Was Islam spread by the sword?

Was Islam spread by the sword?

50:45 We know best what they say, and you are not the one to compel them. But remind with the Qur’an whoever fears My threat.

(The word “sword” is not mentioned in the entire Qur’an, on the other hand, the word sword is mentioned more than 400 times in the Bible)(According to the Qur’an, there is freedom of religion in Islam; and fighting is in self-defense and against oppression)(See the link below “Do Muslims have to kill Jews and Christians just because they are not Muslims? Or is it only allowed in self-defense?”)(Allah knows best)

8:30 And when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or drive you out. And they were planning and Allah was planning. And Allah is the Best of Planners.

(Non-Muslims are hypocrites by falsely telling that Islam was spread by the sword, while non-Muslims have killed millions of people, for evil reasons: religion (making God an excuse), territory, wealth, etc. Non-Muslims occupied other people’s land (e.g. Europeans (Christians, atheists and Jews) occupied the Americas, Palestine, South Africa, Australia, Siberia, etc.). And they killed and massacred for that purpose)(Allah knows best)

33:60 If the hypocrites and those in whose heart is a disease and those who spread rumors in the city do not cease, We will let you overpower them, then they will not remain your neighbors therein except for a little,

(The disbelievers plotted against Muslims, to restrain them, or kill them, or drive them out (8:30); so Muslims have to defend themselves. If non-Muslims were overpowered in their land, that’s the consequence of their wrongdoing)(Allah knows best)

2:256 There is no compulsion in the religion. Surely the right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in false deities and believes in Allah has grasped the firm handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

(The Qur’an guides to righteousness (17:9). Self-defense is not the source / origin / root of violence, and there is nothing bad or evil in the Qur’an)(In fact, the Bible is the extreme one. The world should be concerned that the Bible contains cannibalism, killing of innocents (1 Samuel 15:3 and Ezekiel 9:5-6), rape, incest, oppression of women, slavery, sexual slaves, honor killing, stoning, discrimination against disabled people, etc.; while all these are not supported in the Qur’an. See the links below, “Which religion is moderate and which is extreme? Who are the radicals? Judaism vs. Christianity vs. Islam vs. atheism” and “Is the Bible corrupted?”)(Allah knows best)

109:6 For you is your religion, and for me is my religion."

17:107 Say, "Believe in it or do not believe. Indeed, those who were given the knowledge before it, when it is recited to them, they fall on their faces in prostration."

42:15 So to that then invite, and stand firm as you are commanded and do not follow their desires, but say, "I believe in what Allah has sent down of the Book, and I am commanded to do justice between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us are our deeds and for you your deeds. There is no argument between us and between you. Allah will assemble us, and to Him is the final return."

39:15 So worship what you will besides Him." Say, "Indeed, the losers are those who (will) lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, that is the clear loss."

2:139 Say, "Do you argue with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? And for us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. And we are sincere to Him.

10:99 And if your Lord had willed, those who are on the earth all of them would surely have believed. Then, will you compel mankind until they become believers? 10:100 And it is not for a soul to believe except by the permission of Allah. And He will place the wrath on those who do not use reason.

49:13 O mankind, indeed, We created you from a male and a female and We made you nations and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you near Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware.

60:8 Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you in the religion and do not drive you out of your homes, that you deal kindly and justly with them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.

26:227 Except those who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they were wronged. And those who have wronged will come to know to what return they will return.

4:75 And what is with you that you do not fight in the way of Allah, and (for) those who are weak among men and women and children who say, "Our Lord, take us out of this town whose people are oppressors and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper.

(Self-defense)(Allah knows best)

4:90 Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty or those who come to you with hearts restraining them from fighting you or fighting their people. And if Allah had willed, surely He would have given them power over you, and they would surely have fought you. So if they withdraw from you and do not fight against you and offer you peace, then Allah has not made for you a way against them.

4:91 You will find others wishing to be secure from you and to be secure from their people. Every time they are returned to the temptation, they are plunged into it. So if they do not withdraw from you and offer you peace and they restrain their hands, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them. And those - We made for you against them a clear authority.

(Self-defense)(Allah knows best)

42:39 And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves.

16:126 And if you retaliate, then retaliate with the like of that with which you were afflicted. But if you are patient, it is surely better for those who are patient.

(Self-defense)(Allah knows best)

42:40 The recompense for an evil is an evil like it. But whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, then his reward is on Allah. Indeed, He does not like the wrongdoers.

5:32 From that time, We ordained on the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul other than for a soul or for spreading corruption in the earth, then it is as if he has killed the whole mankind, and whoever saves it then it is as if he has saved the whole mankind. And surely Our Messengers came to them with clear Signs, yet after that, indeed, many of them surely commit excesses in the earth.

2:191 And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from wherever they drove you out, and oppression is worse than killing. And do not fight them near Al-Masjid Al-Haraam until they fight you there. Then if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the reward of the disbelievers.

(Self-defense)(Allah knows best)

9:13 Will you not fight a people who broke their oaths and determined to drive out the Messenger and they began (to attack) you the first time? Do you fear them? But Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you are believers.

(Self-defense)(Allah knows best)

2:192 Then if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

2:190 And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you, and do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like the transgressors.

(Self-defense)(Allah knows best)

2:193 And fight against them until there is no oppression, and the religion becomes for Allah Then if they cease, then let there be no hostility except against the oppressors.

(Verse 2:193 is not about compulsion in religion; but compulsion in religion is forbidden (2:256). The Verse is in the context of Muslims being oppressed, and self-defense, because the Verse explicitly says “until there is no oppression” and “if they cease”; so Muslims fight against oppression, to overcome the oppressors, so that the religion becomes for Allah, so that Muslims can practice their religion)(Allah knows best)

2:120 And the Jews and the Christians will never be pleased with you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the Guidance of Allah is the Guidance." And if you follow their desires after what has come to you of the knowledge, you will have neither any protector from Allah nor any helper.

(In conclusion, according to the Qur’an, you cannot compel people in the religion)(In regard to Judaism, according to the article “forced conversion”, “Forced conversions occurred under the Hasmonean Kingdom. The Idumeans were forced to convert to Judaism, by threat of exile or death”. According to Harold W. Attridge, “forced conversion was a national policy, is clear from the fact that Alexander Jannaeus demolished the city of Pella in Moab, ‘because the inhabitants would not agree to adopt the national custom of the Jews.’”. According to William Horbury, “The evidence is best explained by postulating that an existing small Jewish population in Lower Galilee was massively expanded by the forced conversion in c.104 BC of their Gentile neighbors in the north.”. “In 2009 the BBC defended a claim that in AD 524 the Yemeni Jewish Himyar tribe, led by King Yusuf Dhu Nuwas, had offered Christian residents of a village in what is now Saudi Arabia the choice between conversion to Judaism or death, and that 20,000 Christians had then been massacred”. “Inscriptions documented by Yousef himself show the great pride he expressed after massacring more than 22,000 Christians in Zafar and Najran”, etc.)(In regard to Christianity, according to that article, “Christian heretics had been persecuted; beginning in the late 4th century, the ancient pagan religions were also actively suppressed”, “forced conversions of Jews were carried out with the support of rulers during late antiquity and the early middle ages in Gaul, the Iberian peninsula and in the Byzantine empire”, “forced conversion that occurred after the seventh century generally took place during riots and massacres carried out by mobs and clergy without support of the rulers”, “tactics of crusades included the killing of hostages, massacre, and the devastation of the lands of tribes that had not yet submitted (to Christianity)”, “the so-called “new Christians” were those inhabitants (Sephardic Jews or Mudejar Muslims) who were baptized under coercion and in the face of execution, becoming forced converts from Islam or from Judaism”, and so on (forced conversion in colonial Americas, Eastern Europe, India, etc.))(In regard to atheism, “under the doctrine of state atheism in the Soviet Union, there was a “government-sponsored program of forced conversion to atheism” conducted by Communists, “the Russian Orthodox church, for centuries the strongest of all Orthodox churches, was violently suppressed”, “as of November 2018, in present-day China, the government has detained many people in internment camps, “where Uighur Muslims are remade into atheist Chinese subjects”. For children forcibly taken away from their parents, the Chinese government has established “orphanages” with the aim of “converting future generations of Uighur Muslim children into loyal subjects who embrace atheism”, and a long etcetera)(Allah knows best)
