Do the Jews have to follow the Qur’an / Islam?

Do the Jews have to follow the Qur’an / Islam?

2:40 O Children of Israel, remember My Favor which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill My Covenant, I will fulfill your covenant, and fear Me and Me alone.

(The Qur’an is also addressed to the Children of Israel, about that which they have to do, which is the same than that which Muslims have to do, and the whole mankind should do. (E.g. “do not say about God except the truth” (7:169), “do not worship except God” (2:83); “be good to parents, relatives, orphans and the needy (2:83); “speak good to people” (2:83); “establish the prayer and give the zakah” (2:83); “do not shed your blood and nor evict yourselves from your homes” (2:84))(But the Jews deviated from the religion, and many of them turned the religion into the racist, xenophobic, and murderous group that they are today)(Allah knows best)

7:169 Then succeeded them successors (who) inherited the Book taking goods (of) this lower (life) and they say, "It will be forgiven for us." And if similar goods come to them, they will take it. Was not (the) Covenant (of) the Book taken on them that they will not say about Allah except the truth while they studied what (is) in it? And the home (of) the Hereafter (is) better for those who fear Allah. So will you not use intellect?

2:83 And when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, "Do not worship except Allah, and be good to parents, relatives, orphans and the needy, and speak good to people, and establish the prayer and give the zakah (charity). Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing. 2:84 And when We took your covenant, "Do not shed your blood and nor evict yourselves from your homes," then you ratified while you were witnessing.

3:79 It is not for any human to whom Allah has given the Book, and the wisdom, and Prophethood to say to the people, "Be my worshipers besides Allah,” but "Be worshipers of the Lord because you have been teaching the Book and you have been studying." 3:80 And he will not order you to take the Angels, and the Prophets as lords. Would he order you to disbelief after you (have become) Muslims? 3:81 And when Allah took the covenant of the Prophets, "Certainly, whatever I have given you of the Book and the wisdom, then there comes to you a Messenger confirming that which is with you, you must believe in him and you must help him." He said, "Do you affirm and take on that (condition) My Covenant?” They said, "We affirm." He said, "Then bear witness, and I (am) with you among the witnesses."

(The covenant of the Prophets is that if “there comes to you a Messenger confirming that which is with you, you must believe in him and you must help him” (3:81). Jesus and Muhammad confirmed that which is with them, and came with clear proofs, so the Jews had to obey Jesus, and now they have to obey Muhammad (2:285, 24:47, 26:125, 5:92, 4:64, 64:12). He who obeys the Messengers, he is obeying God (4:80))(Allah knows best)

61:6 And when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."

(According to the Gospel (Matthew 15:24), and the Qur’an (3:49), Jesus was only sent to the Children of Israel. Jesus announced to the Children of Israel the coming of Muhammad (61:6), so Jews are required to follow Muhammad / the Qur’an. Muhammad was sent to the whole mankind (7:158, 34:28, 3:96, 21:107, 6:19, 36:70), including Jews and Christians. Those who deny the Verses of the Qur’an are disbelievers (2:91, 52:33-34, 46:10, 10:95-97, 23:38-39, 40:70))(See the link below “Is Muhammad mentioned in the Bible?”)(Allah knows best)

41:44 And if We had made a Qur’an in a foreign (language), they would have said, "Why are its Verses not explained in detail? Is it a foreign (language) and an Arab?" Say, "It is for those who believe, a guidance and a healing." And those who do not believe, there is deafness in their ears, and it is for them blindness. Those are being called from a far place."

(Those who complain because the language of the Qur’an was in Arabic, according to this Verse, if the Qur’an had been revealed in any other language, they would have not believed anyhow, so they use it as an excuse. So the answer to them is “it is for those who believe, a guidance and a healing”, regardless of someone’s native language)(Allah knows best)

26:198 And if We had revealed it to anyone of the foreigners. 26:199 And he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 26:200 Thus We have inserted it into the hearts of the criminals.

(Similarly, those who complain because the Messenger was Arab, according to this Verse, if the Messenger had been non-Arab and was to recite it to them (the criminals), they would have not believed anyhow, so they use it as an excuse)(Allah knows best)

3:85 And whoever seeks other than Islam as religion - then never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be from the losers.

(Islam is an Arabic word meaning “submission (to God). That’s the religion preached by all Messengers)(In regard to Judaism, their religion is named after Judah, which is the name of one of Jacob’s twelve sons. Judah was the ancestor of one of the tribes of Israel (tribe of Judah), which was named after him. So, the name was invented, long time after the Messengers. The true religion is not named after a person)(At first, the word “Jew” established lineage (tribe of Judah), not religion, but now it is used in regard to religion, whether he is from the tribe of Judah or from another tribe; but, Judaism differs from the correct religion, so the Messengers / Prophets were not “Jews” in regard to religion)(Allah knows best)

22:78 And strive for Allah with the striving which is due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you any difficulty in the religion. The religion of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before, and in this, that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over mankind. So establish prayer and give zakah (charity) and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protector - so an Excellent Protector and an Excellent Helper.

(“Muslim” is an Arabic word meaning "one who submits (to God)". By definition, all Prophets were Muslims)(Allah knows best)

3:95 Say, Allah has told the truth, then follow the religion of Abraham, upright; and he was not of the polytheists. 3:96 Indeed, the first House set up for mankind was that at Bakkah, blessed and a guidance for the worlds. 3:97 In it are clear signs, the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it - is safe. And to Allah upon the people is a pilgrimage to the House – for whoever is able to it a way. And whoever disbelieves - then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.

(Muslims follow the religion of Abraham. This is ordered in the Qur’an. If you do not follow the religion of Abraham, you are not submitting to God)(It is not a new religion, the first House set up for mankind was that at Mecca. It was built by Abraham and Ishmael, and it was the standing place of Abraham (3:95-97))(Allah knows best)

2:127 And when Abraham was raising the foundations of the House and Ishmael, "Our Lord, accept from us. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. … 2:129 Our Lord, raise up in them a Messenger, who will recite to them Your Verses and will teach the Book and the wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."

12:38 And I follow the religion of my forefathers, Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob. It was not for us to associate anything with Allah. That is from the Grace of Allah upon us, and upon the mankind, but most of the men are not grateful.

10:37 And it was not that this Qur’an could be produced by other than Allah, but (it is) a confirmation of that which was before it and a detailed explanation of the Book, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

(The Qur’an confirms the Bible (10:37), because “that which was before it” is interpreted as the previous Books (Torah, Gospel,…), while “Book” might refer to a Book well-guarded (56:78, 52:2-3, 13:39), but might also refer to the Bible, because Christians and Jews are called “people of the Book” (so, they had revelations from the Book well-guarded as well))(Bible means “Books”; and Qur’an means “Recitation”))(Allah knows best)

27:76 Indeed, this Qur’an relates to the Children of Israel most of that (concerning which) they differ in it.

3:3 He revealed to you the Book in truth which confirms that which was before it and He revealed the Torah and the Gospel. 3:4 Before (this), as guidance for mankind. And (He) revealed the Criterion. Verily, those who disbelieved in the Verses of Allah, for them is a severe punishment. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Able of retribution.

(The Qur’an is a Criterion to know what is true, so the Qur’an does not confirm that, in the Bible, which contradicts the Qur’an. On the other hand, the Bible contradicts itself, and Jews and Christians innovated concepts, so a Criterion and New Revelation was needed, to confirm the religion of Abraham)(Allah knows best)

2:183 O you who believe, fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, so that you may become righteous.

(Fasting is a matter that was and is prescribed)(Allah knows best)

5:43 But how can they appoint you a judge while they have with them the Torah, wherein is the Command of Allah , then they turn away after that? And those are not believers. 5:44 Indeed, We revealed the Torah wherein was Guidance and light. The Prophets who submitted judged by it for the Jews, as did the Rabbis and the scholars as they were entrusted with the Book of Allah and they were witnesses to it. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not sell My Verses for a little price. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, then those are the disbelievers.

(Verse 5:43 is speaking about disbelievers, who are hypocrites because they do not believe or follow the Command of Allah in the Torah, then how can they appoint Muhammad a judge, while Muhammad is in fact following the Command of Allah?)(The Prophets who judged by the Torah were Muslims (aka “submitted”)(5:44). People have to judge by the Qur’an; it is not in contradiction with “judging by the Torah”, because the Qur’an confirms that which God revealed in the Torah and the Gospel (10:37), but the Qur’an does not confirm that which God did not reveal (e.g. man-made concepts in Judaism and Christianity))(See also the links below “Does the Qur'an replace the Bible?” and “Is the Bible corrupted?”)(Allah knows best)

5:42 Listeners of falsehood, devourers of the forbidden. So if they come to you, then judge between them or turn away from them. And if you turn away from them, then they will never harm you in anything. And if you judge, then judge between them with justice. Indeed, Allah loves those who are just.

(Verse 5:42, which is previous to the one mentioned before (5:43), confirms that the Messenger can judge between them. Muhammad, the Messenger of God, judged with the Qur’an (4:105, 5:49, 6:114))(Allah knows best)

6:114 "Then is it other than Allah I should seek as judge, while He is the One Who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail?" And those to whom We gave the Book know that it is sent down from your Lord in truth, so do not be among the doubters.

(The Prophet judged with the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

7:156 And ordain for us good in this world, and in the Hereafter. Indeed, we have turned to You." He said, "I afflict with My punishment whom I will, but My Mercy encompasses everything. So I will ordain it for those who are righteous and give zakah (charity) and those who believe in Our Verses. 7:157 Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Gospel. He commands them to the right and forbids them from the wrong, and he makes lawful for them the pure things and makes unlawful for them the impure things and he relieves them of their burden and the fetters which were upon them. So those who believe in him, and honor him, and help him and follow the light, which has been sent down with him, those are the successful ones."

(The Messenger relieves people of their burden and fetters. In that sense, the law was more severe for the Jews because of their wrongdoing. For example, it was more severe in the matter of the Sabbath (16:124), so the Qur’an relieves them)(See the link below “How the Qur’an corrects Judaism?”)(Allah knows best)

4:160 Then for the wrongdoing of those who were Jews, We made unlawful for them good things which had been lawful for them, and for their hindering many from the way of Allah.

(The law was more severe for those who did wrong. Verse 7:157 says that Muhammad relieves of their burden and the fetters, and Verse 16:123 says that it was revealed to Muhammad to follow the religion of Abraham. So, an older religion (Islam) is restored)(Allah knows best)

16:123 Then We revealed to you to follow the religion of Abraham, upright; and he was not of those who associate." 16:124 The Sabbath was only appointed for those who differed in it. And indeed, your Lord will surely judge between them on the Day of Resurrection in that over which they used to differ.

(Muslims follow the religion of Abraham, so they leave trade on Friday (62:9). Verses 16:123-124 implicitly say that Friday was also appointed for the Jews, because Verse 16:124 says that the Sabbath was only appointed for those who differed in it; according to the context, “it” refers to “following the religion of Abraham” (16:123), so, they differed in following the religion of Abraham, then they were burdened with the sabbath)(Allah knows best)

4:47 O you who (have) been given the Book, believe in what We (have) revealed confirming what is with you, before We efface faces and turn them on their backs or We curse them as We cursed companions of the Sabbath. And the command of Allah is executed.

(According to Verse 4:47, Jews and Christians have to believe in the Qur’an, so they have to follow the religion of Abraham. The companions of the Sabbath were cursed before, because they differed in the religion of Abraham)(Allah knows best)

5:13 So for their breaking of their covenant We cursed them and We made their hearts hard. They distort words from their places, and forgot a part of what they were reminded of. And you will not cease to discover treachery from them except a few of them. But forgive them and overlook. Indeed, Allah loves the good-doers. 5:14 And from those who said, Indeed we are Christians," We took their covenant; but they forgot a part of what they were reminded of. So We aroused enmity and hatred between them until the Day of Resurrection. And soon Allah will inform them of what they used to do.

(Both Jews and Christians forgot a part of what they were reminded. For example, Jews do not believe in Hell, but some verses about “hell” remained in their scripture: according to Daniel 12:2, “multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt”; Psalm 145:20 says, “The Lord preserves all who love him, but all the wicked He will destroy”; Psalm 78:65-66 says, “then the Lord awoke as from sleep, as a warrior wakes from the stupor of wine. He beat back his enemies; he put them to everlasting shame”)(People cannot follow a religion with man-made additions and deletions. On the other hand, Islam is God’s religion, and is completed and perfected (5:3))(The Bible is not a reliable source. See the link below, “is the Bible corrupted?”)(Allah knows best)

6:91 And they did not appraise Allah with His true appraisal, when they said, "Allah did not reveal to a human being anything." Say, "Who revealed the Book which Moses brought as light and guidance for the people? You make it into parchments, disclosing and concealing much. And you were taught that which you did not know – neither you nor your forefathers." Say, "Allah." Then leave them to play in their discourse.

2:120 And the Jews and the Christians will never be pleased with you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the Guidance of Allah is the Guidance." And if you follow their desires after what has come to you of the knowledge, you will have neither any protector from Allah nor any helper.

(According to this Verse, Jews and Christians do not follow the correct religion anymore, but they follow their desires, instead of obeying God)(Allah knows best)

2:135 And they said, "Be Jews or Christians, then you will be guided." Say, "Nay, the religion of Abraham, the upright; and he was not of those who associated partners."

(According to Verse 2:135, Jews and Christians do not follow the true religion anymore)(Muslims follow the religion of Abraham, so it is not a new religion, and according to the Qur’an, Jews or Christians might differ from the true religion in what they concealed of the Book (6:91, 2:143), and in what they forgot (5:13), and in what they were burdened for their wrongdoing (16:124, 4:160), and in what they innovated (57:27), and in following their desires (2:120, 5:48), and in committing excess in their religion (4:171), etc.)(Allah knows best)

9:31 They have taken their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah, son of Mary, as Lords besides Allah. And they were not commanded except to worship One God. There is no god except Him. Glory be to Him from what they associate.

(In regard to their waiting for the Messiah. Jesus was the Messiah. According to the site “jewfaq”, the messianic concept comes from Isaiah 2, 11, 42, 59:20, Jeremiah 23, 30, 33, 48:47, 49:39, Ezekiel 38:16, Hosea 3:4-5, Micah 4, Zephaniah 3:9, Zechariah 14:9 and Daniel 10:14, but the specific expression “the Messiah” does not occur in the Tanakh (Torah, Nevi’im and Ketuvim), so the Jews falsely attributed specific events to the coming of a “Messiah”, other than Jesus (e.g. the return of Jews to their homeland and the rebuilding of the Temple, etc.). And since Jews believe that none of these events occurred during the time of Jesus (nor have they occurred afterwards), he was not the Messiah. But, according to the context, for example, Ezekiel 38:21 mentions the word “sword”, and Ezekiel 38:15 mentions the words “riding on horses” (instead of “cars” or “airplanes”), so it suggests that the stories in Ezekiel refer to something that already happened, or to the past, not to a future event, so the Jews are wrongly attributing events to the coming of a “Messiah”, other than Jesus. Likewise, Isaiah 30:16 speaks about riding horses, and there is no mention of the word “Messiah”, but someone is called “branch” in Isaiah 11:1-9. Jeremiah also used the name “branch” in Jer. 23:5-8, but there is no mention of the word “Messiah”)(The Jews rightly say that the Messiah is not God, so they use Christian’s divinization of Jesus as an excuse, to reject him as the Messiah, while Jesus never claimed divinity, but the Jews themselves invented it in order to have an excuse to kill him, and such falsehood became the foundation of Christian religion. See the link below “Is Jesus God or the son of God?”)(Allah knows best)

3:105 And do not be like those who became divided and differed after the clear proofs came to them. And they will have a great punishment.

62:6 Say, "O you who are Jews, if you claim that you are allies of Allah , excluding the people, then wish for death, if you are truthful."

(The Jews took their ethnicity and a land as their religion, but if they were true believers, they would not become divided (from believers), and would not take as allies those among them who are polytheists (Messianic Jews who are trinitarian) and atheists. The Jews accept these groups as long as their mother is Jewish (which makes them to be a Jew like them), regardless of their faith. See the links below “Does the Qur'an say that Palestine/Israel belongs to the Muslims or to the Jews?” and “Into which two groups is mankind divided? Is Jews vs. Gentiles a correct division?”)(Allah knows best)

4:144 O you who believe, do not take the disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do you wish to make for Allah a clear evidence against yourselves?

2:140 Or do you say that Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the descendants were Jews or Christians?" Say, "Are you more knowing or is Allah?" And who is more unjust than one who conceals a testimony he has from Allah? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

(The Messengers weren’t Jews or Christians. See the link below “Were the Prophets Jews or Christians?”)(Allah knows best)

6:19 Say, "What thing is greatest as a testimony?" Say, "Allah is Witness between me and you. And this Qur’an has been revealed to me so that I may warn you with it and whoever it reaches. Do you truly testify that there are other gods with Allah?" Say, "I do not testify." Say, "He is but One God, and indeed, I am free of what you associate.

7:158 Say, "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, to Whom is the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no god except Him, He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in Allah and His Words, and follow him so that you may be guided."

3:96 Indeed, the first House set up for mankind was that at Bakkah, blessed and a guidance for the worlds.

34:28 And We have not sent you except to all mankind, as a giver of glad tidings and as a warner. But most people do not know.

(Muhammad was sent to all mankind, including Jews and Christians)(Allah knows best)

21:107 And We have not sent you, except as a mercy for the worlds.

36:70 To warn him who is alive, and the Word may be proved true against the disbelievers.

6:155 And this is a blessed Book which We have revealed, so follow it and fear so that you may receive mercy. 6:156 Lest you say, "The Book was only revealed to the two groups before us, and indeed we were certainly unaware about their study."

50:45 We know best what they say, and you are not the one to compel them. But remind with the Qur’an whoever fears My threat.

9:63 Do they not know that he who opposes Allah and His Messenger, that for him is the Fire of Hell, wherein (he will) abide forever? That is the disgrace, the great.

34:31 And those who disbelieve say, "We will never believe in this Qur’an and not in (that) which (was) before it." But if you (could) see when the wrongdoers will be made to stand before their Lord, throw(ing) back some of them to others the word. Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "If not (for) you, certainly we (would) have been believers." … 34:38 And those who strive against Our Verses (to) cause failure, those (will be) brought into the punishment.

(Verse 34:31 confirms that those who do not believe in the Qur’an are disbelievers)(Allah knows best)

3:64 Say, "O People of the Book, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we worship none except Allah, nor we associate any partners with Him and that we will not take others as lords besides Allah." Then if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims."

(The people of the Book are the ones who have to come to a word that is equitable between Muslims and them. You worship God by following the Qur’an. But people of the Book obey / take some people as lords besides God)(Allah knows best)

9:30 And the Jews said, "Uzair is son of Allah." And the Christians said, "Messiah is son of Allah." That is their saying with their mouths, they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before. (May) Allah destroy them. How deluded are they.

(According to Verse 9:30, the concept “son of God” is not from God, but from those who disbelieved before, so this “Hebrew” concept is wrong. See also the link below: “Was Uzair called the son of God?”)(Allah knows best)

5:18 And the Jews and the Christians said "We are the children of Allah and His beloved." Say, "Then why does He punish you for your sins?" Nay, you are human beings from among those He created. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And for Allah is the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and to Him is the final return.

18:4 And to warn those who say, "Allah has taken a son."

3:100 O you who believe, if you obey a group from those who were given the Book they will turn you back, after your belief, (as) disbelievers.

46:10 Say, "Do you see if it is from Allah, and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel testifies to the like thereof, then he believed, while you are arrogant?" Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

(A party from among the Children of Israel believed in Jesus and Muhammad, and they became Muslims (aka submitted to God))(Allah knows best)

3:98 Say, "O People of the Book, why do you disbelieve in the Verses of Allah, while Allah is a Witness over what you do?" 3:99 Say, "O People of the Book, why do you hinder those who believe from the way of Allah, seeking to make it (seem) crooked, while you are witnesses? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

4:46 Among the Jews are those who distort words from their places and they say, "We hear and disobey" and "Hear but be not heard” and "Raina", twisting their tongues and defaming the religion. And if they had said, "We hear and obey" and "Hear and look at us”, it would surely have been better for them and more suitable. [And] but Allah cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.

21:107 And We have not sent you, except as a mercy for the worlds. 21:108 Say, "It is only revealed to me that your god is One God; so will you submit/be Muslims?"

22:34 And for every nation We have appointed a rite, that they may mention (the) name (of) Allah over what He (has) provided them of (the) beast (of) cattle. And your God (is) God One, so submit to Him. And give glad tidings (to) the humble ones.

(Verse 22:34 is not about other nations following other than Islam (aka Submission (to God)), but the context is about a rite with cattle, over which every nation may mention the name of Allah)(Allah knows best)

22:67 For every (walikulli) nation We have made rites which they perform. So do not let them dispute with you in the matter, but invite to your Lord. Indeed, you surely are on straight guidance.

(Verse 22:67 might be explained by Verse 22:34. Notice that these Verses do not say “different rites”, but the point is that each nation has to make a rite with the cattle)(Verse 22:67 says “do not let them dispute with you in the matter, but invite to your Lord”. So, they are not to contradict Muhammad in the matter of the rites, but Muhammad is the one who invite them. So, they are following other than what they should follow. Muhammad invites them because they are required to become Muslims)(Verses 21:92 and 23:52 confirm that the Prophets’ religion is one religion, “And indeed this, your religion, is one religion”. And Verse 3:85 says, “whoever seeks other than Islam as religion - then never will it be accepted from him”)(Consider that the word “kulli” (22:67), translated as “every”, also means “all”. So, according to the context, it should be interpreted that it is the same rite for “all” nations, because Verse 22:34 tells you what is the (that same) rite about: “that they may mention (the) name (of) Allah over what He (has) provided them of (the) beast (of) cattle”)(Allah knows best)

21:92 Indeed, this is your religion – one religion, and I Am your Lord, so worship Me.

23:52 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion. And I Am your Lord, so fear Me. 23:53 But they cut off their affair between them into sects, each faction rejoices in what they have.

3:103 And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together, and do not be divided. And remember the Favor of Allah on you when you were enemies, then He made friendship between your hearts then by His Favor you became brothers. And you were on the brink of the pit of the Fire, then He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes clear for you His Verses so that you may be guided. … 3:105 And do not be like those who became divided and differed after the clear proofs came to them. And they will have a great punishment.

3:83 So is (it) other than the religion of Allah they seek? While to Him (have) submitted whatever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will be returned.

42:13 He has ordained for you of the religion what He enjoined upon Noah, and that which We have revealed to you, and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not to be divided therein. Difficult for the polytheists is that to which you call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides to Himself whoever turns.

(According to Jewish tradition, non-Jews should only follow the “seven laws of Noah”. So, they try to prevent non-Jews from the rites/obligations, because many things are not mentioned in those seven laws. For example, fasting is prescribed for all of humanity, so, the Jews were concealing other prescribed rites by mentioning only seven)(Allah knows best)

5:68 Say, "O People of the Book, you are not on anything until you stand firmly by the Torah and the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord. And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in rebellion and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people. 5:69 Indeed, those who believed and those who are Jews and the Sabians and the Christians, whoever believed in Allah and the Last Day and did good deeds, then no fear on them, nor will they grieve. 5:70 Certainly We took a Covenant from the Children of Israel and We sent to them Messengers. Whenever any Messenger came to them with what their souls did not desire, a group they denied and a group they kill.

(Jews and Christians are required to follow the Qur’an (“what has been revealed to you from your Lord” (5:68)))(Once the Qur’an was revealed to people, they must believe in the Qu’ran, so they would use it as a Criterion over previous Scriptures (3:3-4))(Verse 5:69 specifies “those who believed”, so Verse 5:69 could refer, for example, to early Christians who were not trinitarians, and the early people who did not read or receive the Qur’an, and those who believed in God, the Last Day and did good deeds (5:69). It does not refer to those who reject the Qur’an, because those who reject the Verses of the Qur’an are disbelievers (29:47, 84:22, 2:91, 52:33-34, 46:10, 10:95-97, 23:38-39, 40:70))(Verse 5:70 confirms that the Children of Israel denied the Messengers, while they are required to stand firmly by the Torah and the Gospel (5:68). And now they have to stand firmly by the Qur’an, which is a Criterion over previous Scriptures, and is implicitly mentioned in Verse 5:68 (“and what has been revealed to you from your Lord”). The Qur’an invalidates any falsehood they may have innovated)(Allah knows best)

68:44 So/(then) leave Me and whoever denies this Statement, We will progressively lead them from where they (do) not know.

22:57 And those who disbelieved and denied Our Verses, then for them (will be) a humiliating punishment.

17:81 And say, "Truth has come, and falsehood perished. Indeed, the falsehood is (bound) to perish."

3:23 Have you not seen [to] those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to (the) Book (of) Allah that (it should) arbitrate between them, then a party of them turns away and they (are) those who are averse.

54:42 They denied Our Signs/Verses, all of them, so We seized them (with) a seizure (of the) All-Mighty, (the) Powerful One.

54:43 Are your disbelievers better than those, or for you (is) an exemption in

5:15 O People of the Book, surely there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture and overlooking much. Surely there has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book.

2:91 And when it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah has revealed," they say, "We believe in what was revealed to us." And they disbelieve in what is besides it, while it is the truth confirming that which is with them. Say, "Then why did you kill the Prophets of Allah before, if you were believers?"
