Does the Qur'an guide or misguide people? Does God guide or misguide people?

Does the Qur'an guide or misguide people? Does God guide or misguide people?

9:114 And Abraham’s asking of forgiveness for his father was not except because of a promise he had promised it to him. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to Allah, he disassociated from him. Indeed, Abraham was compassionate, forbearing. 9:115 And Allah (will) not let a people go astray after He has guided them until He makes clear to them what they should fear. Indeed, Allah is All-Knower of everything.

(According to Verse 9:115, once it is clear to them what they should fear, then, God could let them go astray)(Allah knows best)

6:25 And among them are those who listen to you, but We have placed over their hearts coverings lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And if they see every sign, they will not believe in it. Until, when they come to you and argue with you those who disbelieved say, "This is not but the tales of the former (people)." 6:26 And they forbid (others) from it and they keep away from it. And they do not destroy except themselves, and they do not perceive.

(They firstly disbelieved, before covering their hearts (6:25). This is supported by the next Verse (6:26). They destroy themselves (6:26), so they suffer the consequences of what they do)(Allah knows best)

5:78 Those who disbelieved from the Children of Israel were cursed by the tongue of David and Jesus, son of Mary, because they disobeyed and they used to transgress.

(They firstly disobeyed and transgressed, then they were cursed)(Allah knows best)

2:159 Indeed, those who conceal the clear proofs We revealed, and the Guidance, after We made it clear for the people in the Book – they are cursed by Allah and cursed by those who curse. 2:160 Except those who repent and reform (themselves) and openly declare. Then from those, I will accept repentance, and I (am) the Acceptor of Repentance, the Most Merciful. 2:161 Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they (were) disbelievers, upon them is the curse of Allah, and the Angels, and the mankind, all together. 2:162 (They will) abide in it forever. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved.

(Those who are cursed by God can be forgiven, if they repent and reform (2:160), before they die (2:161))(Allah knows best)

4:18 And the repentance is not accepted from those who do evil deeds until when death approaches one of them, he says, "Indeed, I repent now;" nor for those who die while they are disbelievers. For them We have prepared a painful punishment.

17:97 And whoever Allah guides then he is the guided one; and whoever He lets go astray - then you will never find for them protectors besides Him. And We will gather them on the Day of Resurrection on their faces – blind, dumb and deaf. Their abode is Hell; every time it subsides, We (will) increase for them the blazing fire. 17:98 That is their recompense because they disbelieved in Our Verses and said, "When we are bones and crumbled particles, will we surely be resurrected as a new creation."

(According to Verse 17:98, they are punished because they disbelieved. And according to Verse 5:51, the “wrongdoing” people is not guided)(Allah knows best)

4:113 And if it was not for the Grace of Allah upon you and His Mercy, surely a group of them had resolved to mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they will not harm you in anything. And Allah has sent down to you the Book and Wisdom and taught you what you did not know. And Allah’s Grace upon you is great.

(The good-doers are favored, on the other hand, the wrongdoers mislead themselves)(Allah knows best)

5:51 O you who believe, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. Some of them are allies to others. And whoever among you takes them as allies, then indeed, he is of them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

9:124 And whenever a Surah is revealed, among them are some who say, "Which of you has increased in faith by it?" As for those who believe, then it has increased them in faith and they rejoice. 9:125 But as for those in whose hearts is a disease, it increases them in evil to their evil. And they die while they are disbelievers.

(Their hearts had evil before increasing them in evil)(Allah knows best)

13:11 For him are successive before and behind him who protect him by the Command of Allah . Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah intends for a people misfortune, there is no turning away of it. And there is not for them besides Him any protector.

(Someone’s condition can be changed, this confirms that jinn and men were created to willingly worship God, and that they wronged themselves, so they don’t have an excuse)(Allah knows best)

25:77 Say, "My Lord will not care for you, if not for your supplication. But verily, you have denied, so soon will be the inevitable (punishment)."

22:10 That is for what your hands have sent forth, and that Allah is not unjust to His slaves.

41:46 Whoever does righteous deeds, then it is for his soul; and whoever does evil, then it is against it. And your Lord is not unjust to His slaves.

32:13 And if We had willed, surely We would have given every soul its guidance, but the Word from Me will come true, "I will fill Hell with jinn and men all together.

(There is a prediction of filling Hell with men (32:13), because mankind has free will (13:11); if there were no free will, there would not be Hell. So, in order to willingly worship God, people has to be able to make mistakes. Sinning deliberately may imply going to Hell)(Allah knows best)

17:41 And verily, We have explained in this Qur’an, that they may take heed, but it does not increase them except in aversion.

(The Qur’an is explained to benefit people “that they may take heed”, but many people do otherwise)(Allah knows best)

5:71 And they thought there would be no trial, so (fa) they became blind and deaf. Then Allah turned to them, then (again) many of them became blind and deaf. And Allah is All-Seer of what they do.

(As a result of their disbelief (“they thought there would be no trial”), then (fa), the consequence is that they became blind and deaf (5:71), but after that “Allah turned to them”. So, after being blind and deaf, God can forgive people (e.g. if they asked forgiveness, and believed, and reformed, ...))(Allah knows best)

2:171 And the example of those who disbelieve is like the example of the one who shouts at that which does not hear except calls and cries - deaf dumb, (and) blind, so they do not understand.

(“Deaf, dumb, blind” are said as an example or allegory, in regard to religion)(Allah knows best)

6:148 Those who associate partners will say, "If Allah had willed, we (would) not have associated partners and neither our forefathers, nor we (would) have forbidden anything." Likewise denied those before them until they tasted Our wrath. Say, "Do you have any knowledge, then produce it for us? You do not follow except assumption, and you do nothing but guess." 6:149 Say, "With Allah is the conclusive argument. And if He (had) willed, surely He (would) have guided you all."

(The disbelievers say, “if God had willed, we would not have associated partners” (6:148), as if they were not to be blamed, or as an excuse, but they did wrong because of themselves. Even so, God is Able to guide them all (6:149), so that they would have not wronged themselves, but God does not guide the wrongdoing people (5:51))(Allah knows best)

17:82 And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.

(“It increases” the wrongdoers in loss, which implies that they were wrongdoers previously, before increasing in loss)(Allah knows best)

61:5 And when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you hurt me while you certainly know that I am the Messenger of Allah to you?" Then when they deviated, Allah caused their hearts to deviate. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.

5:67 O Messenger, convey that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His Message. And Allah will protect you from the people. Indeed, Allah does not guide the disbelieving people. 5:68 Say, "O People of the Book, you are not on anything until you stand firmly by the Torah and the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord. And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in rebellion and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.

(“They” are to stand firmly by that which has been revealed)(The revelation “increased” many of them in rebellion and disbelief. So, that which they already had of rebellion and disbelief was “increased”, because of their previous status)(Allah knows best)

14:22 And Satan will say, when the matter has been decided, "Indeed, Allah promised you a promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no any authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me, but blame yourselves. I (can)not be your helper, nor (can) you be my helper. Indeed, I deny your association of me before. Indeed, the wrongdoers, for them is a painful punishment."

(Mankind is to be blamed because they responded Satan (14:22). Satan is a trial to people (22:53). You cannot make God an excuse (2:224))(Allah knows best)

22:53 That He may make that which Satan throws a trial for those in whose hearts is a disease, and those whose hearts are hardened. And indeed, the wrongdoers are surely in a schism far.

2:224 And do not make Allah an excuse in your oaths that you do good, and be righteous and make peace between people. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

36:47 And when it is said to them, "Spend from what Allah (has) provided you." Those who disbelieved said to those who believed, "Should we feed whom, if Allah willed, He would have fed him?" You (are) not except/(but) in a clear error.

52:33 Or do they say, "He has made it up" Nay, they do not believe.

16:36 And certainly, We sent to every nation a Messenger, that, "Worship Allah, and avoid the false deities." Then among them (were some) whom Allah guided, and among them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel in the earth and see how was the end of the deniers.

2:26 Indeed, Allah is not ashamed to set forth an example even of a mosquito and something above it. Then as for those who believed, they will know that it is the truth from their Lord. And those who disbelieved will say, “what did Allah intend by this example? He lets go astray many by it and He guides many by it. And He does not let go astray by it except the defiantly disobedient.

(According to Verse 2:26, God does not let go astray by an example except the defiantly disobedient)(Allah knows best)

74:31 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except Angels. And We have not made their number except (as) a trial for those who disbelieve – that those who were given the Scripture may be certain, and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who were given the Scripture and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers may say "What does Allah intend by this example?" Thus Allah lets go astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the hosts of your Lord except Him. And it is not but a reminder to (the) human beings.

(It is interpreted that, before the example, the believers were already believers, and the disbelievers were already disbelievers. If there were no example, then no one would be guided or let go astray, with the example, but, in order to guide whom He wills, and let go astray whom He wills, then an example is used. As a result, the example exposes the disbelievers, so they wonder about the example, while those who believe may “increase” in faith (74:31)(those who are already believers). So, the ones He willed to guide with the example (believers) were guided, and the ones He willed to be gone astray with the example (disbelievers) were gone astray)(Allah knows best)

76:3 Indeed, We guided him to the way whether (he) be grateful or ungrateful.

(People is guided and tested before they became willingly grateful or ungrateful)(Allah knows best)

3:108 These (are the) Verses (of) Allah. We recite them to you in truth. And Allah (does) not want injustice to the worlds.

39:18 Those who listen to the Word, then follow the best thereof, those are they whom Allah has guided, and those are men of understanding.

22:16 And thus We sent it down as clear Verses, and that Allah guides whom He intends.
