Gender of wingless ants in the Qur’an?

27:18 Until, when they came to the valley of the ants, an ant said (qalat), "O ants, enter your dwellings so that Solomon and his hosts (may) not crush you while they do not perceive."

(The Qur’an uses the word “qalat” for females, instead of “qala” for males. All male ants have wings and it’s unlikely to see a male ant except on a special day. While all worker ants and wingless ants are females. So the option for female ants was to hide underground (27:18).
