Did the ocean split in half?
2:47 O Children of Israel, remember My Favor which I bestowed upon you, and that I preferred you over the worlds. ... 2:50 And when We parted the sea for you, then We saved you, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh while you were looking.
(It was an event registered in the Torah; and the Qur’an confirms that the children of Israel witnessed that event (“We drowned the people of Pharaoh while you were looking” (2:50)). It was a favor to them, at that time, not a common event, but God is Able to do that, because God is All-Powerful over all things (57:2); and God created everything while everything was nothing before (19:9))(Allah knows best)
57:2 To Him (is the) dominion of the heavens and the earth, He gives life and causes death, and He is All-Powerful over all things.
17:101 And We had certainly given Moses nine clear Signs, so ask the Children of Israel when he came to them, then Pharaoh said to him, "O Moses, indeed, I think you are bewitched." 17:102 He said, "Verily, you know none has sent down these except the Lord of the heavens and the earth as evidence, and indeed, O Pharaoh, I surely think you are destroyed."
3:44 That is from the news of the unseen - We reveal it to you. And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them takes charge of Mary; nor were you with them when they were disputing.
(Those who do not believe in that story, they were not with Moses, nor do they know the unseen, so they speculate about what they don’t know)(On the other hand, the Qur’an Itself is an evidence that it really happened. See the links below, “Is the Qur'an scientifically correct?” and “The Qur’an and Mathematics”)(Allah knows best)
6:53 And thus We try some of them with others that they say, "Are these (whom) Allah has favored among us?" Is not Allah most knowing of those who are grateful?
14:11 Their Messengers said to them, "We are not but human like you, but Allah bestows His Grace on whom He wills of His slaves. And it is not for us that we bring you an authority except by the permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers put their trust.
(The disbelievers wonder about the story of Moses, because Moses is a human, and it was an uncommon event, but God is All-Powerful over all “things” (57:2); and God created everything while everything was nothing before. So, everything is impossible, unless God permits it (34:12), whether the disbelievers find a certain event common or uncommon)(Parting the sea could be as surprising as a human speaking with his mouth because a human was nothing before and a human is made of lifeless water and dust, and God gave him life and made him speak, so the disbelievers wonder about the story of Moses, but they may not wonder about the Signs in creation)(Allah knows best)
45:4 And in your creation and what He disperses of the moving creatures are Signs for a people who are certain.
(The natural laws were created/chosen out of nothing. They were chosen to be that way. And they are impossible without a Creator, and unless God makes it happen, because it was nothing before. God upholds the heavens and the earth (35:41) the way they are, so God can easily split the sea in half)(Disbelievers might attribute the natural laws to nature, chaos or time, so the disbelieves are the ones who believe in fairytales)(Allah knows best)
35:41 Indeed, Allah upholds the heavens and the earth, lest they cease. And if they should cease, no one can uphold them after Him. Indeed, He is Most Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving.
28:68 And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses. They do not have the choice. Glory be to Allah and High is He above what they associate.
42:29 And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and whatever creatures He has dispersed in both of them. And He is All-Powerful over their gathering, when He wills.
19:9 He said, "Thus, your Lord said, 'It is easy for Me, and certainly I have created you before, while you were nothing.'"
(The One Who created everything is Able to split the sea in two)(Allah knows best)
3:189 And to Allah (is the) dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is All-Powerful over everything.
12:111 Verily, in their stories is a lesson for men of understanding. It is not an invented narration, but a confirmation of that which was before it and a detailed explanation of all things, and a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.
25:5 And they say, "Tales of the former people which he has had written down, and they are dictated to him morning and evening." 25:6 Say, "He has sent it down, the One Who knows the secret in the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
18:13 We narrate to you their story in truth. Indeed, they were youths who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance.
(The title of this post says “ocean” (the website I’m answering to, selected this word, not me). Verse 2:50 says “Bahr”, its root is “Ba-Ha-Ra”, and it means “a vast expanse of water” (ocean, sea, huge river). The Verse refers to “sea”, not “ocean”, and it is said that Moses and his people crossed the red sea. “Ocean” and “sea” are not used interchangeably in English when speaking about the sea. Seas are smaller, and are usually located where the land and ocean meet, and typically, seas are partially enclosed by land. Nevertheless, God is Able to split both the sea and the ocean)(Allah knows best)
7:136 So We took retribution from them and We drowned them in the sea because they denied Our Signs, and they were heedless to them.
6:37 And they said, "Why (is) not a Sign sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "Indeed, Allah (is) Able to send down a Sign, but most of them (do) not know."
