Should Muslims define themselves first as their nationality and then as Muslims?

41:33 And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteous deeds and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims/those who submit?"

("Muslim" is an Arabic word meaning "one who submits (to God)")(Islam is from God. On the other hand, the nationalities are man-made land divisions, man-made names, man-made flags, etc)(Allah knows best)

27:91 "I am commanded only to worship the Lord of this city, the One Who made it sacred and to Him (belongs) all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims

3:110 You are the best of people raised for mankind - enjoining the right and forbidding the wrong and believing in Allah. And if the People of the Book had believed, surely it would have been good for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.

(If a person defines himself by his nationality, his party would include non-Muslims, murders, rapists, atheists, thieves, etc.; while, by definition, a Muslim is never a criminal (68:35-36), because they obey God, and what God orders is good)(The words “Muslim” and “criminal” oppose each other. If someone calls himself “Muslim”, but he were to commit a crime, he would cease being a Muslim (aka Submitted (to God)))(Allah knows best)

68:35 Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals? 68:36 What is with you? How do you judge?

22:78 And strive for Allah with the striving which is due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you any difficulty in the religion. The religion of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before, and in this, that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over mankind. So establish prayer and give zakah (charity) and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protector - so an Excellent Protector and an Excellent Helper.

4:139 Those who take the disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do they seek honor with them? But indeed, all honor is for Allah.

2:136 Say, "We have believed in Allah and what is revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the descendants, and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Him we are submissive / Muslims."

58:22 You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day loving those who oppose Allah and His Messenger even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. Those - He has decreed faith in their hearts and supported them with a spirit from Him. And He will admit them to Gardens underneath which rivers flow, they will abide in it forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. They are the party of Allah. No doubt, indeed, the party of Allah, they are the successful ones.

19:40 Indeed, We will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned.

(The earth belongs to God)(Allah knows best)

15:23 And indeed, We, surely We give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor.

28:88 And do not invoke with Allah another deity. There is no deity except Him. Everything (will be) destroyed except His Face. His is the judgment, and to Him you will be returned.

19:16 And mention in the Book Mary, when she withdrew from her family to an eastern place. ... 19:22 So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.

(The nationalities and borders in the land are man-made, so mankind was deprived of their right to move freely anywhere on Earth)(Allah knows best)

3:105 And do not be like those who became divided and differed after the clear proofs came to them. And they will have a great punishment.

(A country’s borders is a man-made division which, many times, makes people not to interfere in other countries’ problems, but there must be no borders among Muslims, so that they support each other wherever they are, against those who attack or oppress Muslims)(Allah knows best)

26:227 Except those who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they were wronged. And those who have wronged will come to know to what return they will return.

33:67 And they will say, "Our Lord, indeed, we obeyed our chiefs and our great men, and they misled us (from) the Way.

(Nationalities may imply division among Muslims)(Allah knows best)

7:38 He (will) say, "Enter into the Fire among nations which passed away before you of jinn and men." Every time a nation entered, it cursed its sister (nation), until when they had all overtaken one another therein, the last of them (will) say about the first of them, "Our Lord, these misled us, so give them double punishment of the Fire." He (will) say, "For each is a double, but you do not know."

5:104 And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger," they said, "Sufficient for us is that upon which we found our forefathers." Even though their forefathers knew nothing, nor were they guided?

20:88 Then he brought forth for them a calf's body which had a lowing sound, and they said, "This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot." ... 20:91 They said, "Never we will cease being devoted to it until Moses returns to us."

(You cannot use the absence of a Messenger as an excuse to be divided. It is said that the coming of someone would unite Muslims, while God commands in the Qur’an not to be divided. So, you have to obey now/today/immediately, and unite together, whether someone is coming or not. Verse 42:13 says, “to establish the religion and not to be divided therein”)(Lack of union benefits the enemies of Islam)(Allah knows best)

6:121 And (do) not eat of that on which Allah’s name has not been mentioned, and indeed, it (is) grave disobedience. And indeed, the devils inspire [to] their friends so that they dispute with you, and if you obey them, indeed, you (would) be the polytheists.

(According to Verse 6:121, obeying the devils is polytheism. All countries have man-made laws, instead of following the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

30:31 Turning to Him, and fear Him and establish the prayer and (do) not be of the polytheists 30:32 Of those who divide their religion and become sects (shiya’an), each party rejoicing in what they have.

(You cannot become a sect. If you differ from the religion, it implies polytheism (aka obeying people/Satan instead of obeying God))(A country is a kind of sect. The word “shiya’an” (sects) also means/implies scattered/dispersed, separate/distinct party, etc.)(Allah knows best)

2:165 And among [the] mankind (are) who take[s] [from] besides Allah (as) equals. They love them as (they should) love Allah. And/(But) those who believe[d] (are) stronger (in) love for Allah. And if those who wronged would/(could) see, when they will see the punishment, that all the power (belongs) to Allah and [that] Allah (is) severe (in) [the] punishment.

(Loving a country, its flag, its fellow citizens, dying for the cause/way of your country/patriotism, following its man-made laws, etc., may imply committing shirk/association/polytheism)(Patriotism is regarded as a good thing, but that’s through its propaganda and child indoctrination. Patriotism/nationalism is sick, misleading, and the patriotic ones might punish or oppress people and corrupt on earth)(Allah knows best)

2:190 And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you, and do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like the transgressors.

(Note: “fight … those who fight you” implies self-defense)(Allah knows best)

2:195 And spend in the way of Allah and let not your own hands throw yourselves into destruction. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the good-doers.

3:157 And if you are killed in the way of Allah or die - certainly forgiveness and Mercy from Allah are better than what they accumulate.
