If the Qur’an is explained in detail, why is not possible to learn, who Abu Lahab is and why he and his wife are damned to hell, without referencing hadith? Is chapter 111 pointless?

If the Qur’an is explained in detail, why is not possible to learn, who Abu Lahab is and why he and his wife are damned to hell, without referencing hadith? Is Chapter 111 pointless?

111:1 Perish the hands of Abu Lahab and perish he. 111:2 His wealth and what he earned will not avail him. 111:3 He will be burnt in a Fire of Blazing Flames, 111:4 And his wife, the carrier of firewood, 111:5 In her neck will be a rope of palm-fiber.

(Some people say that it is not possible to learn who is Abu Lahab, and why Abu Lahab and his wife are condemned to hell, without referencing hadith, while Verse 12:111 says that the Qur’an is “a detailed explanation of all things”. One interpretation is that the Qur’an “explained in detail” does not refer to, for example, knowing everything about “Abu Lahab”, but to, for example, matters about judging (See the context: "Then is it other than Allah I should seek as judge, while He is the One Who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail?" (6:114)); or, for example, “explained in detail” refers to what food is forbidden (“He (has) explained in detail to you what He (has) forbidden to you” (6:119)); or, for example, “explained” in the Qur’an refers to the warnings (the Qur’an in Arabic and have explained the warnings in it that they may fear or that it may cause them remembrance” (20:113)), etc.; so, in these examples, the Verses explicitly say which matter is explained or explained in detail. That is in accordance to what the Qur’an is about: a “guidance” (2:2), a Criterion (25:1), a Reminder (80:11), etc., not about what it was not intended to be (e.g. an encyclopedia))(Another point is that the Qur’an explains the reason why a person is condemned to Hell (2:39), so you know why a person is condemned to Hell, without knowing about Abu Lahab’s story; and the Qur’an tells about Messengers having a disbelieving wife, or father, etc., so you know that anyone could be a disbeliever, even a Messenger’s relative, without knowing that Abu Lahab was Muhammad’s paternal uncle)(Allah knows best)

16:64 And We have not revealed to you the Book except that you make clear to them that in which they differed, and as a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.

(The sentence “a confirmation and a detailed explanation / explained in detail” (12:111) refers to making “clear to them that in which they differed” (16:64), instead of “everything” in general. This is because Verse 12:111 and Verse 16:64 complement each other. So, according to the context, the sentence “that you make clear to them that in which they differed” (16:64) implicitly refers to the sentence “confirmation of that which was before it and a detailed explanation of all things” (12:111); that’s because the two Verses (16:64, 12:111) are similar or equivalent, so the two sentences correspond to each other. In conclusion, Verses 16:64 and 12:111 are in fact proving that the sentence “a detailed explanation of all things” (12:111) is not “in general”, but is actually specific. The Verses of the Qur’an are not mutually exclusive but complement each other)(So, the Qur’an makes clear that in which they differed, by confirming that which God revealed in the Bible (not what He did not reveal / they invented), and by explaining all things (in that regard or context (e.g. the Qur’an confirms/explains the Bible)))(Allah knows best)

12:111 Verily, in their stories is a lesson for men of understanding. It is not an invented narration, but a confirmation of that which was before it and a detailed explanation of all things, and a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.

(Verses 10:37 and 5:48 complement each other, because both speak about confirming the Book, that came before the Qur’an. In that regard, Verse 10:37 says “a detailed explanation of the Book”; and Verse 5:48 says that they used to differ; so these two Verses implicitly support the interpretation that “explained in detail” refers to “that in which they differed”, instead of “everything” in general)(Allah knows best)

10:37 And it was not that this Qur’an could be produced by other than Allah, but (it is) a confirmation of that which was before it and a detailed explanation of the Book, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

5:48 And We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming the Book that came before it and as a guardian over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their vain desires when the truth has come to you. For each of you We have made a law and a clear way. And if Allah had willed, He would have made you one community [and] but to test you in what He has given you; so race to good. To Allah you will all return, then He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ.

2:213 Mankind was a single community, then Allah raised up Prophets (as) bearers of glad tidings and (as) warners, and sent down with them the Book in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed. And did not differ in it except those who were given it, after clear proofs came to them, (out of) jealousy among themselves. And Allah guided those who believed concerning that over which they differed of the Truth, with His permission. And Allah guides whom He wills to a straight path.

18:54 And certainly, We have explained in this Qur’an every example for mankind. But man is in most things quarrelsome.

(There is a diversity of examples in the Qur’an. Abu Lahab is someone explicitly mentioned who will be burnt in the Fire, while others are not mentioned by name)(Allah knows best)

6:114 "Then is it other than Allah I should seek as judge, while He is the One Who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail?" And those to whom We gave the Book know that it is sent down from your Lord in truth, so do not be among the doubters.

(In this Verse, “explained in detail” refers to judging. The Qur’an is a “Guidance” (2:2, 2:120), a Criterion (25:1), a Reminder (80:11), etc. (For the believers, not for the disbelievers), so the Book is explained in detail according to what the Qur’an is, not according to what is not. The Qur’an is not an encyclopedia, so it does not explain or is not intended that people would know everything about Abu Lahab in the Qur’an, but only what God willed)(Allah knows best)

6:119 And why should you not eat of that on which Allah's name has been mentioned, when indeed, He (has) explained in detail to you what He (has) forbidden to you, except that to which you are compelled. And indeed, many surely lead astray by their desires without knowledge. Indeed, your Lord, He is most knowing of the transgressors.

(In this Verse, according to the context, “explained in detail” refers to the food that has been forbidden)(Allah knows best)

20:113 And thus We have sent it down, the Qur’an in Arabic and have explained the warnings in it that they may fear or that it may cause them remembrance.

(In this Verse, “explained” refers to the warnings)(Allah knows best)

3:7 He is the One Who revealed to you the Book, in it are Verses which are absolutely clear - they are the foundation of the Book, and others are allegorical. Then as for those in whose hearts is perversity - [so] they follow what is allegorical of it, seeking discord and seeking its interpretation. And none except Allah knows its interpretation. And those who are firm in knowledge, they say, "We believe in it. All is from our Lord." And not will take heed except men of understanding.

(Verses 6:114 and 6:119 mention which matter is explained in detail. But “explained in detail” or “clear Qur’an” does not refer to allegorical or unspecific verses (3:7), because there is an intention that those in whose hearts is deviation, they would follow the unspecific verses (3:7). So, the Verses of the Qur’an are not mutually exclusive, but complement each other)(The “purpose” of the allegorical or unspecific Verses is “explained” and “clear”. Likewise, the purpose of the parables in the Bible is that “they may not understand” (Matthew 13:13, Luke 8:10))(Allah knows best)

2:26 Indeed, Allah is not ashamed to set forth an example even of a mosquito and something above it. Then as for those who believed, they will know that it is the truth from their Lord. And those who disbelieved will say, “what did Allah intend by this example? He lets go astray many by it and He guides many by it. And He does not let go astray by it except the defiantly disobedient.

(Verse 2:26 speaks about those who wonder about examples which they do not understand, they go astray by it. Those who disbelieve follow a purpose)(The example of Abu Lahab may avert them from the way)(Allah knows best)

5:68 Say, "O People of the Book, you are not on anything until you stand firmly by the Torah and the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord. And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in rebellion and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.

(The Qur’an says what it says, and how it says it, according to a purpose)(Allah knows best)

97:1 Indeed, We revealed it in the Night of Power (laylati l-qadri). 97:2 And what can make you know what the Night of Power (laylatu l-qadri) is? 97:3 The Night of Power (laylatu l-qadri) is better than a thousand months. 97:4 Therein descend the Angels and the Spirit, by the permission of their Lord, for every affair, 97:5 Peace it (hiya) is until the emergence of dawn.

(Another point, in the case of Verses 97:1-5, it seems that the Verses do not say when the Night of Power is, but actually it is implicitly said: according to ibn Abbas, the cousin of Muhammad, “Laylatul Qadr” (“Night (of) Power”) is on the 27th Night of Ramadan. His cousin said so because he counted the number of words in Surah 97 (Surah Al-Qadr); this Surah/Chapter’s complete theme is Laylatul Qadr; and there are 5 words in the first Ayah/Verse; there are 5 more words in the second Ayah; and then 6 words in the third Ayah; then 9 words in the fourth Ayah; and 5 words in the fifth Ayah; so exactly 30 words are there in Chapter 97; these 30 words refer to the 30 days of Ramadan; the 27th word in this Surah is “hiya” (“it”); and “it” refers to “Laylatul Qadr”)(According to the Prophet’s cousin, counting the number of letters in the phrase “Laylatul Qadr”, the word “Laylah” is 4 letters in Arabic, and “Al Qadr” is 5 letters in Arabic, so there are a total of 9 letters in the phrase “Laylatul Qadr”, and this phrase “Laylatul Qadr” is repeated thrice in this Surah, it makes up 9 x 3 = 27, so a total of 27 letters / alphabets are there which refer to Laylatul Qadr in this Surah)(Source: Med Sah’s youtube channel. The information is also verified by myself)(Allah knows best)

27:1 Ta Seen. These (are the) Verses (of) the Qur’an and a clear Book ... 27:93 And say, "All praise (be) to Allah, He will show you His Signs, and you will recognize them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do."

(It is also said that it is not known what are the letters at the beginning of some Chapters. In the case of Chapter “An-Naml” (The Ant), it is numbered 27, and has 93 Verses. It begins with two letters “Tay Siin”. In Chapter 27 the letter “Tay” is written 27 times. And in this Chapter (Chapter 27), consisting of 93 Verses, the letter “Siin” is written 93 times. Source: Shabir Ally)(So, these letters may prove that the Qur’an was preserved)(Allah knows best)

17:41 And verily, We have explained in this Qur’an, that they may take heed, but it does not increase them except in aversion.

52:42 Or do they intend a plot? But those who disbelieve are themselves the plot.

32:13 And if We had willed, surely We would have given every soul its guidance, but the Word from Me will come true, "I will fill Hell with jinn and men all together.

22:16 And thus We sent it down as clear Verses, and that Allah guides whom He intends.

72:17 That We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the Remembrance (of) his Lord, He will make him enter a severe punishment.

9:124 And whenever a Surah is revealed, among them are some who say, "Which of you has increased in faith by it?" As for those who believe, then it has increased them in faith and they rejoice. 9:125 But as for those in whose hearts is a disease, it increases them in evil to their evil. And they die while they are disbelievers.

42:51 And it is not for any human that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a veil or (by) sending a messenger then he reveals, by His permission, what He wills. Indeed, He is Most High, the Most Wise.

(God reveals what He wills)(Allah knows best)

10:15 And when Our Verses are recited to them as clear proofs, those who do not hope for the meeting with Us said, "Bring us a Qur’an other than this or change it." Say, "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I follow not except what is revealed to me. Indeed, If I were to disobey my Lord, I fear the punishment of a Great Day."

28:68 And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses. They do not have the choice. Glory be to Allah and High is He above what they associate.

6:112 And thus We made for every Prophet an enemy - devils from mankind and jinn, inspiring one another with decorative speech in deception. But if your Lord had willed, they would not have done it, so leave them and what they invent.
