Is Muhammad the last Prophet and the Qur'an the final revelation?

33:40 Muhammad is not the father of (any) one of your men, but the Messenger of Allah and Seal of the Prophets. And ever is Allah , of all things, Knowing.

(The phrase “Seal of the Prophets” (33:40) implies that there are no more Scriptures after the Qur’an, because Prophets came with a Book (19:30, 5:44, 4:163, 17:55), while Messengers confirm it (3:81). Verse 33:40 does not say that Muhammad is the last Messenger. Messengers are sent with clear proofs (57:25, 35:25); therefore, they are to be followed and obeyed (7:158, 14:44, 36:20, 2:285, 24:47, 26:125, 5:92, 4:64, 64:12))(All Prophets are Messengers, but not all Messengers are Prophets. 5:3 Are made unlawful for you the dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which is dedicated to other than Allah, and that which is strangled, and that which is fatally hit, and that which has a fatal fall, and that which is gored by horns, and that which ate the wild animal except what you slaughtered, and that which is sacrificed on stone altars, and that you seek division by divining arrows - that is grave disobedience. This day those who disbelieve have despaired of your religion; so do not fear them, but fear Me. This day I have perfected your religion for you and I have completed My Favor upon you, and I have approved for you Islam as a religion. But whoever is forced by hunger with no inclination to sin, then indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(Non-Muslims might object that it is not valid to claim Muhammad is the last Prophet and the Qur’an is the final revelation simply because the Qur’an says so. However, the Qur’an is obviously from God. Scriptures or books other than the Qur’an may contain contradictions or scientific errors, and they lack mathematical miracles. Some non-Muslims wrongly claim that mathematical miracles can be found in the Bible or in “any text” (e.g., War and Peace, Moby Dick, etc.), but this is not true. In fact, they are trying to make people think there is nothing unique about the mathematics in Scripture. They provide examples that are actually quite ridiculous and cannot be compared to the Qur’an at all; their goal is to make the mathematical miracles in the Qur’an seem ordinary, when they are not. The mathematical miracles of the Qur’an are truly miraculous, whereas when non-Muslims look at books other than the Qur’an, they simply try to make numbers match: they start and stop wherever they want; if they can’t find anything interesting on one page, they move to another, etc. Ultimately, they only produce ridiculous and unconvincing results)(Allah knows best)

(Another point is that because Christians and Jews have distorted, corrupted, and/or contradicted one another, a new revelation was needed. 35:43 (Due to) arrogance in the land and plotting of evil; but the evil plot does not encompass except its own people. Then do they wait except the way of the former? But you will never find in the way of Allah any change, and you will never find in the way of Allah any alteration.

10:15 And when Our Verses are recited to them as clear proofs, those who do not hope for the meeting with Us said, "Bring us a Qur’an other than this or change it." Say, "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I follow not except what is revealed to me. Indeed, If I were to disobey my Lord, I fear the punishment of a Great Day."

(Christians and Jews deny the Qur’an, yet it is obvious that the world needed a new Revelation to explain and clarify the Bible, as there is evidence that the Bible was corrupted while the Qur’an has been preserved. 3:85 And whoever seeks other than Islam as religion - then never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be from the losers.
