Are there good manners in Islam / the Qur’an?

Are there good manners in Islam / the Qur’an?

3:134 Those who spend in ease and hardship and those who restrain the anger and those who pardon people - and Allah loves the good-doers.

4:86 And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet with one better than it or return it. Indeed, Allah is of every thing an Accountant.

14:24 Do you not see how Allah sets forth the example, a good word is like a good tree, its root is firm and its branches are in the sky? 14:25 Giving its fruit all the time by the permission of its Lord. And Allah sets forth examples for mankind so that they may remember.

31:19 And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice. Indeed, the harshest (of) sounds is surely the voice of donkeys."

16:125 Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and discuss with them in that which is best. Indeed, your Lord, He is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, And He is most knowing of the guided ones.

3:159 So because of Mercy from Allah you dealt gently with them. And if you had been rude (and) harsh at heart, surely they would have dispersed from around you. Then pardon them and ask forgiveness for them, and consult them in the matter. Then when you have decided, then put trust in Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who put trust.

17:23 And your Lord has decreed that you do not worship except Him Alone, and be good to parents. Whether one or both of them reach old age with you, then do not say to both of them a word of disrespect and do not repel them, but speak to them a noble word. 17:24 And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon both of them as they brought me up (when I was) small."

46:15 And We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship. And the bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months until, when he reaches his maturity and reaches forty years, he says, "My Lord, grant me the power that I may be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and that I may do righteous (deeds) which please You and make for me among my offspring righteous, indeed, I turn to You and indeed, I am of those who submit."

19:32 And dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me insolent, unblessed. … 19:34 That was Jesus, the son of Mary, a statement of truth about which they dispute.

76:8 And they feed (with) the food in spite of love (for) it (to the) needy, and (the) orphan and (the) captive,

4:36 And worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, and do good to parents, and the relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and the neighbor who is near, and the neighbor who is farther away, and the companion by your side, and the traveler and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not love those who are proud and boastful.

17:26 And give the relatives his right, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and do not spend wastefully.

2:215 They ask you what they should spend. Say, "Whatever you spend of good is for parents, and the relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer. And whatever good you do, indeed, Allah is All-Aware of it.

24:22 And let not those of virtue among you and the wealthy swear not to give to the near of kin, and the needy and the emigrants in the way of Allah. And let them pardon and let them overlook. Do you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

15:85 And We (have) not created the heavens and the earth and whatever (is) between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour (is) surely coming. So overlook (with) gracious forgiveness.

41:34 And the good and the evil are not equal. Repel by that which is better; then behold, one between you and between him there was enmity, as if he was an intimate friend.

13:22 And those who are patient, seeking the Face of their Lord, and establish the prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, and they repel the evil with good - for them is the final attainment of the Home -

14:26 And the example of an evil word (is) like an evil tree, uprooted from the surface (of) the earth, not for it (is) any stability.

31:18 And do not turn your cheek from men and do not walk in the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like every self-conceited boaster.

25:63 And the slaves of the Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humbleness, and when the ignorant ones address them, they say, "Peace."

6:108 And do not insult those whom they invoke other than Allah, lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made fair-seeming to every community their deed. Then to their Lord is their return, then He will inform them about what they used to do.

49:11 O you who believe, (Let) not a people ridicule (another) people, perhaps they may be better than them; and (let) not women (ridicule other) women, perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult yourselves and do not call each other by nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after the faith. And whoever does not repent, then those - they are the wrongdoers.

49:13 O mankind, indeed, We created you from a male and a female and We made you nations and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you near Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware.

49:6 O you who believe, if a wicked person comes to you with information, investigate, lest you harm a people in ignorance, then you become regretful over what you have done.

49:12 O you who believe, avoid much assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy and do not backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would hate it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

25:20 And We did not sent before you any Messengers but indeed, they [surely] ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you as a trial for others, will you have patience? And your Lord is All-Seer.

24:12 Why, when you heard it, did not the believing men and believing women think good of themselves and say, "This is a clear lie?"

4:94 O you who believe, when you go forth in the way of Allah, then investigate, and do not say to the one who offers you peace, "You are not a believer," seeking the transitory gains of the worldly life; for with Allah are abundant booties. You were like that before, then Allah conferred favor upon you; so investigate. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

49:2 O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, and do not be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you do not perceive. 49:3 Indeed, those who lower their voices in presence of Allah’s Messenger, they are those whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness. For them is forgiveness and a great reward.

17:37 And (do) not walk in the earth (with) insolence. Indeed, you will never tear the earth, and (you) will never reach the mountains (in) height.

74:4 And purify your clothing, 74:5 And avoid uncleanliness,

33:48 And do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and disregard their harm, and put your trust in Allah. And sufficient is Allah as a Trustee.

(Note: Verse 33:48 refers to non-physical harm, if it were physical, there is self-defense in Islam. Verses 33:53 and 33:69-70, which also indicate the context of Verse 33:48, confirm that it is not a physical harm. The root of “yu’dhu” is “Alif-Dhal-Ya”, and it means “he was or became annoyed / molested / hurt, experience / suffer what is disagreeable, state of annoyance”)(Allah knows best)

11:38 And he was constructing the ship, and every time the chiefs of his people passed by him, they ridiculed him. He said, "If you ridicule us, then we can ridicule you as you ridicule.

28:76 Indeed, Qarun was from the people of Moses, but he oppressed them. And We gave him treasures which indeed the keys of it would burden a company (of men) possessors of great strength. When his people said to him, "Do not exult. Indeed, Allah does not love the exultant. 28:77 But seek, through what Allah has given you, the home (of) the Hereafter, and (do) not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has been good to you. And (do) not seek corruption in the earth. Indeed, Allah (does) not love the corrupters."

60:8 Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you in the religion and do not drive you out of your homes, that you deal kindly and justly with them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.

4:6 And test the orphans until they reach marriage. Then if you perceive in them sound judgment, deliver their wealth to them. And do not consume it excessively and quickly, that they will grow up. And whoever is self-sufficient should refrain; and whoever is poor - let him consume in a fair manner. Then when you deliver their wealth to them, bring witnesses upon them. And sufficient is Allah as Reckoner.

9:62 They swear by Allah to you to please you. And Allah and His Messenger (have) more right that they should please Him, if they are believers.

4:135 O you who believe, be custodians of justice (as) witnesses to Allah, even if it is against yourselves or parents and relatives. whether rich or poor, for Allah is nearer to both of them. So do not follow the desire, lest you deviate. And if you distort or refrain, then indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

28:55 And when they hear vain talk, they turn away from it and say, "For us are our deeds and for you are your deeds. Peace be on you; we do not seek the ignorant."

24:27 O you who believe, (do) not enter houses other (than) your (own) houses until you have asked permission and [you have] greeted [on] its inhabitants. That (is) best for you, so that you may pay heed. 24:28 But if you (do) not find anyone in it, then (do) not enter it until permission has been given to you. And if it is said to you "Go back," then go back; it (is) purer for you. And Allah (is) All-Knower of what you do.

25:67 And those who, when they spend, (are) not/(neither) extravagant and not/(nor) [are] stingy, but are between that, moderate.

25:72 And those who (do) not bear witness (to) [the] falsehood, and when they pass by futility, they pass (as) dignified ones

28:83 That the Home (of) the Hereafter We assign [it] to those who (do) not desire exaltedness in the earth and not/(nor) corruption. And the good end (is) for the righteous.

73:8 And remember (the) name (of) your Lord and devote yourself to Him (with) devotion. 73:9 The Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of Affairs. 73:10 And be patient over what they say, and avoid them (with) a gracious avoidance.

98:5 And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, (being) sincere to Him (in) [the] religion, upright, and to establish the prayer, and to give the zakah/(charity). And that (is) the correct religion.

2:83 And when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, "Do not worship except Allah, and be good to parents, relatives, orphans and the needy, and speak good to people, and establish the prayer and give the zakah (charity). Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing.

42:37 And those who avoid the greater sins and the immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive, … 42:40 The recompense for an evil is an evil like it. But whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, then his reward is on Allah. Indeed, He does not like the wrongdoers.

5:54 O you who believe, whoever among you turns back from his religion, then soon Allah (will) bring a people whom He loves and they love Him, humble towards the believers (and) stern (a’izzatin) towards the disbelievers; striving in (the) way (of) Allah and not fearing the blame (of) a critic. That (is the) Grace (of) Allah, He grants (to) whom He wills. And Allah (is) All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.

(Verse 5:54 tells about being stern towards the disbelievers. The root of “a’izzatin” (stern) is “Ayn-Zay-Zay”, and it means “mighty / potent / powerful / strong, noble / honourable, invencible, overcome (e.g. in argument), exalt, prevail, proud and hard manner, stern, etc.”)(The context of Verses 5:51-59 is that disbelievers take the call for prayer in ridicule and fun (5:58), Christians and Jews resent Muslims (5:59), and the Verses mention the words “striving” (5:54), “victory” (5:52) and “ally, allies” (5:51, 5:55, 5:56, 5:57), which suggests that the context is fighting)(In Islam, fighting is in self-defense and against oppression, so Muslims are doing in response to what disbelievers previously did (e.g. bad deeds of disbelievers, against Muslims))(Allah knows best)

4:58 Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice. Indeed, Allah excellently advises you with it. Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
