Does Satan exist?
17:53 And say to My slaves to say that which is best. Indeed, Satan sows discord between them. Indeed, Satan is a clear enemy to man.
(The stories in the Qur’an are real, not symbolic. The Gospel confirms that Satan exists, but Christians regard him as a rebellious angel, while Satan is not an Angel; Angels cannot disobey) (Iblees is a Jinn, not an Angel) (Regarding the word “Satan,” its root is “Shiin-Tay-Nun,” which means to “become distant / far / remote, penetrate and be concealed, turn away in opposition, devil, one excessively proud/corrupt, unbelieving / rebellious / insolent / audacious / obstinate / perverse, any blameable faculty or power of a man, etc.” According to its definition, besides jinn, there are also men who are rebellious, insolent, etc., if they follow the footsteps of Satan (2:168). According to Verse 41:29, both jinn and men can mislead people) (Regarding Judaism, “satan” is mentioned in the Torah and Talmud, but the Rabbis usually interpreted the word “satan” as referring strictly to human adversaries, so they usually translate the term “Satan” as “opponent” or “adversary”) (The Bible, Talmud, and Jewish or Christian scholars are not reliable because it is a fact that the Bible is corrupted. See the links below, “Is the Bible corrupted?”) (On the other hand, the Qur’an has been preserved and contains mathematical and scientific evidence which proves that it is from God. So, If a source or interpretation differs from the Qur’an regarding “Satan,” then the Qur’an is correct because it is a Criterion to know what is true) (See the links below: “The Qur’an and Mathematics,” “Is the Qur'an scientifically correct?” and “Has the Qur'an been preserved?”) (Allah knows best)
55:39 Then (on) that Day neither man nor jinn (jannun) will be asked about his sin.
(The English word “genius” is similar to the Arabic “jinn,” but “genius” is referred to as “Roman mythology” and even so-called “Islamic mythology” by some English dictionaries, as if a “jinn” (in Arabic) were an imaginary character. However, there is no such thing as “Islamic mythology”, the jinn is a real creature. So, the word “genius” is not the same as “jinn,” because “genius” in English has degenerated into another meaning, and some non-Muslims invent false illustrations of geniuses even though they are invisible to mankind. Furthermore, the “jinn” could be behind many cases of people possessed by “the devil,” or he could be the one who answers when people invoke the dead (Note: Invoking other than God is forbidden in Islam)) (The root of the word “jinn” is “Jiim-Nun-Nun”, and it means “veiled / concealed / covered / hidden / invisible, etc.”) (Allah knows best)
55:31 We will attend to you, O you two weights … 81:15 But nay, I swear by those that retreat, 81:16 Those that run (and) disappear,
(Evidence of Jinn in our world may be found in phenomena like possession or the use of Ouija boards intended to contact spirits. These can be viewed as inter-dimensional intersections-much like invisible radio waves that you cannot see, yet they still affect how you feel. Similarly, Jinn may interact with human minds through their physical nature, even though we can’t see them) (Important note: invoking other than God is forbidden in Islam) (Many paranormal investigators, like John Keel or Jacques VallĂ©e, have documented cases where a “spirit” claims to be a loved one but eventually starts lying. The pattern is that the entity starts with comforting, accurate information but gradually becomes manipulative, aggressive, or nonsensical. This suggests the entity is a being that “scans” the human’s mind or memories to put on a familiar mask. This matches the description of a Jinn rather than a human soul. Chapter 114 of the Qur’an says, “Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, … from the evil of the whisperer, the one who withdraws, the one who whispers in the breasts/minds of mankind, from jinn and men.’”) (Satan is a jinn and whispers in one’s mind. Verse 7:27 says of Satan: “Indeed, he sees you - he and his tribe, from where you do not see them…”) (Invoking Satan is forbidden; he is an open enemy to mankind (12:5). Only God is to be invoked and worshiped. Prayer is for God alone) (The word Jinn, meaning “hidden,” “invisible,” or “concealed,” finds a conceptual parallel in modern physics through phenomena like dark matter and extra-dimensional theories. Astronomers have confirmed that the vast majority of the universe is made of dark matter. It is a non-luminous, invisible substance that does not interact with electromagnetic force (light), meaning we cannot see it, touch it, or collide with it-likewise, we cannot see, touch, or collide with Jinn. However, we know it is there because its gravitational pull acts as the 'glue' holding galaxies together. This establishes a scientific precedent: a substance can be physically real and possess “weight” (mass) while remaining entirely imperceptible to human senses) (Verse 81:15-16 might refer to dark matter, which is invisible or not seen, and which moves and sweeps) (The “two classes” (literally “two weights”) mentioned in Verse 55:31 may refer to both humans and Jinn, who possess a form of “weight” even if they exist in different “phases” or dimensions. Quantum physics and String Theory suggest the existence of extra dimensions beyond our 3D perception. It is interpreted that Jinn exist within these hidden dimensions or as a form of imperceptible matter) (Allah knows best)
22:53 That He may make that which Satan throws a trial for those in whose hearts is a disease, and those whose hearts are hardened. And indeed, the wrongdoers are surely in a schism far.
(According to “myjewishlearning(dot)com,” “The Book of Job is sometimes cited to support the claim that the Jewish view of Satan as an agent of God is different from the Christian view, which sees Satan as an autonomous force opposed to God. In the story, Satan inflicts suffering on a human being and seeks to induce him to sin – but only with God’s permission”) (Similarly, Verse 38:41 of the Qur’an says, “And remember Our slave Job, when he called to his Lord, ‘That, Satan has touched me with distress and suffering,’” and Verse 64:11 says, “No disaster strikes except by the permission of Allah.” However, Satan is not an agent or representative of God, because Satan disobeys God (18:50). On the other hand, according to Verse 22:53, God “may make that which Satan throws a trial for those in whose hearts is a disease, and those whose hearts are hardened”; thus, Satan is subjected to a purpose (32:13, 38:85), for which God cannot be blamed (14:22), but the wrongdoers are to blame) (Allah knows best)
18:50 And when We said to the Angels, "Prostrate to Adam," so they prostrated except Iblees. (He) was of the jinn, and he rebelled against the Command of his Lord. Then, will you take him and his offspring as protectors other than Me, while they are enemies to you? Wretched is the exchange for the wrongdoers.
41:29 And those who disbelieve (will) say, "Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the jinn and men, (so) we may put them under our feet, that they be of the lowest."
7:12 (Allah) said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" (Iblees) said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and You created him from clay." 7:13 (Allah) said, "Then go down from it, for it is not for you to be arrogant in it. So get out; indeed, you are of the disgraced ones."
5:12 And certainly Allah took a Covenant from the Children of Israel and We appointed from among them twelve leaders. And Allah said, "Indeed, I am with you if you establish prayer and give the zakah (charity) and you believe in My Messengers and you assist them and you loan Allah a goodly loan, surely I will remove from you your evil deeds and I will surely admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow. But whoever of you disbelieved after that, then he certainly strayed from the right way. 5:13 So for their breaking of their covenant We cursed them and We made their hearts hard. They distort words from their places, and forgot a part of what they were reminded of. And you will not cease to discover treachery from them except a few of them. But forgive them and overlook. Indeed, Allah loves the good-doers. 5:14 And from those who said, Indeed we are Christians," We took their covenant; but they forgot a part of what they were reminded of. So We aroused enmity and hatred between them until the Day of Resurrection. And soon Allah will inform them of what they used to do.
3:36 Then when she delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female." And Allah was most knowing of what she delivered, "And the male is not like the female. And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You and her descendants from Satan, the rejected."
