Does the Qur’an support following the hadith (a saying attributed to Prophet Muhammad) and the Sunnah (traditions and practices attributed to Prophet Muhammad)? Verses used by people in favor and against the hadith

Does the Qur’an support following the hadith (a saying attributed to Prophet Muhammad) and the Sunnah (traditions and practices attributed to Prophet Muhammad)? Verses used by people in favor and against the hadith

4:59 O you who believe, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those having authority among you. Then if you disagree in anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is best and more suitable (for) determination.

(According to Verse 4:59, you can disagree with those having authority, but not with Allah and the Messenger. So, the Verse allows you to disagree with those having authority, then in that case, you “refer it to Allah and the Messenger” (4:59). But, in order to refer it to the Messenger, the Verse does not explicitly say that there is a “hadith” (other than the Qur’an) in order to obey the Messenger. But the Qur’an says that he who obeys the Messenger then he surely obeyed Allah (4:80), and you obey Allah by following the Qur’an (6:155, 10:15, 7:203-204). The Messenger only follows that which is revealed to him (46:9, 75:18-19, 7:203-204), but he does not make any rule (5:3, 5:4, 4:176, 4:127, 42:10))(Some people interpret that the Messenger was to be obeyed in his lifetime, in this world. Now there is the hadith by which Sunnis, Shiites and so-called Qur’anists disagree. That’s not an excuse or reason to argue or fight each other, but believers are commanded not to be divided (3:103, 3:105, 6:159). The intentional killing of a believer is severely and eternally punished (4:93); and fighting is in self-defense (2:190, 4:90, 60:8), and against oppression (49:9-10, 16:90); and there is freedom of religion in Islam (2:256, 109:6, 17:107, 42:15, 28:55, 39:15, 50:45, 10:99-100, 10:41, 81:27-28, 33:28, 18:29, 6:108, 17:84), so people can believe or disbelieve in it. The hadith can never contradict the Qur’an (4:82); the scholars are in agreement that the hadith ranks second, after the Qur’an. The Qur’an is the Criterion (2:185) to know what is right or wrong, not otherwise)(Those who are to be obeyed, they follow God’s Command. This is confirmed by Verse 7:203 “Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord”)(Obeying the Messenger is not because the Messenger decided it, but it is commanded by God, so you do not worship the Messenger, but you worship God by following His Command. So, when you read the hadith, you must consider that it cannot contradict the Qur’an, and Muhammad did not make new rules)(Enjoining that which is right and forbidding that which is wrong (103:3, 3:114, 9:71) does not imply that there is no freedom of religion, but, for example, it is about instructing your children, or good manners, etc. Non-Muslims do likewise according to their ideas)(Allah knows best)

36:25 Indeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me."

(Those having authority must be believers)(Allah knows best)

4:64 And We did not send any Messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allah . And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, surely they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful.

(Verse 4:64 might prove that it refers to the time of the Messengers, in which a person can “come” (4:64) to them)(The root of “hadith” is “Ha-Dal-Thaa”, and it means “something new / recent, it came into existence, began to be, originated, had a beginning, existed newly for the first time, to relate discourse, story / report / narration / statement / tale. hadathu – a novelty or new thing, an innovation, a thing not known before. hadith – tiding, talk, discourse, tale, story”)(According to some definitions of the word “hadith”, something defined as “new” or “existed newly for the first time” might be in contradiction with the Qur’an, because the Qur’an is a confirmation of the previous Scriptures (10:37), not something new; and God revealed to Muhammad the religion of Abraham (16:123), so, Islam is not a new religion, but the Qur’an is restoring or confirming the religion of Abraham, after people’s deviation)(Another dictionary says that “hadith” means “to happen”. Something that “happens” is not necessarily a command to the people in order to be obeyed, but it could be an observation, then disregarding it, is not a matter of disobedience. Some matters were only addressed to the Prophet)(Allah knows best)

59:7 What Allah restored to His Messenger from the people of the towns, it is for Allah and His Messenger and for the kindred and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, that it may not become a circulation between the rich among you. And whatever the Messenger gives you, take it; and whatever he forbids you from it, refrain. And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.

(Verse 59:7 is in the context of provision, so it is not about the Messenger making new rules)(According to Verse 66:1, “O Prophet, why do you prohibit what Allah has made lawful for you”, so if the Messenger forbids you from something, it is something that Allah forbids, because no one can invent a lie about Allah. Verse 16:116 says, “And do not say about what your tongues assert, a lie, "This is lawful and this is forbidden," so that you invent a lie about Allah. Indeed, those who invent a lie about Allah, they will not succeed.”)(Allah knows best)

66:1 O Prophet, why do you prohibit what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(Verse 66:1 tells a case in which the Prophet prohibits something that Allah did not prohibit, then, in this case, the Prophet’s prohibition should not be a source of Law or a rule to be followed. In that sense, the hadith cannot contradict the Qur’an anyhow)(Allah knows best)

2:176 That (is) because Allah revealed/(has sent down) the Book with/(in) [the] Truth. And indeed, those who differed in the Book (are) surely in schism far.

4:65 But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you judge about what arises between them, then they find in themselves no discomfort from what you have decided and submit in submission.

(The Prophet judges between them (4:65) with the Book (4:105). “Judging” does not imply “making new rules”, but you judge people using the Scripture (4:105)(e.g. the Qur’an))(Allah knows best)

4:105 Indeed, We have sent down to you the Book with the truth so that you may judge between the people with what Allah has shown you. And do not be a pleader for the deceitful.

(Verse 4:105 explicitly mentions the Book, so, that, with the Book, “you may judge between the people with that which Allah has shown you”)(Allah knows best)

5:4 They ask you what is made lawful for them. Say, "Lawful for you are the good things and what you have taught of hunting animals, ones who train animals to hunt, you teach them of what Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you, and mention the name of Allah on it, and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is swift in taking account.

(In regard to al-Bukhari’s collection of hadith telling about drinking urine, it contradicts Verse 5:4 in the Qur’an, “They ask you what is made lawful for them. Say, "Lawful for you are the good things”. Urinating is a method of expelling toxins, so drinking it is not a “good thing”. Even many scholars disagree with such hadith. Muhammad has a “great moral character (68:4), he would have never told people about drinking urine. Many non-Muslims use such hadith to defame and prevent people from Islam, while drinking urine is not part of Islam)(Another point about Verse 5:4 is that they ask the Prophet about that which is made lawful for them, and the Prophet recites that which God revealed to him in the Qur’an (“say,...”). The Prophet does not make any rule (5:4, 4:176, 4:127, 42:10))(Allah knows best)

2:233 And the mothers shall suckle their children for two complete years, for those who wish to complete the suckling. And upon the father is their provision and their clothing in a fair manner. No soul is burdened except its capacity. Neither shall the mother be made to suffer because of her child nor the father. And on the heirs (is a duty) like that. Then if they both desire weaning through mutual consent and consultation, then there is no blame on both of them. And if you want to ask another women to suckle your child then there is no blame on you, when you pay what you give in a fair manner. And fear Allah and know that Allah is All-Seer of what you do.

(A Hadith, by Sahih Muslim, contradicts/opposes the Qur’an, by saying that the Prophet allowed/ordered breastfeeding an adult. Some non-Muslims use that hadith against Islam. Verse 2:233 is clear, “the mothers shall suckle their children” for a maximum of two years, and when the children are babies (65:6), then, after those two years the suckling is completed (2:233), so there is no more suckling after that)(Allah knows best)

15:11 And no Messenger came to them but they mocked at him.

(Many hadiths were rejected by collectors because, at the time of the Prophet, the purpose of hadith was: mocking, defaming the religion, etc.)(Some hadith were not rejected, and are used by non-Muslims to mock the religion, so it suggests that the purpose of some non-rejected hadith was the same than the rejected ones. On the other hand, there is nothing in the Qur’an to mock at it. Likewise, some people’s explanations of the Qur’an are used to mock, but not the Qur’an in Itself)(Allah knows best)

9:9 They exchange the Verses of Allah for a little price, and they hinder from His way. Indeed, evil is what they used to do. … 9:12 And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief, indeed, their oaths are nothing to them - so that they may cease.

(An alleged information from the time of the Prophet does not make it reliable in itself, just because it is older, but there was constant defamation, during the lifetime of the Prophet, and after him)(Allah knows best)

17:81 And say, "Truth has come, and falsehood perished. Indeed, the falsehood is (bound) to perish."

(A point or paradox is that no one compiled any hadith until after around 200 years after the time of the Prophet, and there is a hadith about the Prophet saying, “do not write anything from me; whoever has written anything from me other than the Qur’an, let him erase it”. And Al-Qaadi said, “there were many disputes among the Sahaabah (companions of the Prophet) and the “Taabi’een” (successors who received Muhammad’s teachings second hand) concerning the writing down of knowledge. Many of them regarded this as being makrooh (disliked / disapproved), but most of them regarded it as permissible. This dispute is no longer an issue”. So, the hadith was a controversial matter from the beginning of its existence. It might imply disobedience to the Messenger, if it was really forbidden to write it down. And nowadays, people is following that which the majority of scholars decided, despite of many scholars disapproved it. Another point is that a majority is not always right in itself, and a minority is not always wrong just because they are a minority, actually, the Qur’an says that most of people are disbelievers. Verse 12:103 says, “most of the mankind will not be believers, even though you desire”, and Verse 12:106 says, “And most of them (do) not believe in Allah except while they associate partners with Him.”. Verse 6:116 says, “And if you obey most of those on the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah”)(And another point is that the collectors of the hadith “rejected/denied” most of hadith; for example, according to the article “Sahih Muslim” in wikipedia, “out of 300,000 hadith which he evaluated, approximately 4,000 were extracted for inclusion into his collection”, so he rejected 296,000 hadith. Another example, “it is reported that Imam Malik selected for inclusion into the Muwatta just over 1900 narrations, from the 100,000 narrations he had available to him” (source: article “Muwatta Imam Malik” in wikipedia), and so on. If the hadith collector had made one single mistake by rejecting a saying of the Prophet, among those 296,000 he rejected, then, is he disobeying or disbelieving in the Messenger or opposing Islam? So, the point is that there must be freedom of religion, so that everyone accepts or rejects according to his knowledge, the hadith collectors did likewise. Even if someone rejects them all, he does it according to his own knowledge, and for his own benefit or harm)(So, actually every single person in this world is somehow a denier of hadith, because 99% of the hadith was rejected by the collectors, but some of those collectors are considered infallible in selecting 1% of those hadith. If 99% of hadith were wrong, it indicates and proves that there was a lot of falsehood going around. 99% is such a high percentage, to the point that, for many people, it makes the remaining 1% to be suspicious or dubious)(People also use the hadith to validate that they can write down the hadith (hadith supporting hadith), instead of searching support from the Qur’an, to validate the hadith. And the authors were not Messengers, but they are validated/authorized by people (people supporting people), instead of by the Qur’an, which does not explicitly support the hadith or its collectors)(Allah knows best)

10:35 Say, "Is there of your partners (any) who guides to the truth?" Say, "Allah guides to the truth. Is then (he) who guides to the truth more worthy that he should bellowed or (he) who does not guide, unless he is guided? Then what is for you, how do you judge?" 10:36 And most of them follow nothing except assumption. Indeed, assumption does not avail anything against the truth. Indeed, Allah is All-Knower of what they do.

4:69 And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - then those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the Prophets, and the truthful, and the martyrs, and the righteous. And excellent are those (as) companions.

4:80 He who obeys the Messenger then he surely obeyed Allah, and whoever turns away - then We have not sent you over them as a guardian

(He who obeys the Messenger, then obeyed God, because the Messenger only follows that which is revealed to him from God)(Verse 18:26 says, “He does not share His Commands with anyone”. And Verse 53:3 says, about the Messenger, “he does not speak from the desire”)(Allah knows best)

53:2 Your companion has not strayed, nor has he erred, 53:3 And he does not speak from the desire. 53:4 It is not except a revelation revealed,

(One interpretation is that “it” in Verse 53:4 refers to the Qur’an, so it is not his own desire, but it is revealed by God)(Allah knows best)

3:161 And not is for a Prophet that he defrauds. And whoever defrauds will bring what he had defrauded (on the) Day (of) Resurrection. Then every soul is repaid in full what it earned and they (will) not be wronged.

(A Prophet is not infallible or perfect (neither people who told stories about the Prophet), so he is warned in Verses 3:161 and 69:44-46. But in regard to Muhammad’s duty of conveying the Qur’an, he did not err (53:2-4), because Verse 53:2 says that he has not erred, referring to the Qur’an (53:4 “It is not except a revelation revealed”))(Allah knows best)

7:157 Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written in what they have - the Torah and the Gospel. He commands them to the right and forbids them from the wrong, and he makes lawful for them the pure things and makes unlawful for them the impure things and he relieves them of their burden and the fetters which were upon them. So those who believe in him, and honor him, and help him and follow the light, which has been sent down with him, those are the successful ones."

(According to Verse 3:114, anyone could also enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, so this Verse does not imply that he can make new laws on his own)(In addition, Verse 7:157 says, “and follow the light which has been sent down with him”. Verse 5:15 says, “a light and a clear Book”, as if the light were other than the Book, but not necessarily, because Verse 5:16 clarifies that is about going out from darkness into light. On the other hand, Verse 5:46 confirms that the Gospel is Guidance and light, Verse 6:91 confirms that the Torah is light and guidance, and Verse 14:1 says about the Qur’an, “A Book which We have revealed to you, so that you may bring mankind out of darkness into light...”)(Notice that there is no mention of “sayings” of the Prophet, but only Scriptures are light or bring into light)(Allah knows best)

7:158 Say, "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, to Whom is the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no god except Him, He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in Allah and His Words, and follow him so that you may be guided."

4:83 And when there comes to them a matter about security or fear, they spread it. But if they had referred it to the Messenger and to those having authority among them, the ones who draw correct conclusions from it would surely have known it. And if not (for) the favor of Allah upon you and His Mercy, you would surely have followed Satan, except for a few.

(Verse 4:83 speaks about a specific matter, security or fear, instead of laws in Islam. In regard to those having authority, the Verse specifies, “the ones who draw correct conclusions”, so it is under that condition, instead of “those having authority and they do not draw correct conclusions”)(Someone who believes in the Qur’an, but does not believe in the hadith or tradition, then for him, disobeying the hadith does not imply disobeying the Prophet. There is freedom of religion in Islam, then he is not to be forced to follow the hadith or that which the authorities tell him to do (4:59). (Someone might be forced into matters which contradict the Qur’an, so disobeying those who try to force him would not imply that he is a disbeliever))(Allah knows best)

18:28 And be patient, yourself, with those who call their Lord in the morning and the evening, desiring His Face. And (let) not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornment of the life of the world, and do not obey (one) whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance, and follows his desires and is his affair (in) excess.

(“Remembrance” refers to the Qur’an (20:113, 39:23, 16:44). The Verse might suggest that other than the Qur’an might cause “following desires” and “excess”. Verse 18:28 says, “do not obey (one) whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance, and follows his desires and is his affair (in) excess”)(Allah knows best)

66:3 And when the Prophet confided a statement to one of his wives; and when she informed about it and Allah made it apparent (wa-azharahu) to him, he made known a part of it and avoided a part. Then when he informed her about it, she said, "Who informed you this?" He said, "The All-Knower, the All-Aware informed me."

(In regard to the question, “did the Prophet have revelations other than the Qur’an? In the case of Verse 66:3, It says, “when she informed about it and Allah made it apparent to him”. Notice that the Verse says, “she informed about it”, and Allah made that information apparent to the Prophet. So, it is not called revelation, and also she is not a Messenger in order to be a revelation)(Another point is that it is Muhammad’s private life, so the Verse does not specify what’s the matter about, and it is irrelevant, but people conjectured about this Verse, and some people even tried to defame the Messenger by inventing about that matter, as a result, there are two contradictory versions in the hadith. Contradiction proves that someone invented a falsehood, because the two versions cannot be right. See the article below: “Explanation of Verses 66:1-6: Incident of honey or Maria the Copt? Muhammad’s wife or concubine?”)(The root of “azhara” (apparent) is “Za-ha-Ra”, and it means “to appear, become distinct / clear / open / manifest, come out, ascend / mount, know, distinguish, be obvious, go forth, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

48:27 Certainly, Allah has fulfilled His Messenger's vision in truth. You will surely enter Al-Masjid Al-Haraam, if Allah wills, secure, having your heads shaved and shortened, not fearing. But He knew what you did not know, and He made, besides that, a near victory.

(In the case of Verse 48:27, it is called “Messenger’s vision”, not revelation. On the other hand, it does not say any new rule, or any order)(Allah knows best)

53:10 So he revealed to His slave what he revealed. 53:11 The heart did not lie what it saw. 53:12 Then will you dispute with him about what he saw?

(It is said that an Angel came to Muhammad to reveal the Qur’an. Verse 53:10 agrees with Verse 42:51, in that God speaks by sending a messenger; and that which the Angel brought down was the Qur’an (2:97); the Verses do not explicitly mention additional revelations)(Allah knows best)

42:51 And it is not for any human that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a veil or (by) sending a messenger then he reveals, by His permission, what He wills. Indeed, He is Most High, the Most Wise.

(The Qur’an was revealed by sending Gabriel (2:97). According to Verse 42:51, there are other ways to reveal, other than by sending a Messenger)(Allah knows best)

2:97 Say, "Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel - then indeed he brought it down upon your heart by the permission of Allah, confirming what (was) before it and a guidance and glad tidings for the believers." … 2:99 And indeed We revealed to you clear Verses, and none disbelieve in them except the defiantly disobedient.

81:19 Indeed, it (is) surely a word (of) a noble Messenger, 81:20 Possessor of power, with (the) Owner of the Throne secure, 81:21 One to be obeyed and trustworthy, 81:22 And your companion (is) not mad. 81:23 And certainly he saw him in the clear [the] horizon.

(In the case of Verses 81:19-23, the Messenger to be obeyed is Gabriel. Similarly, did Gabriel bring the Qur’an and a hadith? That which Gabriel brought down is a guidance, glad tidings and confirms that which was before (2:97). So, it refers to the Qur’an. In addition, Verse 2:99 specifies “We revealed to you clear Verses”)(Allah knows best)

2:129 Our Lord, raise up in them a Messenger, who will recite to them Your Verses and will teach (wayu’allimuhumu) the Book and the wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."

(The root of “yu’allimu” (teach) is “Ayn-Lam-Miim”, and it means “aware / know”. “Yu’allimu” means “to make someone know”; then “teaching” does not refer to “explaining the Book”. According to Verse 75:19, upon God is its explanation)(In regard to “purify them”, it could refer to taking from their wealth a charity by which he may purify them (9:103). And in regard to “wisdom”, it could refer to the Qur’an, because the Qur’an is a Wise Qur’an (36:2); so Verse 2:129 does not explicitly refer to revelations other than the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

62:2 He is the One Who sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His Verses, and purifying them and teaching them the Book and the wisdom although they were surely in clear error before.

36:2 By the Qur’an, the Wise.

2:151 As We sent among you a Messenger from you, who recites to you Our verses and purifies you and teaches you (wayu’allimukumu) the Book and the wisdom, and (wa) teaches you (wayu’allimukum) what you were not knowing.

(“Wa” (and) does not specify timing, so it could either refer to the same event, (making know the Book, wisdom and that which they were not knowing), or different events)(So, the Verse could imply that he makes you know the Qur’an, which you did not know before. This may be confirmed by Verse 10:16, “Say, "If Allah (had) willed, I (would) not have recited it to you, and He (would) have not made it known to you”)(Allah knows best)

3:164 Certainly did Allah bestow favor upon the believers when He raised among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them (wayu’allimuhumu) the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in clear error.

(Another point is that the Verse speaks about the present moment, when the Messenger was with them; once the Messenger is not with them, collectors collected hadith/sayings, after the Messenger, accepting them according to their own personal knowledge of the Qur’an, or trusting certain chain of narrators or alleged narrators. As a result, almost all hadith were rejected by the collectors themselves. The hadith cannot contradict the Qur’an, because there are no contradictions in Islam, and a hadith cannot abrogate any Verse of the Qur’an)(Another point is that you do not know what is in the heart or mind of the narrators or alleged narrators. People conjecture about their faith. They were not Prophets or Messengers)(Allah knows best)

62:2 He is the One Who sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His Verses, and purifying them and teaching them (wayu’allimuhumu) the Book and the wisdom although they were surely in clear error before.

33:34 And remember what is recited in your houses of the Verses of Allah and the wisdom. Indeed, Allah is All-Subtle, All-Aware.

(The sentence “the Verses of Allah and the wisdom” does not necessarily imply two sources or two books (e.g. the Qur’an and the hadith), but in Arabic, “wisdom” might refer to “Verses”. Verse 36:2 says, “By the Qur’an, the Wise”, so there is wisdom in the Qur’an. For example, Verse 55:68 says, “fruits and date-palms and pomegranates”, as if date-palms and pomegranates were other than fruits, while they are fruits. It is interpreted that date-palms and pomegranates are mentioned to emphasize these two kinds of fruits. Another example, Verses 97:4 and 70:4 say, “the Angels and the Spirit”, while some Verses suggest that the Spirit is an Angel. See the link below, “What is the difference between the soul and the Spirit in Islam? And what is the difference between the Spirit and an Angel? Is Gabriel an Angel?”)(Allah knows best)

12:108 Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah, with insight, I and whoever follows me. And Glory be to Allah and I am not of the polytheists."

2:231 And when you divorce women and they reach their term, then either retain them in a fair manner or release them in a fair manner. And do not retain them to hurt them so that you transgress. And whoever does that, then indeed, he wrongs himself. And do not take the Verses of Allah in jest, and remember the Favors of Allah upon you and what is revealed to you of the Book and the wisdom by which (bihi) He instructs you (ya’izukum). And fear Allah and know that Allah is All-Knower of everything.

(The root of “ya’izu” (instruct) is “Waw-Ayn-Za”, and it means “to admonish, advise, warn, etc.”)(“hi” (it / which) in Verse 2:231 is masculine singular in Arabic, so “by it / which” (masculine) refers to “Book” (masculine), so the Messenger advises by the Qur’an, so it does not refer to revelations other than the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

4:113 And if it was not for the Grace of Allah upon you and His Mercy, surely a group of them had resolved to mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they will not harm you in anything. And Allah has sent down to you the Book and Wisdom and taught you what you did not know. And Allah’s Grace upon you is great.

33:19 Miserly towards you. But when the fear comes, you see them looking at you, their eyes revolving like one who faints from [the] death. But when the fear departs, they smite you with sharp tongues, miserly towards the good. Those - they have not believed, so Allah made their deeds worthless. And that is easy for Allah. 33:20 They think that the confederates have not withdrawn. And if the confederates should come they would wish they were living in the desert among the Bedouins, asking about your news. And if they were among you, they would not fight except a little. 33:21 Certainly, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah much. 33:22 And when the believers saw the confederates, they said, "This is what Allah and His Messenger promised us, and Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth.” And it did not increase them except in faith and submission.

(“You” in Verse 33:19 is masculine singular, and it refers to Muhammad; so, according to the context, they are told that the Messenger of Allah is an excellent example, at a moment in which the Messenger is with them, so in Muhammad’s lifetime, in this world (“you see them looking at you” (33:19)). Another point is that “an excellent example” is said, according to these Verses, in the context of war, so he does not make rules. On the other hand, Verse 33:22 says, "This is what Allah and His Messenger promised us, and Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth.”, which implies that the Messenger did not speak on his own, but conveyed God’s Message (5:67), rather than two different sayings)(The Messengers are an example in that which the Qur’an says about them (12:111) “Verily, in their stories is a lesson for men of understanding. It is not an invented narration, but a confirmation of that which was before it”)(Allah knows best)

60:4 Indeed, there is for you a good example in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, "Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from what you worship besides Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you enmity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah Alone." Except for the saying of Abraham to his father, "Surely, I ask forgiveness for you, but I do not have power of anything for you from Allah. Our Lord, upon You we put our trust, and to You we turn, and to You is the final return.

(Abraham is also a good example (60:4); and the Verse says in which matter he is a good example: "Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from what you worship besides Allah” (60:4). So, Verse 33:21 is not implicitly validating the hadith. Another point is that, according to Verse 6:121, those who obey people are polytheists. Notice that the good example in Abraham is that he said against his people, “you worship besides Allah”. Obeying people implies worshiping other than God)(There is a pointless and bizarre story about Moses in the hadith (al-Bukhari, hadith 3404), which says that he is running naked and so on. It should have never been compiled or considered a saying of the Prophet, because running naked is not a good example. That hadith tries to explain Verse 33:69, but the context of Verse 33:69 is about obeying God and the Messenger, instead of obeying their chiefs and great men (33:66-67, 33:71). In addition, Muslims follow the religion of Abraham, so you have to guard your modesty (24:30))(Allah knows best)

4:11 Allah instructs you (yusikumu) concerning your children - for the male a portion equal to that of two females. But if there are women, more than two, then for them two thirds of what he left. And if there is one, then for her is half. And for his parents, to each one of them is a sixth of what is left, if he has a child. But if he does not have a child and his parents inherit from him, then for his mother is one third. And if he has brothers and sisters, then for his mother is a sixth after any will he has made or any debt. Your parents and your children – you do not know which of them are nearer to you in benefit. An obligation from Allah. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. 4:12 And for you is half of what your wives leave if they have no child. But if they have a child, then for you is a fourth of what they leave, after any will they have made and of any debt. And for them is fourth of what you leave, if have no child. But if you leave a child, then for them is an eighth of what you leave after any will you have made and of any debt. And if a man or woman whose wealth is to be inherited has no parent or child but has a brother or sister, then for each one of them is a sixth. But if they are more than that, then they share a third after any will that may have been made and of any debt without being harmful. An ordinance from Allah. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Forbearing. 4:13 These are the limits of Allah, and whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, He will admit him into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, he will abide in it forever. And that is the great success. 4:14 And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits - He will admit him into the Fire, he will abide in it forever. And for him is a humiliating punishment.

(The context says, “these are the limits of Allah” (4:13), so you cannot go farther than that which God “ordered” in the previous Verses (4:11-12). So, you “obey Allah and His Messenger” (4:13-14) according to “the limits of Allah” (4:14) ordered in the Verse (4:11-12), not according to other than or beyond the Verses of the Qur’an)(So, obeying Allah and His Messenger (4:13-14) is in the context of obeying that which has already been said in the Qur’an (“these are the limits of Allah” (4:13)). Even Verse 4:11 says, “Allah instructs you”, and after that it tells about obeying the Messenger)(The root of “yusi” (4:11) is “Waw-Sad-Ya”; it means “recommend, order, enjoin, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

16:44 With clear proofs and the Books. And We sent down to you the Remembrance, that you may make clear (litubayyina) to mankind what has been sent down to them and that they may reflect.

(Muhammad had to make clear that which has been sent down to mankind (16:44), with the Remembrance / the Qur’an (16:44). “Make clear” refers to “judging between the people” with the Qur’an; it is confirmed by Verses 16:64 and 2:213; both say the same sentence: “… in which they differed”, but one Verse mentions “make clear”, and the other Verse mentions “to judge between the people”, so “make clear” refers to “judging between the people”, because Verse 16:64 says, “except that you make clear”, so “except” indicates that the Book was not revealed for a reason other than “making clear / judging between the people”)(So, “making clear” does not imply “making rules” or “explaining the Qur’an in detail”, or so which is only done in the Qur’an Itself. Verse 75:19 explicitly says, “upon Us is its explanation”)(The Verses of the Qur’an are not mutually exclusive but complement each other)(See also the article, in the index of this blog, titled “Clarity of the Qur’an? Is the Qur'an vague and unclear?”)(The root of “tubayyina” is “Ba-Ya-Nun”, and it means “cut off or distinct, apparent, manifest, clear, known, distinguished from another, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

16:64 And We have not revealed to you the Book except that you make clear to them that in which they differed, and as a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.

2:213 Mankind was a single community, then Allah raised up Prophets (as) bearers of glad tidings and (as) warners, and sent down with them the Book in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed. And did not differ in it except those who were given it, after clear proofs came to them, (out of) jealousy among themselves. And Allah guided those who believed concerning that over which they differed of the Truth, with His permission. And Allah guides whom He wills to a straight path.

(According to Verse 2:213, the Book was sent to judge. And according to Verse 5:44, you must judge by what Allah has revealed. That which Allah has revealed to Muhammad is the Qur’an. The point is that there is no mention of sources other than the Scriptures, in order to judge people)(Allah knows best)

34:28 And We have not sent you except to all mankind, as a giver of glad tidings and as a warner. But most people do not know.

5:47 And let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed in it. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, then those are the defiantly disobedient.

(This Verse does not say that they have to judge according to “sayings” about Jesus, other than the Gospel. The Gospel was revealed by God (3:3). On the other hand, the current Gospel is according to people (e.g. John, etc.), so it is not a reliable source. Likewise the hadith is according to people, so the Qur’an is a Criterion over it, nor vice versa)(According to the context of Verse 5:47, they have to judge “by what Allah has revealed in it”, not by what Allah did not reveal. According to the next Verse (5:48), it says “do not follow their vain desires”, so there are Christians how do not follow the correct religion anymore. Verse 5:48 says, “We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming the Book that came before it and as a guardian/protector over it”; so, the Bible is guarded / preserved in the Qur’an (e.g. the Qur’an confirms the Bible in that which is mentioned in the Qur’an). The Qur’an is called “Criterion” in Verse 3:4, it implies that it is used to know what is true)(See also the link below: “Does the Qur'an replace the Bible?”)(Allah knows best)

5:48 And We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming the Book that came before it and as a guardian over it. So (fa) judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their vain desires when the truth has come to you. For each (likullin) of you We have made a law (shir’atan) and a clear way. And if Allah had willed, He would have made you one community [and] but to test you in what He has given you; so race to good. To Allah you will all return, then He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ. 5:49 And that you judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their vain desires and beware of them lest they tempt you away from some of what Allah has revealed to you. And if they turn away, then know that Allah only intends to afflict them for some of their sins. And indeed, many among the people are defiantly disobedient.

(“Judge” in Verse 5:48 is in singular, so the Prophet is commanded to judge by that which Allah has revealed. And what Allah has revealed is the Qur’an, because “fa” (so) indicates order, so it refers to the previous sentence, “We have revealed to you the Book in truth”)(Verse 5:48 also mentions the word “shir’atan” (a law), which has the same root than the word “Sharia” (law). According to the context of Verse 5:48, the “law” (e.g. Sharia) is in the Qur’an)(The sentence “For each of you We have made a law and a clear way” does not imply different “Laws” for different persons or groups, but “for each of you” refer to the same Law for mankind, because “kullin” (each) also means “all”, so it is “for all of you”. Verse 5:48 even says “a clear way”, so there is only one way, the way of God; and according to the context, that Law is in the Qur’an (5:48 “We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming the Book that came before...”)(Verse 3:85 says, “And whoever seeks other than Islam as religion - then never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be from the losers.”)(Allah knows best)

42:21 Or for them (are) partners who have ordained (shara’u) of the religion for them, what Allah has not given permission of it. And if not (for) a decisive word, surely, it (would have) been judged between them. And indeed, the wrongdoers, for them (is a) painful punishment.

(Verse 42:21 also uses a word (shara’u) with the same root than the word “Sharia” (law), and refers to those who made laws, without permission; in that sense, who gave the permission of collecting hadith to the hadith collectors? They were not ordered to do so)(As a consequence of obeying “partners”, Verse 42:21 says, “the wrongdoers, for them is a painful punishment”; so mankind have much to lose in this matter, that’s why is so important judging with the Qur’an. Other sources or people cannot contradict the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

45:18 Then We put you on an ordained way (shari’atin) of the matter; so follow it and (do) not follow (the) desires (of) those who (do) not know.

6:121 And (do) not eat of that on which Allah’s name has not been mentioned, and indeed, it (is) grave disobedience. And indeed, the devils inspire [to] their friends so that they dispute with you, and if you obey them, indeed, you (would) be the polytheists.

(Obeying people who is wrong implies polytheism (6:121))(Allah knows best)

5:72 They certainly disbelieve who say, "Indeed Allah - He is the Messiah, the son of Mary." While the Messiah said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates partners with Allah, then surely Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and his abode will be the Fire. And there will be no helpers for the wrongdoers.

10:68 They say, "Allah has taken a son." Glory be to Him, He (is) the Self-sufficient. To Him (belongs) whatever (is) in the heavens and whatever (is) in the earth. You (do) not have any authority for this. Do you say about Allah what you (do) not know? 10:69 Say, "Indeed, those who invent the lie against Allah, they will not succeed." 10:70 An enjoyment in the/(this) world, then to Us (is) their return, then We will make them taste the severe [the] punishment because they used to disbelieve.

30:31 Turning to Him, and fear Him and establish the prayer and (do) not be of the polytheists 30:32 Of those who divide their religion and become sects, each party rejoicing in what they have.

(You cannot become a sect. If you differ from the religion, it implies polytheism (aka obeying people/Satan instead of obeying God))(Calling yourself other than just “Muslim” (aka “one who submits (to God)”), as your religion, might imply becoming a sect (e.g. “sufi Muslim”, etc.))(Verse 22:78 says, “The religion of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before”)(Allah knows best)

12:106 And most of them (do) not believe in Allah except while they associate partners with Him.

(According to Verse 12:106, many people believe in God in a wrong way, associating partners with God)(Allah knows best)

7:2 A Book revealed to you, so let there not be in your breast any uneasiness from it, that you warn with it, and a reminder for the believers. 7:3 Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord, and (do) not follow besides Him any allies. Little (is) what you remember.

(Verse 7:2 explicitly says that “a Book” is revealed to the Prophet (“you” is singular). And Verse 7:3 says, “follow what has been revealed to you” (referring to the Book). Notice that “follow” and “you” are plural, and “what has been revealed” is singular, in Verse 7:3. So, the Verse implies that Muslims are ordered to follow the Qur’an. There is no mention or there was no an existing book, other than the Qur’an, at that moment, revealed to the Prophet)(Allah knows best)

42:52 And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration by Our Command. You did not know what the Book is nor the faith. But We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our slaves. And indeed, you surely guide to the Straight Path,

(God revealed the Qur’an, by which God guides, so with the Qur’an someone can be guided, disregarding or in spite of other sources. And the last sentence says, “you surely guide”, so the Prophet guides; there are different interpretations, but according to the context and other Verses, the Prophet used the Qur’an to guide. Verse 3:73 says, "Indeed the guidance is the Guidance of Allah”; and Verse 7:52 says, “And certainly We had brought to them a Book which We have explained with knowledge - a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.”. So the Qur’an is called “guidance”)(“Guidance” referring to the Qur’an is also supported by other Verses: 39:23, 2:2, 2:185, 6:157, 7:52, 2:120, 34:50)(Allah knows best)

9:97 The bedouins (l-a’rabu) are stronger in disbelief and hypocrisy, and more likely not to know the limits (hududa) of what Allah has revealed to His Messenger. And Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise. 9:98 And among the bedouins (l-a’rabi) (is he) who takes what he spends (as) a loss, and he awaits for you the turns (of misfortune). Upon them (will be) the turn (of) the evil. And Allah (is) All-Hearer, All-Knower.

(The root of “hududa” (limits) is “Ha-Dal-Dal”, and it means “to define a limit, determine, distinguish or separate one thing from another by a mark or note, etc.”. The word “limit” could imply that that which is inside the limit is allowed, as if, for example, the differences between Sunnis and Shiites could be both acceptable, as long as they do not transgress the limits. So, for example, in regard to their differences in prayer, some people say that only their way of prayer is permitted, but “limits” could imply that the Sunnis and Shiites’ specifications in the hadith could be “irrelevant” in order to accept someone’s prayer (but its intention could be rewarded (33:5)). And what matters is the “basics” and limits in the Qur’an: (e.g. bowing and prostrating in prayer, reciting the Qur’an, only invoking Allah, direction of prayer, etc.). Verse 14:40 says, “Our Lord, and accept my prayer”; so it is God the One Who accepts the prayer. People may have not authority to tell that a Prayer won’t be accepted while the one who prays is invoking Allah, bows, prostrates and so on)(There are differences in prayer even among Sunnis, so it is not just a matter between Sunnis and Shiites)(Another point is that the Verse says that the bedouins / Arabs “are stronger in disbelief and hypocrisy, and more likely not to know the limits of what Allah has revealed to His Messenger”. So, an Arab hadith narrator is not reliable per se, just because he was a companion and/or Arab, but he must be a sincere believer in order to be trusted)(The Qur’an confirms that there were hypocrites among the Prophet (63:1). Verses 29:10 and 4:141 confirm that they were with the Messenger (“Indeed, we were with you” (29:10), "Were we not with you?" (4:141). Even two wives of Muhammad were against the Prophet (66:4-5))(According to “Bassam Zawadi”, “just because something is early, doesn’t mean it’s true. If something is early, it just means its early. It has to be early and reliable. It’s possible that something is early and false”)(Some people say that a certain matter is true because it is from the time of the Prophet, as if it were a proof in itself, but belief and disbelief among people, started at the same time, since the very first recitation of the Qur’an to the people)(Allah knows best)

2:229 Divorce is twice. Then retain in a reasonable manner or release with kindness. And it is not lawful for you to take back whatever you have given them, except if both fear that they can’t keep the limits of Allah. But if you fear that they can’t keep the limits of Allah, then there is no sin on both of them in what she ransoms concerning it. These are the limits of Allah, so do not transgress them. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah then those - they are the wrongdoers.

2:67 And when Moses said to his people, "Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you take us in ridicule." He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant." 2:68 They said, "Pray, for us, (to) your Lord to make clear to us what it (is)." He said, "Indeed, He says, "[Indeed] it (is) a cow not/(neither) old [and] not/(nor) young, (but) between that/(of) middle age[d]," so do what you are commanded." 2:69 They said, "Pray (to) your Lord to make clear to us what (is) its color." He said, "Indeed, He says, '[Indeed] it is a yellow cow, bright (in) its color, pleasing (to) those who see (it).'" 2:70 They said, "Pray to your Lord to make clear to us what it/she (is). Indeed, [the] cows look alike to us. And indeed, if Allah wills, we will surely be those who are guided."

(According to Verse 2:67, they are commanded to slaughter a cow. There is no further information, but they just have to do it, but they were in doubt about that order, then they asked for clarification. Notice that once it is clarified, Moses says, “do what you are commanded” (2:68), as if there were no further clarification after that. But they keep asking for making it even more clear (2:69-70))(This story suggests that the orders in the Qur’an are complete, and other alleged sources’ specifications might be irrelevant or not required in order to obey)(It could be objected that the specifications were needed, correct and under revelation, in order to avoid slaughtering the wrong cow, or a cow other than the one specified later. But, an answer is that, according to the context, it is obvious that no further specifications were required, so it could be interpreted that the specifications of the cow were as a result of their doubt or disbelief)(The law was more severe for those who did wrong (e.g. Jews), for example in the matter of Sabbath (16:124), or making unlawful for them good things which had been lawful for them (4:160). Verse 7:157 says about Muhammad, “he relieves them of their burden and the fetters which were upon them”, rather than setting new rules or extra obligations)(Allah knows best)

29:51 And is (it) not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book (which) is recited to them? Indeed, in that is surely a mercy and a reminder for a people who believe.

(Verse 29:51 says, “Is (it) not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book (which) is recited to them?”. The Verse suggests that sufficient is the Qur’an, and it is sufficient for becoming a believer, because the Verse says, “in that is surely a mercy and a reminder for a people who believe”)(Allah knows best)

31:2 These (are) Verses (of) the Wise [the] Book, 31:3 A guidance and a mercy for the good-doers,

18:27 And recite what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord. None can change His Words, and never will you find a refuge besides Him.

(The Verse does not say that he has to recite other than that which has been revealed of the Book)(On the other hand, there is no abrogation in the Qur’an. If the hadith were to contradict the Qur’an, then the hadith does not abrogate any Verse, because “none can change His Words” (28:27), and “Allah eliminates falsehood and establishes the truth by His Words” (42:24))(See the article below, “Are there any abrogated verses in the Qur'an?”)(Allah knows best)

64:8 So believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Light which We have sent down. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

(Scriptures are referred as “Light” (42:52, 21:48, 6:91, 5:46). The Qur’an does not explicitly say that you have to believe in written sources other than the Scriptures (i.e. Torah, Gospel, Qur’an))(Allah knows best)

5:92 And obey Allah and obey the Messenger and beware. And if you turn away - then know that upon Our Messenger is only clear notification (l-balaghu).

(The root of “balaghu” (notification) is “Ba-Lam-Gh”, and it means “reaching, attaining, arriving, coming to the utmost point to which one directs one’s course or one who seeks, pursues, desires, intends or tries to reach; attaining or having attained puberty, virility, ripeness or maturity, etc.”)(So, according to the meaning, one interpretation is that upon the Messenger is only clear and mature language, and/or upon him is to reach the intended purpose)(Allah knows best)

24:51 (The) only statement (of) the believers when they are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them (is) that they say, "We hear and we obey." And those (are) the successful. 24:52 And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger and fears Allah and (is) conscious of Him, then those [they] (are) the successful ones. 24:53 And they swear by Allah their strong oaths that if you ordered them, surely they (would) go forth. Say, "(Do) not swear. Obedience (is) known. Indeed, Allah (is) All-Aware of what you do." 24:54 Say, "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away - then only upon him (is) what (is) placed on him, and on/(upon) you (is) what (is) placed on you. And if you obey him, you will be guided. And (there is) not/(no) on the Messenger except the clear [the] conveyance."

(According to Verse 24:51, the context of “obeying” Allah and His “Messenger” is in the matter of judging between them)(Allah knows best)

64:12 And obey Allah and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away - then upon Our Messenger is only the clear notification.

5:3 Are made unlawful for you the dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which is dedicated to other than Allah, and that which is strangled, and that which is fatally hit, and that which has a fatal fall, and that which is gored by horns, and that which ate the wild animal except what you slaughtered, and that which is sacrificed on stone altars, and that you seek division by divining arrows - that is grave disobedience. This day those who disbelieve have despaired of your religion; so do not fear them, but fear Me. This day I have perfected (akmaltu) your religion (dinakum) for you and I have completed My Favor upon you, and I have approved for you Islam as a religion. But whoever is forced by hunger with no inclination to sin, then indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(The root of “akmaltu” (perfected) is “Kaf-Miim-Lam”, and it means “complete, in total, in all, perfect achieved; akmala – perfect / fulfill / complete”. On the other hand, the root of “dinakum” (religion) is “Dal-Ya-Nun”, and it means “obedience / submissiveness, servility, religion, in debt, under the obligation of a debt, contract a debt, a way / course / manner of conduct / acting; a particular law / statute, etc.”)(Considering the meaning of these words, Verse 5:3 says that the law is completed, so people cannot make or attribute to anyone new laws or obligations)(Allah knows best)

45:6 These are the Verses of Allah, which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement (hadithin) after Allah and His Verses will they believe?

(Verse 45:6 is explicit: “in what “new / saying” after Allah and His Verses will they believe?”. The Verse does not support sayings other/after the Qur’an)(The root of “hadith” is “Ha-Dal-Thaa”, and it means “something new / recent, it came into existence, began to be, originated, had a beginning, existed newly for the first time, to relate discourse, story / report / narration / statement / tale. hadathu – a novelty or new thing, an innovation, a thing not known before. hadith – tiding, talk, discourse, tale, story”)(Allah knows best)

77:50 Then in what statement (hadithin) after it will they believe?

11:1 Alif Lam Ra. A Book whose Verses are perfected (uh’kimat), moreover explained in detail from (the One Who is) All-Wise, All-Aware.

(The root of “uh’kimat” is “Ha-Kaf-Miim”, and it means “to restrain from, exercise authority, command, give judgment, judge, be wise, render a thing firm / stable / sound / free from defect or imperfection by the exercise of skill, etc.”. So, the Qur’an is used to make judgments, above any other source)(In regard to “explained in detail”, some people say, for example, that you don’t know how to pray unless you read it in the hadith; but one interpretation is that the Qur’an says the “basics” and limits (e.g. bowing and prostrating in prayer, reciting the Qur’an, only invoking Allah, direction of prayer, etc.), so specifications of prayer, other than that, might be irrelevant in order to accept someone’s prayer)(Some non-Muslims object against Muslims that Muhammad is invoked in prayer, but, the Qur’an says that you have to invoke God. The Prophet would have not called/invoked himself in prayer. Verse 33:56 says, “O you who believe! Send blessings on him and greet him (with) greetings”. There may not be objections on doing it by mentioning him in third person (e.g. “blessings on him”), or second person for those who were with the Prophet, and directly spoke to him, at the time of the Prophet)(See also the articles below: “Clarity of the Qur’an? Is the Qur'an vague and unclear?” and If the Qur’an is explained in detail, why is not possible to learn, who Abu Lahab is and why he and his wife are damned to hell, without referencing hadith?”)(Allah knows best)

6:114 "Then is it other than Allah I should seek as judge, while He is the One Who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail?" And those to whom We gave the Book know that it is sent down from your Lord in truth, so do not be among the doubters.

(This Verse confirms that the Prophet judged with the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

6:115 And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled (watammat) in truth and justice. None can change His words, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.

(The root of “tammat” is “Ta-Miim-Miim”, and it means “to be entire / full / whole, blossom, full-grown, complete, perfect, fulfilled, accomplish, etc.”. Another dictionary says “reach the best potential”. So, “the word of your Lord has been completed” implies that it does not have to be complemented, because it is not incomplete)(In regard to “none can change His Words”, other sources (tradition, etc.) coexist with the Qur’an; it doesn’t change the fact that the Qur’an is preserved, and none can contradict it. The Qur’an is a criterion (25:1) to know what is right or wrong)(A source or person contradicting the Qur’an does not mean that God changed His words, because that other source is not God’s words)(Allah knows best)

35:43 (Due to) arrogance in the land and plotting of evil; but the evil plot does not encompass except its own people. Then do they wait except (the) way (sunnata) (of) the former? But you will never find in (the) way (lisunnati) (of) Allah any change, and you will never find in (the) way (lisunnati) (of) Allah any alteration.

6:116 And if you obey most of those on the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah. They follow nothing except assumption, and they are only guessing.

(There are assumptions among people while they are not Messengers. For example, in the Gospel, there are Gospels according to people (e.g. the Gospel according to Luke, etc.), so people assume that they were chosen to convey the message. People saying that “the Prophet said...” might be used to corrupt the religion)(Mankind has much to lose by believing in assumptions, because mankind is commanded to say the truth about Allah (4:171))(if some “sayings of the Prophet” were invented by disbelievers, who are enemies of Islam, to defame and distort the religion, then if you follow it, you would be worshiping them. It is confirmed by Verse 6:121, which speaks about those who obey people, they are considered polytheists, so mankind has much to lose)(Allah knows best)

49:12 O you who believe, avoid much assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy and do not backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would hate it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

31:6 And of mankind is he who purchases idle tales (l-hadithi) to mislead from the path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.

(“Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 5, Number 277” could suggest that the narrator, who is not a Messenger, is taking Moses in ridicule, and the story is pointless. That story is not told in the Qur’an, and it is assumed by people that it was God’s revelation, because Muhammad was not present at the time of Moses, and it is assumed by people that the story should be collected after Muhammad, but mankind has much to lose by such assumption, because mankind is commanded to say the truth about Allah (4:171))(In addition, Verse 31:6 mentions the word “hadith”; people use sayings (hadith) to mislead (31:6); it also occurred at the time of the Prophet; Verse 33:60 confirms that people from the city / neighbors spread rumors)(Allah knows best)

33:60 If the hypocrites and those in whose heart is a disease and those who spread rumors in the city do not cease, We will let you overpower them, then they will not remain your neighbors therein except for a little,

10:59 Say, "Have you seen what Allah has sent down for you of the provision, and you have made of it unlawful and lawful?" Say, "Has Allah permitted you or do you invent against Allah?" 10:60 And what will be the assumption of those who invent lies against Allah on the Day of Judgment? Indeed, Allah is surely Full of Bounty to mankind, but most of them are not grateful.

86:13 Indeed, it is surely a decisive (faslun) Word,

(The root of “faslun” (decisive) is “Fa-Sad-Lam”, and it means “he separated / divided or put apart a thing from another thing, made a separation / partition, distinct / plain / clear / manifest, explain in detail, to distinguish, deciding between two things, etc.”)(So, the Qur’an is “distinguished” from other sources (86:13). And according to this definition: “deciding between two things” might imply that you take one, and leave the other (e.g. you take the Qur’an and leave other sources))(Allah knows best)

41:41 Indeed, those who disbelieve in the Reminder when it comes to them. And indeed, it is surely a mighty Book. 41:42 No falsehood can come to it from before it and behind it. A Revelation from the All-Wise, the Praiseworthy.

(A falsehood before and behind (after) the Qur’an is rejected)(Allah knows best)

9:31 They have taken their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah, son of Mary, as Lords besides Allah. And they were not commanded except to worship One God. There is no god except Him. Glory be to Him from what they associate.

(If people were to obey their rabbis, monks, scholars, and so on, and they were to contradict the Qur’an, it is as if they obeyed / worshiped other than Allah (9:31). So, anything in the hadith which contradicts the Qur’an, or irrelevant, must be disregarded)(Mankind are forbidden to worship other than Allah, so mankind have much to lose in this matter)(Notice that Verse 9:31 also implies that they should not take the Messiah as Lord. No Prophet should be taken as Lord)(Allah knows best)

3:79 It is not for any human to whom Allah has given the Book, and the wisdom, and Prophethood to say to the people, "Be my worshipers besides Allah,” but "Be worshipers of the Lord because you have been teaching the Book and you have been studying." 3:80 And he will not order you to take the Angels, and the Prophets as lords. Would he order you to disbelief after you (have become) Muslims?

(According to Verse 3:80, you cannot take the Prophets as lords. It would imply disbelief, instead of submission to God)(So, you cannot take as lords in the matters of, for example, invoking (you only have to invoke Allah), glorifying (you only glorify Allah), ruling (Allah gives you the ruling concerning any matter (4:127, 4:176, 42:10)), or doing something which was “reported” that the Prophet was doing (on his own, rather than revelation), while you were not ordered to do so, which might imply that you took the Prophet as lord, etc.)(If you obey a report that is wrong and/or opposing the religion, it implies polytheism (6:121), because you obey people, instead of God and the Prophet)(Allah knows best)

18:15 These, our people, have taken gods besides Him. Why do they not come to them with a clear authority? And who is more wrong than (the one) who invents a lie against Allah?

(People take other people as gods, while they did not come with a clear authority)(Hadith collectors are not messengers or prophets, and they accepted and rejected hadith/narrations according to their own decision and “knowledge”, rather than by revelation)(Allah knows best)

10:15 And when Our Verses are recited to them as clear proofs, those who do not hope for the meeting with Us said, "Bring us a Qur’an other than this or change it." Say, "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I follow not except what is revealed to me. Indeed, If I were to disobey my Lord, I fear the punishment of a Great Day." 10:16 Say, "If Allah (had) willed, I (would) not have recited it to you, and He (would) have not made it known to you. Verily, I have stayed among you a lifetime before it. Then will you not use reason?"

(The Messenger only follows that which is revealed to him. According to the context, “what is revealed to me” refers to the Qur’an. The Prophet only judged with the Qur’an)(If the Qur’an had not been recited, it would have not been known (10:16). It suggests that the Qur’an is the recitation you must know about)(Allah knows best)

6:105 And thus We explain the Signs (l-ayati) that they (may) say, "You have studied," and that We (may) make it clear for a people who know. 6:106 Follow what has been inspired (uhiya) to you from your Lord, (there is) no god except Him, and turn away from the polytheists.

(The word “ayati” (Signs) in Verse 6:105 also means “Verses”. And the word “uhiya” (inspired) in Verse 6:106 also means “revealed” and even “written”, (not just “putting a thing into the mind). So, according to the context, that which he has to follow could refer to the Qur’an)(“Follow” is masculine singular, so it is addressed to the Prophet)(Allah knows best)

2:120 And the Jews and the Christians will never be pleased with you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the Guidance of Allah is the Guidance." And if you follow their desires after what has come to you of the knowledge, you will have neither any protector from Allah nor any helper.

(The Guidance is mentioned in opposition to their desires. “Guidance” may refer to the Qur’an (39:23, 2:2, 2:185, 6:157, 7:52, 2:120))(Allah knows best)

3:20 Then if they argue with you, then say, "I have submitted myself to Allah and those who follow me." And say to those who were given the Book, and the unlettered people, "Have you submitted yourselves?" Then if they submit, then surely they are guided. But if they turn back then on you is only to convey (l-balaghu). And Allah is All-Seer of [His] slaves.

(On Muhammad is to convey. There is an assumption that on people were to convey that which is not in the Scriptures)(The root of “balaghu” (notification) is “Ba-Lam-Gh”, and it means “reaching, attaining, arriving, coming to the utmost point to which one directs one’s course or one who seeks, pursues, desires, intends or tries to reach; attaining or having attained puberty, virility, ripeness or maturity, etc.”)(So, according to the meaning, one interpretation is that upon the Messenger is clear and mature language, and/or upon him is to reach the intended purpose)(Allah knows best)

72:21 Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you any harm and nor right path." 72:22 Say, "Indeed, no one can protect me from Allah, nor can I find any refuge besides Him 72:23 Except (illa) the notification (balaghan) from Allah and His Messages." And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, then indeed, for him is the Fire of Hell, (they will) abide therein forever.

(It is interpreted that Verses 72:21-23 might confirm that you only have to follow the Qur’an, because it says that Prophet Muhammad does not possess for you any “right path” (72:21) …. except “the notification from Allah and His Messages” (72:23). And the context is “obeying Allah and His Messenger (“And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger”), so obeying Allah and His Messenger refers to following the Qur’an)(“He who obeys the Messenger then he surely obeyed Allah” (4:80))(The Verses of the Qur’an are not mutually exclusive but complement each other)(Allah knows best)

72:25 Say, "I (do) not know whether what/(that which) you are promised is near or (whether) my Lord will appoint for it a (distant) term.

(Depending on the question, the Prophet might answer, “I do not know” (72:25, 7:187-188))(Allah knows best)

46:9 Say, "I am not a new (one) among the Messengers and nor do I know what will be done with me and with you. I follow that which is revealed to me, and I am not but a clear warner."

(According to the context, Verse 46:9 mentions what he is currently doing (“I am not”, “I follow”...), so the Verse speaks about his uncertainty of what will be done in this world. This interpretation is in the same line than other verses (7:188, 3:144,…))(The Verse also mentions the words “revealed” and “warner”, which may imply the Qur’an (“a clear Qur’an to warn” (36:69-70); “… was revealed the Qur’an” (2:185))(Allah knows best)

7:188 Say, "I have no power for myself to benefit and nor harm, except what Allah wills. And if I would know of the unseen, surely I could have multiplied of the good and no evil would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bearer of good tidings to a people who believe."

(This Verse explicitly says about Muhammad that, “If I would known of the unseen, surely I could have multiplied of the good and no evil would have touched me”, so it confirms that things he did may not be by revelation)(Notice that the previous Verse, (Verse 7:187), says, “They ask you about the Hour, when will be its appointed time? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord… They ask you as if you were well informed about it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know.")(Allah knows best)

10:18 And they worship other than Allah that (which) (does) not harm them and not/(nor) benefit(s) them, and they say, "These (are) our intercessors with Allah." Say, "Do you inform Allah of what/(that which) He does not know in the heavens and [not] in the earth?" Glorified and Exalted is He above what they associate (with Him).

81:24 And he (is) not a withholder on the unseen.

10:20 And they say, "Why is a Sign not sent down to him from his Lord?" So say, "The unseen is only for Allah, so wait; indeed, I am among the ones who wait with you."

67:24 Say, "He is the One Who multiplied you in the earth and to Him you will be gathered." 67:25 And they say, "When (is) this promise, if you are truthful?" 67:26 Say, "The knowledge (is) only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner."

(In regard to the question in Verse 67:25, about when is the promise, the Prophet’s answer does not give any detail, because he does not know the unseen (7:188). On the other hand, for example, according to Sahih al-Bukhari 7121, book 92, hadith 68, narrated by Abu Huraira, about “the Hour”: “Allah’s Messenger said, The Hour will not be established till two big groups fight each other,… earthquakes will increase in number, time will pass quickly, afflictions will appear, Al-Harj, (i.e., killing) will increase, etc.)(Allah knows best)

7:187 They ask you about the Hour, when will be its appointed time? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None can reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come to you but suddenly." They ask you as if you were well informed about it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know."

(There are things about which the Messengers have no knowledge, and he does not know the unseen (7:188), unless it were revealed to him. Other Verses support that that which was revealed to him refers to the Qur’an)(People assumed that the Messenger knew about a certain matter, but his answer is “Its knowledge is only with Allah” (7:187))(Allah knows best)

17:85 And they ask you concerning the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And you have not been given of knowledge except a little."

6:49 And those who denied Our Verses, the punishment will touch them for what they used to defiantly disobey. 6:50 Say, "I do not say to you that I have with me the treasures of Allah, nor do I know the unseen, nor do I say to you that I am an Angel. I do not follow except what is revealed to me." Say, "Can the blind and the seeing one be equal?" Then will you not give thought?

(Verse 6:50 says, “I do not follow except what is revealed to me”; it refers to the Qur’an because, according to the context - the previous Verse is talking about the Qur’an (“Our Verses” (6:49)))(Allah knows best)

7:203 And when you do not bring them a Sign, they say, "Why have you not devised it?" Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This is enlightenment from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe." 7:204 And (wa) when the Qur’an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention so that you may receive mercy.

(According to Verse 7:204, you can receive mercy with the Qur’an, disregarding other sources of information, because sources other than the Qur’an are not mentioned)(Allah knows best)

7:52 And certainly We had brought to them a Book which We have explained with knowledge - a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.

39:27 And indeed, We have set forth for people in this Qur’an of every example, so that they may take heed. 39:28 A Qur’an in Arabic, without any crookedness, so that they may become righteous.

(You can become righteous following the Qur’an, regardless of other sources)(The Qur’an is the common Scripture for all Muslims in which they have to be in agreement)(Allah knows best)

30:28 He sets forth to you an example from yourselves. Do you have among those whom your right hands possess any partners in what We have provided you so that you are equal therein, you fear them as you fear each other? Thus We explain the Verses for a people who use reason.

(Thus, the Verses are explained in the Verses)(Allah knows best)

12:6 And thus your Lord will choose you and will teach you the interpretation of narratives (l-ahadithi) and complete His Favor on you and on the family of Jacob, as He completed it on your two forefathers before, Abraham and Isaac. Indeed, your Lord is All-Knower, All-Wise."

(Verse 39:23 says that the Qur’an is the best “hadith” (statement). According to Verse 12:6, God teaches the interpretation of “hadith” (e.g. the Qur’an, “dreams” in the case of Joseph,...))(Allah knows best)

25:30 And the Messenger said, "O my Lord, indeed, my people took this Qur’an as a forsaken thing."

(According to this Verse you cannot disregard the Qur’an. It might suggest that you cannot disregard the Qur’an by checking other sources, and/or by contradicting it)(Allah knows best)

5:66 And if they had stood firmly by the Torah and the Gospel and what was revealed to them from their Lord, surely they would have eaten from above them and from beneath their feet. Among them is a moderate community, but many of them - evil is what they do. 5:67 O Messenger, convey (balligh) that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed (ballaghta) His Message. And Allah will protect you from the people. Indeed, Allah does not guide the disbelieving people. 5:68 Say, "O People of the Book, you are not on anything until you stand firmly by the Torah and the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord. And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in rebellion and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.

(Verse 5:66 does not mention secondary sources (e.g. in regard to Judaism, it mentions the Torah, but it does not mention the Talmud (aka compilation of the historic rabbis discussing or debating what the Torah means), and in regard to Christianity, it mentions the Gospel, it does not mention the epistles of Paul (aka insight into the beliefs and controversies of early Christianity). Those secondary / man-made works are very important in Judaism and Christianity)(The Qur’an mentions the Torah, the Gospel and the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

15:9 Indeed, We have sent down the Reminder, and indeed, We are surely its Guardians.

(The Reminder refers to the Qur’an. The Verse explicitly says, “We are surely its Guardians”, on the other hand, there is no mention of any source, other than the Qur’an, to be guarded or preserved, it could implicitly suggest that other sources might be exposed to mistake or error)(See the link below, “Has the Qur'an been preserved?”)(Allah knows best)

27:91 "I am commanded only to worship the Lord of this city, the One Who made it sacred and to Him (belongs) all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims 27:92 And (wa) that I recite the Qur’an." And whoever accepts guidance then he only accepts guidance for himself; and whoever goes astray then say, "I am only of the warners."

(Notice that Verse 27:92 says that he is commanded to “recite the Qur’an”. It does not say that he is commanded to recite other than that)(According to Verse 17:105, Muhammad was not sent “except” as a warner and bearer of glad tidings. Verse 21:45 says, "I only warn you by the revelation.", so he does not warn with his own words. There are warnings and glad tidings in the Qur’an (20:113, 2:97, 19:97, 16:89); Muhammad is a warner by using Verse 27:92, in which he warns about accepting guidance (the Verse speaks in the first person). “Guidance” refers to the Qur’an Itself, because Verse 27:92 says, “I recite the Qur’an. And whoever accepts guidance then...”)(Verse 27:91 says that he is commanded only to worship the Lord; and he is commanded to be of the Muslims (aka Submitted (to God)); this is also said in the context of “reciting the Qur’an” (27:92), so you worship / submit to God by following the Qur’an)(Notice that the sentence “and that I recite the Qur’an” starts with “and (wa)”; in Arabic, “wa” does not specify order or timing, so it may refer to the previous sentences)(Allah knows best)

17:105 And with the truth We sent it down, and with the truth it descended. And We have not sent you, except as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. 17:106 And We have divided the Qur’an, that you might recite it to people at intervals. And We have revealed it in stages.

(Verse 17:106 says, “We have divided the Qur’an”. The Qur’an does not say that there is a hadith, other than the Qur’an, divided into “six major hadith collections”)(Allah knows best)

20:113 And thus We have sent it down, the Qur’an in Arabic and have explained the warnings in it that they may fear or that it may cause them remembrance.

(The warnings are explained in the Qur’an, and the Prophet is only a warner (38:65))(Allah knows best)

19:97 So We have only made it easy in your tongue that you may give glad tidings with it to the righteous and warn hostile people therewith.

39:23 Allah has revealed the best statement (l-hadithi) - a Book, resembling each other oft-repeated. The skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of Allah, He guides with it whom He wills. And whoever Allah lets go astray, then there is no guide for him. … 39:55 And follow the best of what is revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes to you suddenly, while you do not perceive,

(The Book (the Qur’an) is the best statement / hadith (39:23), so the Verse suggests that any source other than the Qur’an is a “worse statement”. In Verse 39:55, you are ordered to follow the “best” of that which is revealed)(The sentence “follow the best of what is revealed to you” does not imply that there are worse “revelations”, but it may refer to the best interpretation (3:7) and/or it may refer to the clear Verses, because the allegorical ones are not to be followed (3:7), because only Allah knows its interpretation)(Allah knows best)

16:89 And the Day We will resurrect among every nation a witness over them from themselves. And We will bring you as a witness over these. And We sent down to you the Book as a clarification of every thing and a guidance and mercy and glad tidings for the Muslims.

(You can be guided and clarified with the Book Itself (16:89), regardless of other sources)(Allah knows best)

18:54 And certainly, We have explained in this Qur’an every example for mankind. But man is in most things quarrelsome.

2:219 They ask you about intoxicants and the games of chance. Say, "In both of them there is great sin, and benefits for people. But their sin is greater than their benefits.” And they ask you about what they should spend. Say, "The surplus." Thus Allah makes clear the Verses to you, so that you may ponder,

12:111 Verily, in their stories is a lesson for men of understanding. It is not an invented narration, but a confirmation of that which was before it and a detailed explanation of all things, and a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.

(People say that it is not possible to learn things without referencing hadith, but according to Verse 12:111, the Qur’an is “a detailed explanation of all things”. One interpretation is that the Qur’an “explained in detail” does not refer to, for example, who was “Abu Lahab” (111:1), but to, for example, matters about judging ("Then is it other than Allah I should seek as judge, while He is the One Who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail?" (6:114)); or, for example, “explained in detail” refers to which food is forbidden (“He (has) explained in detail to you what He (has) forbidden to you” (6:119)), etc.; so, in these examples, the Verses explicitly say which matter is explained in detail. That is in accordance to what the Qur’an is about: a “guidance” (2:2), a Criterion (25:1), a Reminder (80:11), etc., not about what it was not intended to be (e.g. an encyclopedia))(See also the link below: “Clarity of the Qur’an? Is the Qur'an vague and unclear?”)(Allah knows best)

10:37 And it was not that this Qur’an could be produced by other than Allah, but (it is) a confirmation of that which was before it and a detailed explanation of the Book, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

(Some information is implicitly said in the Qur’an, for example, when Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power) is. See below the article “When Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power) is?”)(Allah knows best)

41:3 A Book whose Verses are detailed, a Qur’an in Arabic, for a people who know,

6:126 And this is the way of your Lord - straight. Certainly, We have detailed the Verses for a people who take heed.

4:82 Then do they not ponder on the Quran? If it had been from other than Allah, surely they would have found much contradiction in it.

(According to Verse 4:82, if you find much contradiction, then it would not be a revelation from Allah. In this regard, the Qur’an does not contradict Itself, but other sources (e.g. tradition, people’s sayings, etc.) may contradict the Qur’an, so the Qur’an is correct, while other sources would be wrong)(See the links below about some controversial matters, which might contradict the Qur’an: “Does Islam support pedophilia or child marriages? Did Prophet Muhammad marry a 6 year old?”, “Is apostasy allowed?”, “Is it allowed in Islam to have relations with maids/slaves without marrying? Are sex slaves allowed in Islam?”, “Is there “honor killing” in the Qur’an, as there is in the Bible?”, “Is stoning supported in the Qur'an?”, “Is the Qur'an created or uncreated (always existed)?”, “Are there ten recitations of the Qur’an?”, ““Greater/inner” jihad vs. “lesser/outer” jihad. Are these concepts right? Is the “greater” jihad better than the “lesser” one?”, “Can Muslims say Salam (Peace) to Non-Muslims?”, “Can you divorce your wife by just saying three words (triple talaq) in Islam?”, “Do Muslims have to kill Jews and Christians just because they are not Muslims? Or is it only allowed in self-defense?”, “Are women allowed to drive in Islam?”, “Is there any contradiction in the Qur'an?”, “Are there any abrogated verses in the Qur'an?”, “Can a Muslim man or woman marry a Non-Muslim?”, “Explanation of Verses 66:1-6: Incident of honey or Maria the Copt? Muhammad’s wife or concubine?”, “Is there freedom of religion in Islam? Is there compulsion in Islam?”, “Are forced marriages allowed in Islam?”, etc.)(Allah knows best)

2:106 What We abolish of a sign/Verses or cause it to be forgotten, We bring better than it or similar to it. Do you not know that Allah is All-Powerful over everything?

(Some people wrongly say that a hadith or Verse might replace “abrogated” Verses, but there is no abrogation in the Qur’an. You cannot accept a hadith which implies rejecting Verses or is in direct contradiction with Verses of the Qur’an)(An explanation of Verse 2:106 is that if there were “forgotten” verses in this Qur’an, then they would not be called “forgotten”, because the Qur’an is a reminder. So, the Verse may refer to an information that was not included anymore, or was never included in the Qur’an (if it were to refer to a previous scripture))(Even if a hadith were not forgotten, it is not validated in itself, but the context of Verse 2:106 is that Verses of the Qur’an were caused to be forgotten, in the sense that they are no included in the Qur’an/Reminder anymore (16:101). The Verse might suggest that a hadith that is not included in the “Reminder”, then it might implicitly be abolished)(Baha’is wrongly say that some Verses of the Qur’an are out-of-date. See the articles below: “Are verses 9:28 and 5:38 out-of-date, as Baha’is say?”, “Are there any abrogated verses in the Qur'an?”, “Is there a verse in the Qur’an called “verse of the sword”? Does it abrogate other verses?”)(Allah knows best)

16:101 And when We substitute a Verse in place of a Verse, and Allah is most knowing of what He sends down they say, "You are only an inventor." Nay, most of them do not know.

(An explanation of Verse 16:101 is that “a Verse in place of a verse” is done within the same Scripture, which implies that the previous verse was replaced, so that it is not included in the Scripture anymore. So, you cannot abrogate any Verse of the Qur’an)(A verse that was replaced is to be forgotten (2:106), rather than, for example, to be compiled in a book of hadith)(Allah knows best)

41:26 And those who disbelieve said, "Do not listen to this Qur’an, and make noise therein, so that you may overcome."

(Verse 41:26 speaks about disbelievers, but even if someone considers himself a believer, but he follows a source which contradicts or differs from the Qur’an, then he is deaf and blind in regard to the Qur’an (25:73))(Allah knows best)

25:73 And those who, when they are reminded of (the) Verses (of) their Lord, (they do) not fall upon them deaf and blind.

6:38 And there is no animal on the earth and nor a bird that flies with its wings – but they are communities like you. We have not neglected in the Book anything, then to their Lord they will be gathered.

(According to the context, “Book” in Verse 6:38 refers to a “Register”, not to the Qur’an (35:11, 36:12, 57:22))(Allah knows best)

4:127 And they seek your ruling concerning women. Say, "Allah gives you the ruling about them and what has been recited to you in the Book concerning the orphans women to whom you do not give what is ordained for them and you desire to marry them, and the weak among children and to stand for orphans with justice. And whatever good you do, then indeed, Allah is All-Knowing of it.

(The Messenger does not make rules (5:4, 4:176, 4:127, 42:10), but followed what is revealed to him (46:9, 75:18-19, 7:2-3, 7:203-204))(God gives the ruling about something. So, the Messenger was to be obeyed, for example, in the matter of judging people in accordance to those rules (4:105, 4:65))(Allah knows best)

4:176 They seek your ruling. Say, "Allah gives you a ruling concerning kalala (one having no descendants or ascendants as heirs).” If a man died, having no child but a sister, then for her is half of what he left. And he will inherit from her if she has no child. But if there were two females, then for them two thirds of what he left. But if there are brothers and sisters, men and women, then the male will have the share of two females. Allah makes clear to you lest you go astray. And Allah is All-Knower of everything.

(According to Verses 5:4, 42:10, 4:176 and 4:127, God gives the ruling about something)(Allah knows best)

5:43 But how can they appoint you a judge while they have with them the Torah, wherein is the Command of Allah? Then they turn away after that, and those are not believers. 5:44 Indeed, We revealed the Torah wherein was Guidance and light. The Prophets who submitted judged by it for the Jews, as did the Rabbis and the scholars as they were entrusted with the Book of Allah and they were witnesses to it. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not sell My Verses for a little price. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, then those are the disbelievers.

(The Verse does not say that they judged by secondary sources, but by the Torah)(Verse 5:44 may imply that those who did not judge by the Scripture did not submit/were Muslims)(Verse 5:43 is speaking about disbelievers, who are hypocrites because they do not believe or follow the Command of Allah in the Torah, then how can they appoint Muhammad a judge, while Muhammad is actually following the Command of Allah?)(Verse 5:44 supports that a common Scripture (The Qur’an in the case of Muslims), is commonly used by the Prophets, the Rabbis and the scholars. And according to the Verse, that is “what Allah has revealed”. No mention of secondary sources)(Allah knows best)

75:17 Indeed, upon Us is its collection and its recitation. 75:18 And when We have recited it, then follow its recitation. 75:19 Then indeed, upon Us is its explanation.

(Hadith collectors were not ordered to collect it. Verse 75:17 confirms that that which is revealed by God, upon God its collection and its recitation (75:17), and also its explanation (75:19). Mankind have to follow its recitation (75:18))(Allah knows best)

42:10 And in whatever you differ, then its ruling is to Allah. That is Allah, my Lord, in Him I put my trust, and to Him I turn.

(Verse 42:10 explicitly says that the ruling is to Allah, in whatever you differ. The Messenger does not make rules (5:4, 4:176, 4:127, 42:10))(And the Messenger judged with the Qur’an. Those with authority (other than the Messengers) make judgments, and you can disagree with them (4:59), but you cannot disagree with the Messenger)(According to Verse 2:213, God sent down with the Prophets the Book to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed)(Allah knows best)

3:179 Allah does not leave the believers in what you are until He separates the evil from the good. Nor does Allah inform you about the unseen, but Allah chooses from His Messengers whom He wills, so believe in Allah and His Messengers, and if you believe and fear, then for you is a great reward.

34:48 Say, "Indeed, my Lord projects the truth, the All-Knower of the unseen." 34:49 Say, "The truth has come, and falsehood can neither originate nor repeat." 34:50 Say, "If I go astray, then I only go astray against myself. But if I am guided, then it is by what my Lord reveals to me. Indeed, He is All-Hearer, Ever-Near."

(According to the context, if he is astray, the responsibility is only on himself, not on the Revelation, because the Revelation is the truth and is guidance. This is confirmed by Verse 2:272, guidance is not upon the Messengers, but God guides whom He wills)(Even if hypothetically the Prophet were to mislead people, he would not bear any burden, because he is a believer (72:13), and people have the Revelation in order to be guided. The disbelievers are the ones who would bear burdens (16:24-25), while the believers expect that they will be forgiven. “Whoever believes in his Lord, then he will not fear any loss or any burden” (72:13))(Allah knows best)

2:272 Not on you is their guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills. And whatever good you spend then it is for yourself, and do not spend except seeking the face of Allah. And whatever good you spend, will be repaid to you in full and you (will) not be wronged.

4:84 So fight in the way of Allah; you are not responsible except for yourself. And encourage the believers, perhaps Allah will restrain the might of those who disbelieved. And Allah is Stronger (in) Might and Stronger (in) punishment.

11:118 And if your Lord had willed, surely He could have made mankind one community, but they will not cease to differ. 11:119 Except on whom your Lord has bestowed Mercy, and for that He created them. And the Word of your Lord will be fulfilled, "Surely I will fill Hell with Jinn and men all together."

(Sunnis, Shias and so-called Qur’anists disagree in the matter of the hadith, but they have in common the Qur’an, in order to be united)(One interpretation of Verses 11:118-119 is that those whom Mercy is bestowed, they do not differ (11:118-119); in that sense, you can receive Mercy with the Qur’an (7:204 “And when the Qur’an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention so that you may receive mercy”), regardless or in spite of other sources. And Verse 7:52 confirms that the Qur’an is “a guidance and mercy”; so unless you get united with the Qur’an, you would differ: “they will not cease to differ. Except on whom your Lord has bestowed Mercy” (11:118-119))(Allah knows best)

3:103 And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together, and do not be divided. And remember the Favor of Allah on you when you were enemies, then He made friendship between your hearts then by His Favor you became brothers. And you were on the brink of the pit of the Fire, then He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes clear for you His Verses so that you may be guided.

57:27 Then We sent Our Messengers on their footsteps and We followed with Jesus, son of Mary, and We gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. But the monasticism they innovated - We did not prescribe it for them - only seeking the pleasure of Allah, but they did not observe it with right observance. So (fa) We gave those who believed among them their reward, but most of them are defiantly disobediently.

(According to Verse 57:27, Christians practiced monasticism, seeking the pleasure of Allah, those who believed among them had their reward. Some Sunnis and Shias might think of each other, for example, that the other party is going to Hell, while his party would go to Paradise. But, according to Verse 57:27, someone’s good intentions are taken into consideration (33:5), while he is a Believer (2:62). In the case of the hadith, people intend to obey the Messenger, and some people intend not to obey “unauthorized” people because they think that the hadith is not the sayings of the Messenger. So, Sunnis, Shiites and so-called qur’anists might have good intentions. But they cannot transgress the limits in the Qur’an, lest they become disbelievers, and that their works would become worthless. Verse 2:217 says, “And whoever among you turns away from his religion, then dies while he is a disbeliever - for those, their deeds became worthless in the world and the Hereafter. And those are the companions of the Fire, they (will) abide in it forever”)(Allah knows best)

33:5 Call them by their fathers; it is more just near Allah. But if you do not know their fathers - then they are your brothers in religion and your friends. But there is no blame upon you if you made a mistake therein, but what your hearts intended. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

2:173 He has only forbidden to you dead animals, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. So whoever is forced, without (being) disobedient, nor transgressor, then there is no sin on him. Indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

2:62 Indeed, those who believed, and those who became Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians - who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteous deeds, so for them is their reward with their Lord; and they will have no fear, nor will they grieve.

(“Sabians” is derived from the root “Sad-Ba-Hamza” and it means in concrete someone who is outside of the fold. In religious terms it points to either people that cannot be labeled as this or that religion because they do not fit in the classical example of it. It also can point to people who left their original religion and adopted another. In this context the name applies to all unaffiliated people to any religion)(So, according to Verse 2:62, the unaffiliated ones can get their reward, so you do not necessarily have to be affiliated to these names “Jews”, “Christians”, “Sunnis”, “Shiites” and so on, but you have to obey / submit to God (aka be a Muslim))(Before the Qur’an was revealed, the Jews and Christians who submitted (3:85), and believed (2:62), for them is their reward (2:62). But, for example, trinitarian Christians, those who say that Jesus is God or God is three, they are not believers (5:17 and 5:72-73))(It is interpreted that Verse 2:62 refers to those Jews and Christians who did not know about the Qur’an, because according to Verse 7:36 “those who deny Our Verses and are arrogant towards them, those are the companions of the Fire, they will abide in it forever”. Those who deny the Verses of the Qur’an are disbelievers (2:91, 52:33-34, 46:10, 10:95-97, 23:38-39, 40:70))(If Verse 2:62 is applied to Sunnies and Shias, considering that those Jews and Christians who believed would obtain their reward, both Sunnis and Shias might be in a good position, because they both believe in the Qur’an. Verse 2:277 says, “Indeed, those who believe[d] and did good deeds and established the prayer and gave the zakah (charity), they will have their reward from their Lord, and they will have no fear and nor will they grieve”)(Allah knows best)

2:277 Indeed, those who believe[d] and did good deeds and established the prayer and gave the zakah (charity), they will have their reward from their Lord, and they will have no fear and nor will they grieve.

11:115 And be patient, for indeed, Allah does not let go waste the reward of the good-doers.

3:64 Say, "O People of the Book, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we worship none except Allah, nor we associate any partners with Him and that we will not take others as lords besides Allah." Then if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims."

(In Verse 3:64, the Prophet says to the People of the Book, “that we will not take others as lords besides Allah”, so it is not just a Christian and Jewish obligation of not taking others as lords, but it is a common duty, in which Muslims cannot take others as lords either. If you obey a source which contradicts, opposes or differs from the Qur’an, then you are taking others as lords)(Allah knows best)

3:43 "O Mary, be obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow down with those who bow down."

(Sunnis and Shiites prostrate and bow down. Muslims have to prostrate and bow down with those who bow down (3:43), regardless of the small differences in prayer)(Allah knows best)

9:112 Those who turn in repentance, those who worship, those who praise, those who go out, those who bow down, those who prostrate, those who enjoin (what is) right and those who forbid (what is) wrong, and those who observe (the) limits (of) Allah. And give glad tidings (to) the believers.

(It could be objected that if Sunnis and Shias mutually consider their prayer to be wrong, according to Verse 9:112, they can forbid each other’s prayer, because they can forbid what is wrong (9:112, 3:114, 9:71), but according to the context of Verse 9:112, it mentions the basics: “those who bow down, those who prostrate”, and also mentions “those who observe the limits of Allah”. The word “limit” might imply that that which is inside the limit is allowed, as if, for example, the differences between Sunnis and Shiites could be both acceptable, as long as they do not transgress the limits (e.g. they do not transgress or sin (2:173)). On the other hand, according to Verse 4:59, you can disagree with those having authority)(If you believe in the Qur’an, but you do not believe that the hadith are the sayings of the Prophet, then you are not intending disobedience. Verse 33:5 says, “there is no blame upon you if you made a mistake therein, but what your hearts intended”. Similarly, Verse 2:173 says, “whoever is forced, without (being) disobedient, nor transgressor, then there is no sin on him”)(Allah knows best)

16:116 And do not say about what your tongues assert, a lie, "This is lawful and this is forbidden," so that you invent a lie about Allah. Indeed, those who invent a lie about Allah, they will not succeed.

(Sometimes the hadith says “I saw the Prophet of Allah ...”, so it is not even an order addressed to Muslims, but observations. In that sense, some rules were only addressed to the Prophet (e.g. in the matter of the Prophet’s wives (33:50), or in the matter of prayer (17:79), or only addressed or in regard to his wives (33:33, 33:53)), so you cannot observe a matter and say that it is also addressed to all Muslims, while it is not an explicit order. So, even if he had revelations other than the Qur’an, you might not know if that which you observed is for you or only for him, and/or his wives)(Verse 72:21 says, “Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you any harm and nor right path."; Verse 49:12 says, “O you who believe, avoid much assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin”, and Verse 4:171 says, “do not say about Allah except the truth”. So, it may be interpreted that only explicit commands are to be obeyed)(Allah knows best)

7:145 And We ordained (laws) for him in the tablets - of every thing, an instruction and explanation for everything, "So take them with firmness and order your people (to) take (the) best of it. I will show you (the) home (of) the defiantly disobedient."

(According to Verse 7:145, He ordained in the scripture, and the scripture contained everything. Likewise, the Qur’an is a clarification of everything (16:89); the religion was perfected (5:3); the Verses of the Qur’an are perfected (11:1); God completed His Favor (5:3); His word has been fulfilled / perfected / completed (6:115). These Verses suggest that the Qur’an does not need other sources in order to be “complete”)(Allah knows best)

7:29 Say, "My Lord has ordered justice, and set your faces at every masjid and invoke Him (being) sincere to Him in religion. As He originated you, (so) will you return."

(The Verse does not specify “Sunni or Shia Mosque”, but you have to set your faces at “every mosque” (place of prostration))(Allah knows best)

9:11 But if they repent, and establish prayer and give zakah, then (they are) your brothers in religion. And We explain the Verses in detail for a people (who) know.

(Those who establish prayer and give zakah (charity) are brothers in religion. There are basics in the religion, which Sunnis, Shias and other groups have in common)(Allah knows best)

42:13 He has ordained for you of the religion what He enjoined upon Noah, and that which We have revealed to you, and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not to be divided therein. Difficult for the polytheists is that to which you call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides to Himself whoever turns.

(A true monotheist should not find difficult not to be divided (42:13))(Believers cannot use the absence of a Messenger as an excuse to be divided, nor that you are waiting for someone to come in order to unite (e.g. Jesus’ second coming, or the coming of the Mahdi), but the order in the Qur’an is to be done now, there is no excuse. So, you have to obey and unite together, whether someone is coming or not. And the Sunni hadith vs. Shiite hadith is not an excuse to be divided, because all Muslims have the Qur’an with them, which is a Guidance and a Criterion over other sources. Verse 42:13 says, “to establish the religion and not to be divided therein”)(Verse 6:159 says,Indeed, those who divide their religion and become sects, you are not with them in anything”)(Verse 3:105 says, “do not be like those who became divided and differed after the clear proofs came to them. And they will have a great punishment”)(Allah knows best)

2:185 The month of Ramadhan is that in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever witnesses among you the month, then he should fast in it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then the prescribed number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and that you complete the period and to magnify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and that you may be grateful.

(The Qur’an is a criterion to know what is true, over any other source. So, you cannot disregard the Qur’an in order to prove someone’s sayings to be right. Proving the sayings to be right, just because of a certain chain of narrators, is not an evidence in itself)(Allah knows best)

3:4 Before (this), as guidance for mankind. And (He) revealed the Criterion. Verily, those who disbelieved in the Verses of Allah, for them is a severe punishment. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Able of retribution.

23:52 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion. And I Am your Lord, so fear Me. 23:53 But they cut off their affair between them into sects, each faction rejoices in what they have.

(Verse 23:52 says, “each faction rejoices in what they have”, so, instead of confirming or approving “what they have” (other than the Qur’an), it relates their division as something wrong)(Allah knows best)

49:10 The believers are only brothers, so make peace between your brothers, and fear Allah so that you may receive mercy.

41:33 And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteous deeds and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims/those who submit?"

(Whether you follow the Sunnah of the Sunnis or the Sunnah of the Shiites, the name of those who submit is “Muslim”. Another name or addition to the name (e.g. Sunni Muslim and Shia Muslim) would imply division, and an innovation which would be not supported in the Qur’an. Verse 3:105 says, “And do not be like those who became divided and differed after the clear proofs came to them. And they will have a great punishment”. So, mankind has much to lose because of those divisions)(The Messengers are called “Muslims / Submitted (to God)”; they are not called “Jews” or “Christians” in the Qur’an (2:140), nor there is any mention of “Sunni” and/or “Shiite)(Allah knows best)

3:105 And do not be like those who became divided and differed after the clear proofs came to them. And they will have a great punishment.

(“Christian” is sectarian too, because is named after “Jesus Christ”, and “Jew” is sectarian because is named after “Judah”. The true religion is not named after a person)(Allah knows best)

2:128 Our Lord, and make us Muslims [submissive] to You and from our descendants a Muslim community [submissive] to You. And show us our rites and turn to us. Indeed, You are the Oft-Returning, the Most Merciful.

22:78 And strive for Allah with the striving which is due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you any difficulty in the religion. The religion of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before, and in this, that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over mankind. So establish prayer and give zakah (charity) and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protector - so an Excellent Protector and an Excellent Helper.

(God revealed to Muhammad the religion of Abraham, so the rites in Islam are from the time of Abraham, not from Muhammad. Muslims must follow the religion of Abraham (16:123))(Allah knows best)

6:159 Indeed, those who divide their religion and become sects, you are not with them in anything. Their affair is only with Allah, then He will inform them of what they used to do.

17:53 And say to My slaves to say that which is best. Indeed, Satan sows discord between them. Indeed, Satan is a clear enemy to man.

33:40 Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but the Messenger of Allah and Seal of the Prophets. And ever is Allah , of all things, Knowing.

(One interpretation is that the Seal of the Prophets could imply that there are no more Scriptures after the Qur’an, because Prophets came with a Book (19:30, 5:44, 4:163, 17:55) and wisdom. So, there are no new Prophets with new books, after Muhammad and the Qur’an. A compilation of hadiths might be considered a new book. For example, “Sahih al-Bukhari” was completed 214 years later, after the time of the Prophet)(See the differences between a Messenger and a Prophet in the link below)(Allah knows best)

4:94 O you who believe, when you go forth in the way of Allah, then investigate, and do not say to the one who offers you peace, "You are not a believer," seeking the transitory gains of the worldly life; for with Allah are abundant booties. You were like that before, then Allah conferred favor upon you; so investigate. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

(Some Sunnies and Shias generalize and call the other party “disbeliever”. The believers could have different ranks (4:95), and there are/were Jews and Christians who were believers (2:62). See in the link below, “Is there any difference between “Muslim” and “Believer”?”)(Allah knows best)

49:6 O you who believe, if a wicked person comes to you with information, investigate, lest you harm a people in ignorance, then you become regretful over what you have done.

(If Muslims divide, then it might benefit the enemies of Islam, but Muslims are ordered not to be divided (6:159, 42:13, 3:103, 3:105). Some people use to spread falsehood, generalize and defame other groups or sects, so that, for example, Arabs might hate Persians; and Persians might hate Arabs (e.g. Sunnis vs. Shiites); while, for example, whether some Persians like it or not, Muhammad is Arab, and the Qur’an is (from God) in Arabic language. And whether some Arabs like it or not, the compilers of all the main hadiths (Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, Al-Tirmidhi, Al-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah) are all Persian people; so, the six canonical books of hadith for the Sunnis, also called “the authentic six”, come from “Persia”)(None of these Persians are mentioned in the Qur’an, so they are names of “unknown” people, and it is not known about they having any authority or being ordered to compile it)(Many people opposed and tried to defame Jesus, and also many people tried to defame Muhammad during his lifetime in this world and right after, as an excuse, in order to expel or kill or try to prove the Messengers wrong (e.g. Jesus never said that he was God, but Jews used such a lie for trying to kill him, then gentiles made such a lie their religion. Similarly, some people wanted to include in Islam defamation against Muhammad as if it were part of Islam, for example, “drinking urine”, “the story of a prophet running naked”, “the prophet marrying a 6 years old”, etc. It is not just a matter of Sunnis against Shiites and vice versa, but many Sunnis and even Sunni scholars disagree with other Sunnis in those controversial matters, so you have to use the Qur’an as a Criterion to know the truth. See the links below about some controversial matters which might contradict the Qur’an: “Does Islam support pedophilia or child marriages? Did Prophet Muhammad marry a 6 year old?”, etc.)(Allah knows best)

11:96 And certainly We sent Moses with Our Signs and a clear authority, ... 19:51 And mention in the Book, Moses. Indeed, he was chosen, and he was a Messenger, a Prophet. ... 28:35 He said, "We will strengthen your arm through your brother and We will make for both of you an authority, so they will not reach both of you. Through Our Signs, you two and (those) who follow you (will) be the dominant."

(The compilers were not Messengers or Prophets, they were not sent with signs or a clear authority. It could be objected that the Qur’an was also transmitted by people. An answer to this is that the Birmingham Ancient Qur’an is from the time of Muhammad, so we know that the Qur’an has been preserved. And the Qur’an has been fully memorized from the time of Muhammad to this day, and any Muslim knew and knows the Qur’an’s content. On the other hand, each alleged story of the Prophet was not told by each hadith narrator, or by each Muslim. For example, among Shias there is no a hadith saying that the Prophet married a 6 year old, etc. (In addition, many Sunnis reject such a story too (after checking its lack of reliability), and, in addition, some Verses of the Qur’an may support that you cannot marry a child))(Allah knows best)

4:93 And whoever kills a believer intentionally, then his recompense is Hell, abiding in it forever; and Allah's wrath will fall on him and He (will) curse him and He has prepared for him a great punishment.

(Verse 4:93 is very explicit. Those who fear the punishment would not kill a believer)(The differences among Sunnis, Shiites and so-called Qur’anist, in regard to the hadith, caused people to kill one another, and caused lack of union, which is forbidden)(Allah knows best)

17:82 And We reveal from the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss. … 17:84 Say, "Each works according to his manner, but your Lord is most knowing of who is best guided in way."

(Verse 17:84 implies freedom of religion, but some people is best guided in way than others. Notice that the context is “and We reveal from the Qur’an...”)(The Qur’an is the best statement (39:23), and you are better guided with the Qur’an (6:157))(Verse 17:82 does not mention sources other than the Qur’an, in order to obtain “healing and mercy”)(Allah knows best)

8:2 The believers are only those who feel fear in their hearts when Allah is mentioned, and when His Verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith, and they put their trust in their Lord.

(The Qur’an increases the believers in faith (8:2). There is no mention of sources other than the Qur’an, in order to increase them in faith)(If the hadith of the Sunnis or the hadith of the Shiites do not increase in faith to some people, then, there is freedom of religion, you do not have to fight them, but for them their deeds and for you your deeds)(Notice that Verse 8:2 says, “the believers are only those who … when His Verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith …”. So, in order to be a believer, the Verse mentions “Allah” and “Verses” of the Qur’an. So, in the Qur’an, there is no mention of sources, other than the Qur’an Itself, that, by following those other sources, you would be or become a believer)(Allah knows best)

10:41 And if they deny you then say, "For me are my deeds, and for you are your deeds. You are disassociated from what I do, and I am disassociated from what you do."

(If someone denies you, e.g. they disagree with you, the Verse does not tell about fighting. Fighting is in self-defense (2:190), and against oppression (2:191))(Allah knows best)

2:224 And do not make Allah an excuse in your oaths that you do good, and be righteous and make peace between people. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

2:113 The Jews say, "The Christians have nothing upon." And the Christians say, "The Jews have nothing upon," although they both recite the Book. Thus say those who do not know similar statements. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection in which they were differing.

(Christians and Jews have different “hadith / sayings” in their religion (the Talmud, the epistles of Paul), although they have the same Book (the Torah, and the Gospel which confirms the Torah (3:50)). Verse 2:113 does not mention sources other than “Scriptures” (e.g. Torah / Gospel), so the Scriptures prevail over other sources)(Similarly, Sunnis and Shiites recite the same Scripture (the Qur’an). According to Verse 2:113, those who do not know say similar statements (e.g. “you have nothing upon”). And the Verse mentions a common Scripture, (the Qur’an in the case of Muslims), by which Muslims have to unite, regardless of other sources in which they might differ)(The Qur’an does not explicitly support that the hadith was something intended, or that God revealed it, but the hadith are sayings attributed to the Prophet, collected by people, so a new “book” was made, so the Verses do not mention secondary sources, but “Book” in Verse 2:113 refers to the Scripture which Allah revealed. So, the Verse does not say that people would not differ in regard to secondary sources)(On the other hand, the Qur’an warns you about people who invent (e.g. Verse 2:79))(Allah knows best)

16:125 Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and discuss with them in that which is best. Indeed, your Lord, He is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, And He is most knowing of the guided ones.

(Allah is most knowing of who is right)(Verse 16:125 says, “discuss with them in that which is best”; in that sense, the hadith is not “that which is best” in order to discuss, but many non-Muslims use the hadith against Islam, because of some controversial matters (e.g. marrying a 6 years old little girl, (which is not supported in the Qur’an), etc.); and it might prevent people from Islam. On the other hand, the Qur’an is called “the best statement/hadith” (39:23))(In regard to “Al-Tabari”, notice that non-Muslim sources tell very good things about Al-Tabari, as if he were the best scholar ever. For example, you cannot find any bad word about him in the articles “Al-Tabari” and “Tafsir al-Tabari” in wikipedia (to date). While there are many false stories in Al-Tabari and the Tafsir of Al-Tabari. So, whenever a critic or Islamophobe quotes a story from Ibn Ishaq or Al-Tabari, as an authentic and reliable Islamic source - it’s most likely false, and the stories are not even confirmed in the Qur’an, or the major hadith collections, then it is to be rejected. Some Muslim historians and biographers collected false stories and put them in their books, while many people lied during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, and people were going to lie or make up stories after the time of the Prophet Muhammad. For example, the satanic verses story is obviously false and only found in Al-Tabari)(Christoph Luxenberg, the author of the infamous book “The Syro-Aramaic reading of the Koran: A contribution to the decoding of the language of the Koran”, in his proposed methodology, he wants people to firstly check “Tafsir al-Tabari)(Christoph Luxenberg’s statements are ridiculous and he is exposing himself, rather than exposing Islam)(Al-Tabari, and many others, did not understand that there were many people at the time of the Prophet, defaming Islam, so you cannot collect everything you heard about the Prophet. And defamation went on, and goes on and on today)(See the link below, “Does the Qur'an have Syro-Aramaic origins?”)(Allah knows best)

4:51 Do you not see those who were given a portion of the Book? They believe in superstition and false deities, and they say about those who disbelieve[d] "These are better guided to the way than those who believe[d].

(There is a hadith about obtaining forgiveness by saying “Amin” at the same time than the Angels. It is not supported by the Qur’an, but the Qur’an tells a different way to obtain forgiveness. Actually “games of chance” are forbidden (5:90))(Allah knows best)

5:90 O you who believe, verily, intoxicants and games of chance and (sacrifices at) altars and divining arrows are an abomination from the work of Satan, so avoid it so that you may be successful.

11:114 And establish the prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.

69:40 Indeed, it is surely the Word of a noble Messenger. 69:41 And it is not a word (wama huwa biqawli) of a poet; little is what you believe 69:42 Nor it is the word of a soothsayer; little is what you take heed. 69:43 (It is) a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 69:44 And if he had fabricated against Us some sayings (l-aqawili), 69:45 We would certainly have seized him by the right hand;

(The Word of the Messenger is a Revelation from Allah (69:40-44). It is interpreted that “it” (Word) in Verses 69:40 and 69:41 refers to the Qur’an, because, Verses 69:41 and 81:25 say the same sentence “and it is not” (wama huwa biqawli), referring to the “Reminder” (81:27); and the “Reminder” refers to the Qur’an (7:2, 15:9, 20:2-3, 36:69))(Another point is that the sentence “In the name of Allah” is said before reading the Qur’an, because the Messenger is not saying anything on his own name or on his own behalf or he did not invent any saying, but he just recite that which has been revealed to him from God (18:27))(If you were to say Bismillah before your own writing, you would be fabricating sayings, because you are not a Messenger, and your writing is not revelation, but has other purposes (e.g. passing an exam, etc.). Someone’s writing might have mistakes, so you cannot say that it is from God or in his name. The Messenger said, “if I would know of the unseen, surely I could have multiplied of the good and no evil would have touched me” (7:188))(Notice that there is no “Bismillah” before each hadith)(On the other hand, some hadith tell about saying “Bismillah”, for example, when one does wudhu, in order to washing away the sins committed, or saying “Bismillah” before falling asleep, in order to having a good deed for every breath he takes”. So, you do good deeds by only breathing and saying “Bismillah”, rather than “doing” the good deeds? According to Verse 20:15, “every soul may be recompensed for what it strives (for)”)(Allah knows best)

27:30 Indeed, it (is) from Solomon, and indeed, it (is), "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,

(The sentence “In the name of Allah” implies that it is not the Prophet’s own words. Only the Qur’an starts with “In the name of Allah”. According to Verse 27:30, it is not Solomon’s own words, but it is “from Solomon”, who conveys God’s message)(Allah knows best)

10:57 O mankind, verily there has come to you an instruction from your Lord and a healing for what is in your breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers.

(This Verse is addressed to mankind. The Qur’an is that which has come to mankind, because “a healing” refers to the Qur’an (17:82), and also “a guidance and a mercy” refers to the Qur’an (6:157). So, the “instruction” mentioned in Verse 10:57 refers to the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

72:13 And that when we heard the Guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord, then he will not fear any loss or any burden.

(Believing in the Guidance benefits people. The Guidance refers to the Qur’an. So, the Qur’an is not “incomplete” in order to obtain benefit)(Allah knows best)

50:45 We know best what they say, and you are not the one to compel them. But remind with the Qur’an whoever fears My threat.

(According to the context, the Messenger cannot compel, but he reminds with the Qur’an, so he uses the Qur’an in order to be willingly obeyed. In other words, this Verse only mentions one source (The Qur’an), in regard to be willingly obeyed)(Allah knows best)

3:184 Then if they reject you, then certainly Messengers were rejected before you, (who) came with clear Signs and Scriptures and the Enlightening Book.

(The Messengers came with clear Signs, Scriptures and the Book, and were rejected. It is interpreted that a collection of sayings of the Prophet is not “the Book” (mentioned in the Qur’an), but people made a book of those sayings)(In regard to rejecting the Messenger, the hadith collectors rejected around 99% of the hadith, so that which people have today of the hadith is around 1% of what they collected, so it is close to 0%, which might suggest that no hadith was to be written down. This is supported by a hadith in which the Messenger prohibited to write down anything from him, except the Qur’an. And the 99% implies that there was a lot of wrong information going around, since the time of Muhammad. See the link below, “Strategies against Islam. Is it something new?”)(People also use the hadith to validate that they can write down the hadith (hadith supporting hadith), instead of searching support from the Qur’an, to validate the hadith. And the authors were not Messengers, but they are validated/authorized by people (people supporting people), instead of by the Qur’an, which does not explicitly support the hadith or its collectors)(Allah knows best)

3:78 And indeed, among them is surely a group - they distort their tongues in the Book so that you may think it is from the Book, but it is not from the Book. And they say, "This is from Allah." but it is not from Allah. And they say the lie about Allah while they know.

(Scholars have reported that some hadith collector did not care about the authenticity of the hadith, but just compiled everything he found. But even the one who care about the authenticity, he does it according to his knowledge, but they are not infallible, because it’s a fact that some hadith contradict the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

4:136 O you who believe(d), believe in Allah and His Messenger, and the Book which He revealed upon His Messenger and the Book which He revealed before. And whoever disbelieves in Allah and His Angels, and His Books, and His Messengers and the Last Day, then surely he (has) lost (the) way, straying far away.

(The believers are required to believe in the Book which God revealed upon Muhammad (the Qur’an). In this Verse, it is not required to believe in books other than the Scriptures)(The sentence “believe in Allah and His Messenger, and the Book...” does not imply different books or additional information (it is not supported by other Verses). In addition, Verse 4:136 speaks about believing in the Angels as well, and, in regard to the Angel, he brought the Qur’an down from your Lord (16:101-102); so, God, the Messenger and/or the Angel are mentioned in regard to only the Qur’an and other Scriptures (Torah, Gospel,...), while there is no mention or approval of additional books. And Verse 2:79 says, “So woe to those who write the book with their hands, then they say, "This is from Allah,")(Allah knows best)

6:82 Those who believed and did not mix their belief with wrong, those, for them, is the security, and they are rightly guided.

(You cannot mix your belief with wrong (e.g. you cannot mix your belief, in that which is said in the Qur’an, with wrong))(Allah knows best)

6:93 And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or said, "It has been inspired to me" while nothing was inspired to him, and one who said, "I will reveal like what Allah has revealed." And if you could see when the wrongdoers are in the agonies of death while the Angels are stretching their hands, "Discharge your souls, today you will be recompensed with a humiliating punishment because you used to say against Allah other than the truth and you were being arrogant towards His Verses."

(According to Verse 6:93, no one can reveal like what Allah has revealed, and they are punished because they were arrogant towards the “Verses” (aka The Qur’an), and they said against Allah other than the truth)(The context of Verse 6:93 is in Verse 6:92 “this (is) a Book, We have revealed it” (aka the Qur’an). So, it suggests that there are no revelations “like” the Qur’an and the previous Scriptures (6:93))(Allah knows best)

6:92 And this (is) a Book, We have revealed it, blessed, confirming (that) which (came) before it, so that you may warn (the) mother (of) the cities and who (are) around it. And those who believe in the Hereafter, they believe in it, and they (are) guarding over their prayers.

(Verse 6:92 does not mention books, but only “this” Qur’an, in order to warn people)(Verse 21:45 confirms that "I only warn you by the revelation." (i.e. the Qur’an). The Qur’an is also a warning (44:2-3, 20:113))(Allah knows best)

6:151 Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. That do not associate anything with Him, and be good to parents, and do not kill your children (out) of poverty, We provide for you and for them. And do not go near immoralities what is apparent of them and what is concealed. And do not kill the soul, which Allah has forbidden except by right. That (He) has enjoined on you with it, so that you may use reason."

(According to Verse 6:151, the Messenger will recite that which God has prohibited to you, and such prohibitions are actually mentioned in the Qur’an. If there were prohibitions other than that which is recited in the Qur’an, then the Verses of the Qur’an would be incomplete, but the Qur’an says that the religion has been perfected (5:3); and God completed His Favor (5:3); His word has been fulfilled / perfected / completed (6:115); the Qur’an is a clarification of everything (16:89); the Verses of the Qur’an are perfected (11:1))(Verse 7:157 refers to the unlettered prophet “who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong”. And according to Verse 6:151 God ordered him to recite it: “Say, “come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you”, so God is the One Who reveals to the Messenger that which is prohibited, then the Prophet enjoins it upon them)(Allah knows best)

6:149 Say, "With Allah is the conclusive (l-balighatu) argument. And if He (had) willed, surely He (would) have guided you all." 6:150 Say, "Bring forward your witnesses, those who testify that Allah prohibited this." Then if they testify, then (do) not testify with them. And (do) not follow (the) desires (of) those who denied Our Signs and those who (do) not believe in the Hereafter, while they set up equals with their Lord. … 6:153 And this is My straight path, so follow it. And do not follow the (other) paths, then they will separate you from His path. That (He) has enjoined on you, so that you may become righteous. … 6:155 And this is a blessed Book which We have revealed, so follow it and fear so that you may receive mercy.

(A previous Verse says, “With Allah is the conclusive argument” (6:149). The word “balighatu” (conclusive) also implies “intended; determined; reaching; bringing, conveying or delivering communications, announcements, news or tidings, etc.”. So, according to the context, it implies that the Qur’an is the intended revelation)(Allah knows best)

6:156 Lest you say, "The Book was only revealed to the two groups before us, and indeed we were certainly unaware about their study." 6:157 or you say, "If the Book was revealed to us, surely, we (would) have been better guided than them. So verily there has come to you clear proofs from your Lord and a Guidance and a Mercy. Then who is more unjust than (he) who denies the Verses of Allah, and turns away from them? We will recompense those who turn away from Our Signs with an evil punishment because they used to turn away.

(By reading these Verses (6:149-151, 153, 155-157), there is no explicit mention of any source other than the Qur’an; but Verse 6:157 tells about being better guided if they had had the Book, so it implicitly tells that the Qur’an is better than any other source)(Verse 6:155 commands people to follow the Qur’an, because “follow it” is a plural verb, so the Verse does not explicitly mention a Scripture other than the Qur’an)(In addition, Verse 6:157 says, “who is more unjust than (he) who denies the Verses of Allah, and turns away from them?”. So, there is no-one more unjust than the one who denies the Verses of Allah. We cannot differentiate between Allah and His Messengers (4:150), so denying the Messengers might imply denying the Verses of Allah recited by the Messengers (15:80-81))(Verse 6:153 says, “this is My straight path, so follow it. And do not follow the (other) paths, then they will separate you from His path”. It implies that other than “this” are (other) paths, which separate from His/(this) path)(Allah knows best)

8:45 O you who believe, when you meet a force, then be firm and remember Allah much, so that you may (be) successful. 8:46 And obey Allah and His Messenger, and (do) not dispute lest you lose courage and your strength (would) depart, and be patient. Indeed, Allah (is) with the patient ones.

(In Verses 8:45-46, “obeying the Messenger” is in the matter of war, so it is not about the Prophet making rules about matters)(Allah knows best)

21:45 Say, "I only warn you by the revelation." But the deaf (do) not hear the call when they are warned.

(In Verse 21:45, Muhammad is ordered to say “I only warn you by the revelation”. It is interpreted that “Revelation” refers to the Qur’an (41:2-3, 39:1, 32:2, 41:41-42, 26:192, 36:2-5), so the “warning” is only in the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

93:11 But (wa) as for (the) Favor (of) your Lord, narrate (fahaddith).

(God orders the Prophet to “haddith / narrate” (93:11). But it is not specified that which he has to narrate, unless it refers to the Qur’an Itself. It might be confirmed by Verse 2:76, which uses the same word “haddith” ("Do you tell (tuhaddithu) them what Allah has revealed to you”), so Verse 2:76 tells that he narrates the revelation / what God has revealed; Revelation refers to the Qur’an (2:23, 2:99, 2:176, 2:185, 2:231, 3:3, 3:7, 4:136, 4:140, 5:48, 5:101))(Allah knows best)

4:140 And surely He has revealed to you in the Book that when you hear the Verses of Allah being rejected and ridiculed, then do not sit with them until they engage in a conversation other than that. Indeed, you then, (would be) like them. Indeed, Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers in Hell all together.

29:10 And of the people are those who say, "We believe in Allah." But when he is harmed in Allah , he considers the trial of the people as the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they surely say, "Indeed, we were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is in the breasts of the worlds?

(It is said that the companions narrated the hadith, so it is a reliable source, because they witnessed it, but Verse 29:10 might say otherwise, just because they met the Prophet, it does not mean that all of them were pious, on the contrary, the Qur’an confirms that there were hypocrites among the Prophet (63:1). Verses 29:10 and 4:141 confirm that they were with the Messenger (“Indeed, we were with you” (29:10), "Were we not with you?" (4:141))(Even two wives of Muhammad were against the Prophet (66:4-5). According to Verse 66:5, unless they correct themselves, there were wives better than two of his wives, in these matters: “submissive, faithful, obedient, repentant, who worship”)(Allah knows best)

4:141 Those who are waiting for you. Then if (there) was a victory for you from Allah they say, "Were we not with you?" But if (there) was a chance for the disbelievers, they said, "Did we not have advantage over you and we protected you from the believers?" And Allah will judge between you (on the) Day (of) the Resurrection, and never will Allah make for the disbelievers over the believers a way. 4:142 Indeed, the hypocrites (seek to) deceive Allah and (it is) He Who deceives them. And when they stand for prayer, they stand lazily, showing off to the people and they do not remember Allah except a little.

61:5 And when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you hurt me while you certainly know that I am the Messenger of Allah to you?" Then when they deviated, Allah caused their hearts to deviate. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.

(Many people assume that people with the Prophet gave reliable information, while you do not know what is in their hearts/mind)(Allah knows best)

63:1 When the hypocrites come to you, they say, "We testify that you are surely the Messenger of Allah." And Allah knows that you are surely His Messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites are surely liars. 63:2 They take their oaths (as) a cover, so they turn away from the Way of Allah. Indeed, evil is what they used to do.

64:14 O you who believe, indeed, from your spouses and your children are enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon and overlook and forgive, then indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

3:138 This is a declaration (bayanun) for the people and guidance and admonition for the God-fearing.

(Verse 3:138 says “this” in regard to the Qur’an, and “this is a clarification / declaration (bayanun). People say that the hadith clarifies / explains the Qur’an, while according to the Verse, the Qur’an Itself is a clarification)(Allah knows best)

3:3 He revealed to you the Book in truth which confirms that which was before it and He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.

(God revealed the Gospel (3:3). Muslims say that the current Gospel is corrupted. The current Gospel is a compilation of “hadith / narrations” by people (gospel according to John, etc.), then it is not fully reliable)(The Qur’an mentions the Gospel and the Torah which was revealed by God (3:3), rather than secondary sources (books) narrated by people. There is no mention of any Prophet having an additional (written) source of information other than the Scripture. Actually, additional sources made Jews and Christians deviate (e.g. Gospel according to “people”, the epistles of Paul, the Talmud, rabbis’ innovations, monks’ innovations, etc.))(Allah knows best)

39:18 Those who listen to the Word, then follow the best thereof, those are they whom Allah has guided, and those are men of understanding.

(In order to listening to the Word, and following the best thereof: the Qur’an is the “best” statement (39:23). And Verse 17:84 says, "Each works according to his manner, but your Lord is most knowing of who is best guided in way.". So, people have different opinions, even, for example, among Sunnis themselves. For example, Sunnis cannot force other Sunnis into believing each hadith, while some of them are controversial and rejected by Sunni scholars themselves because there are evidences to do so, despite of all hadith were called “authentic”, in order to force people into them. Shiites do likewise, they call some people “the infallible”, as if they were free from error, while the Qur’an only support that the Messengers were free from error in their duties (53:2, 7:60-61, 7:66-67, 52:33, 69:44-46), but the hadith is not from the Messenger itself, but involves narrators or people’s sayings about the Prophet, so it could contain errors. As a result, most hadith were rejected by the hadith collectors)(Allah knows best)

27:76 Indeed, this Qur’an relates to the Children of Israel most of that (concerning which) they differ in it. 27:77 And indeed, it (is) surely a guidance and a mercy for the believers.

(The Qur’an clarifies so that people might be guided and not to differ. There is no explicit mention of other sources by which people might be guided and not to differ, but only the Qur’an/the Scripture is mentioned for that purpose)(Allah knows best)

49:7 And know that among you (is the) Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would surely be in difficulty, but Allah has endeared the Faith to you and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made disbelief, and defiance, and disobedience hateful to you. Those (are) they - the guided ones.

(Verse 49:7 might confirm that the Messenger is to be obeyed in his lifetime, in this world, because the Verse says that the Messenger is among “you” (e.g. among the companions), and disobedience is hateful to “you”. The word “you” used in these two sentences is in the plural, in Arabic)(Verse 49:7 might confirm that you cannot obey those with the Messenger, because if the Messenger were to obey them, you would surely be in difficulty (49:7). Notice that the context of the Verse is about those with him, and about he disobeying them, on the other hand, disobeying God is hateful to him. So, there is a distinction about whom you have to obey)(Another point is that “those with him” may include hadith narrators)(Allah knows best)

3:101 And how (could) you disbelieve while (the) Verses (of) Allah are recited upon you and among you (is) His Messenger? And whoever holds firmly to Allah, then surely, he is guided to a straight path.

(Verse 3:101 is addressed to people who is with the Messenger, so they have the Qur’an, and among them is the Messenger, in order to believe. The Verse might imply that if the Messenger were not with them, they would be more exposed to disbelieve (e.g. he is with them for private consultations (58:12)), rather than mentioning verses or narrations other than the Qur’an)(Notice that they do not have excuse for disbelieving, because the “Verses (of) Allah are recited upon you”, and another point for not having a excuse for disbelieving, at that time, is that “among you (is) His Messenger”. On the other hand, at this time, the Messenger is not with us to confirm or deny the sayings or matters which today are attributed to him, so many people differ in it, but people do not differ in the Qur’an, lest you become disbeliever. Notice that after mentioning those sentences, the Verse goes on saying that by holding firmly to Allah, you are guided to a straight path. Likewise, Verse 3:103 says, “hold firmly to the rope of Allah”, and says, “Thus Allah makes clear for you His Verses so that you may be guided”, so Verse 3:103 implies that you are guided with the Verses (of the Qur’an) Themselves)(The sentence: “you are not guided if you do not follow the hadith” contradicts the Qur’an, and is an innovation)(It could be interpreted that once the Messenger is not with us, we have the Qur’an to be guided)(Allah knows best)

58:12 O you who believe, when you privately consult the Messenger, then offer (in) charity before your private consultation. That (is) better and purer for you. But if you do not find, then indeed, Allah (is) Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(Verse 58:12 mentions private matters, which may imply that it was not intended to be heard by anyone, nor by future generations)(Allah knows best)

4:150 Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers and they wish to differentiate between Allah and His Messengers and they say, "We believe in some and we disbelieve in others." And they wish to take a way (in) between that. 4:151 Truly, those - they (are) the disbelievers. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment. 4:152 And those who believe in Allah and His Messengers and they do not differentiate between (any) one of them, those - soon He will give them their reward. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(The Messengers do not speak on their own, but they convey God’s Message (5:67), so you cannot disobey the Messenger, lest you disobey God (4:80), then, you cannot differentiate between Allah and His Messengers)(In the case of the Qur’an and hadith, there are some hadith that, according to scholars, might contradict the Qur’an; if it contradicts the Qur’an, then you know that the Qur’an is correct, while other sources that contradict or oppose the Qur’an are not from God (4:82))(Allah knows best)

10:59 Say, "Have you seen what Allah has sent down for you of the provision, and you have made of it unlawful and lawful?" Say, "Has Allah permitted you or do you invent against Allah?"

(Many Verses of the Qur’an order that which the Messenger is ordered to say, because the Verses start with the word “Say!”)(In the case of making lawful and unlawful, Verse 5:1 confirms that which is made lawful, and also that which is made unlawful, and it is recited in the Qur’an (5:3))(Allah knows best)

26:107 Indeed, I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 26:108 So fear Allah and obey me.

(God is the One to be feared if you disobey the Messenger, because it is God’s Command (16:2))(Allah knows best)

39:41 Indeed, We revealed to you the Book for mankind in truth. So whoever accepts guidance, then (it is) for his (own) soul; and whoever goes astray then he only (goes) stray against his (own soul). And you (are) not a manager over them.

(God revealed to Muhammad the Book (the Qur’an). The Verse does not mention a revelation other than the Book (e.g. “sayings” is not a book)(Allah knows best)

15:80 And certainly (the) companions (of) the Rocky Tract denied the Messengers. 15:81 And We gave them Our Signs/Verses, but they were turning away from them.

47:2 And those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down upon Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He will remove from them their misdeeds and amend their condition. 47:3 That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood and those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus Allah presents to people their similitudes.

(According to Verse 47:2, the believers believe in that which has been sent down upon Muhammad – and it is the truth from their Lord. That which has been sent down upon him is the Qur’an, it is confirmed by Verse 16:44 and Verse 15:6 “has been sent down the Reminder”. The “Reminder” refers to the Qur’an (20:2-3, 29:51, 36:69, 38:1, 41:41))(Allah knows best)

22:52 And We (did) not send a Messenger or a Prophet before you but when he recited, Satan threw in his recitation. But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws, then Allah will establish His Verses. And Allah (is) All-Knower, All-Wise.

(A Messenger or Prophet recites the Verses, and Satan throws something in it, which is in fact abolished by the Verses Themselves (22:52), then God establishes His Verses (22:52). There is no mention of preserving other than the Qur’an. Satan may have also been throwing on people’s sayings / hadith. But we know for sure that God preserved / established His Verses (aka The Qu’ran))(Allah knows best)

17:93 Or you have a house of ornament or you ascend into the sky. And never we will believe in your ascension until you bring down to us a book that we could read." Say, "Glorified is my Lord, "what am I but a human Messenger."

(The sentence in Verse 17:93 implies that Muhammad is not the author of any book)(Allah knows best)

3:7 He is the One Who revealed to you the Book, in it are Verses which are absolutely clear - they are the foundation of the Book, and others are allegorical. Then as for those in whose hearts is perversity - [so] they follow what is allegorical of it, seeking discord and seeking its interpretation. And none except Allah knows its interpretation. And those who are firm in knowledge, they say, "We believe in it. All is from our Lord." And not will take heed except men of understanding.

(Islam is based on the Verses of the Qur’an, and there are Verses which are absolutely clear (3:7), which may imply that you do not have to look at other sources in order to understand the Qur’an, but instead, the Qur’an explains and clarifies previous Scriptures, and is a Criterion)(Christians made the mistake of basing their religion in other sources, for example, Paul, who never met Jesus in person)(In regard to the hadith, there are hadith narrators who never met Muhammad in person, so they did not witness it directly, so it is a second-hand information. It could be objected that the Qur’an was also transmitted orally, but the Birmingham Qur’an manuscript have been dated back to the time of Muhammad, and there is a similarity of 100% with the Qur’an used today)(A recent study has argued that the Qur’an we have today is exactly the same as the one compiled by ‘Ali ibn Abi-Talib, and that the reading of Hafs from his teacher ‘Asim to be the unaltered reading of ‘Ali. This is because ‘Asim’s teacher, Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami, had learnt the Qur’an from ‘Ali. Furthermore, Hafs was a Companion of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq and it is claimed that the latter had inherited ‘Ali’s Master Copy of the Qur’an. The study provides a case that it was ‘Ali’s Master Copy which formed the basis of the ‘Uthmanic canon. As for the reading of Hafs, the study presents evidence that the latter had learnt the Qur’an from two sources: ‘Asim who was his main teacher, and Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq who provided him a corrective of ‘Asim’s reading. This can very well mean that the reading of Hafs from Asim is the de facto reading of ‘Ali which he inherited from the Prophet till the very last dot)(Source: Ahmed El-Wakil)(See the link below, “Has the Qur'an been preserved?”)(Allah knows best)

5:104 And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger," they said, "Sufficient for us is that upon which we found our forefathers." Even though their forefathers knew nothing, nor were they guided?

(Verse 5:104 is against those people’s “tradition”)(Allah knows best)

5:116 And when Allah said, "O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to the people, "Take me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?" He said, "Glory be to You, it was not for me to say what I had no right. If I had said it, then surely You would have known it. You know what is in myself, and I do not know what is in Yourself. Indeed, You, You are All-Knower of the unseen. 5:117 I did not say to them except what You commanded me – that, "You worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." And I was over them a witness as long as I was among them, then when You raised me, You were the Watcher over them, and You are Witness over all things.

(In Christianity, people attributed to Jesus sentences that he had never said. People also did it at the time of the Prophet Muhammad, so most hadith were rejected by the collectors)(History says that Christians also defame Muhammad. So, there were people defaming the Prophet and inventing about him, at the time of the Prophet. A hadith, which is from the time of the Prophet, does not imply that it is authentic in itself, but it only implies that it is early)(Christianity is based on those lies about Jesus, instead of real events which are related in the Qur’an)(Jesus was not with them (Christians) anymore to tell that he never said “take me as god”. Likewise, Muhammad is not among us to confirm or deny the sayings attributed to himself)(On the other hand, the Prophet prohibited writing down other than the Qur’an. It seems that this order was obeyed a long period of time, until the hadith collectors “disobeyed”, or “reinterpreted” that saying. If they did it in disobedience, whether it was intentional or not, then mankind is in loss)(Allah knows best)

14:30 And they set up equals to Allah so that they mislead from His Path. Say, "Enjoy, but indeed, your destination (is) [to] the Fire."

28:85 Indeed, He Who ordained upon you the Quran (will) surely take you back to a place of return. Say, "My Lord (is) most knowing (of him) who comes with the guidance, and who [he] (is) in a manifest error." 28:86 And you were not expecting that the Book would be sent down to you, except (as) a mercy from your Lord. So (do) not be an assistant to the disbelievers. 28:87 And (let) not avert you from (the) Verses (of) Allah after they have been revealed to you. And invite to your Lord. And do not be of the polytheists.

(Verse 28:85 speaks about only “ordaining the Qur’an” to the Prophet (“you” is singular))(Allah knows best)

33:66 (The) Day their faces will be turned about in the Fire, they will say, "O we wish we (had) obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!" 33:67 And they will say, "Our Lord, indeed, we obeyed our chiefs and our great men, and they misled us (from) the Way.

25:32 And those who disbelieve said, "Why was the Qur’an not revealed to him all at once?" Thus, that We may strengthen thereby your heart, and We have recited it (with distinct) recitation. 25:33 And they (do) not come to you with an example but We bring you the truth, and (the) best explanation.

(It is interpreted that Verse 25:33 says “best explanation” in regard to the Qur’an, which is mentioned in the previous Verse (25:32); so, by using explanations, other than the Qur’an, you get that which is worse)(Another point is that, according to Verse 33:66, people are not expecting a revelation other than the Qur’an; they say “Why was the Qur’an not revealed to him all at once?" (25:32); so as if they were only in wait of completing the Qur’an, regardless of other things the Messenger might say)(Allah knows best)

43:43 So hold fast to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you (are) on a Straight Path. 43:44 And indeed, it (is) surely a Reminder for you and your people, and soon you will be questioned.

(Verse 43:43 speaks about holding fast to that which is revealed to him, and it is “a Reminder” (43:44), the Reminder only refers to the Qur’an (80:11, 18:83, 20:113), so that which is revealed to him is the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

10:49 Say, "I do not have power for myself (for) any harm or any profit except what Allah wills. For every nation is a term. When their term comes, then they do not remain behind an hour, nor can they precede."

(He is uncertain about harm or profit; but it is according to what God wills)(Allah knows best)

25:3 Yet they have taken gods besides Him, they create nothing, while they are created, and they do not possess for themselves any harm and nor any benefit, and nor they control death and nor life and nor resurrection.

(Verse 10:49 is similar to Verse 25:3. You cannot take people as gods, because they do not possess for themselves any harm or benefit)(Allah knows best)

2:23 And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed to Our slave, then produce a chapter like it, and call your witnesses other than Allah , if you are truthful.

(Verse 2:23 implicitly says that, that which has been “revealed”, is the Qur’an (it says “produce a “chapter” like it”))(Allah knows best)

110:1 When the Help of Allah and the Victory comes, 110:2 And you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes.

(“You see” is masculine singular”, it might refer to Muhammad, who saw the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes. When Muhammad died in this world, a very big part of the Arabian Peninsula had already converted to Islam, but still another big part remained non-Muslim, so there were many Arabic speaker at the time of the Prophet, and after him, who opposed Islam, so you cannot fully trust any information other than the Qur'an)(Allah knows best)

68:2 You are not, by the Grace of your Lord, a madman. 68:3 And indeed, for you surely is an endless reward. 68:4 And indeed, you surely are of a great moral character. 68:5 So you will see, and they will see, 68:6 Which of you is the afflicted one. 68:7 Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of (he) who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of the guided ones.

(This Verse suggests that he might had been called “madman” and “afflicted one” during his lifetime, in this world; so many people opposed him. As a matter of probability, many of his sayings might be rumors and defamation, rather than his authentic sayings)(Allah knows best)

34:38 And those who strive against Our Verses (to) cause failure, those (will be) brought into the punishment. … 34:40 34:41

(It is said that Sufism started at the time of the Prophet as if it were a proof that Sufism is correct, while we are called “Muslims” (submitted (to God)) in the Qu’ran, and while the word “Sufi” is an innovation, and it means “one who wears wool”. It is a fact that some Sufi groups mix Islam and Hinduism. For example, they think that God is all or everything, but that’s shirk (idolatry / polytheism). “Everything” will be destroyed (28:88). God is not “everything” (He is not His creation). God is Eternal (112:2), the Ever-Living, the One Who does not die (25:58), while “things” will die/be destroyed)(“Sufism” is also defined as the so-called “Islamic mysticism”; “mysticism” is defined in the Oxford dictionary as “belief that union with or absorption into the deity or the absolute”; according to this definition, mysticism implies shirk (idolatry / polytheism), which is forbidden in Islam. Some people use/d Sufism as a way to practice Hinduism in Muslim countries or communities without being persecuted, so some Sufis use parables and symbolic words so that “shirk” is not that evident among people (e.g. some Sufis say that they are drops of the ocean, while ocean is referring to God, so as if mankind were deities or God). Such Sufi beliefs are a branch of Hinduism, not a branch of Islam; in Islam there are no branches, but is one religion (21:92))(Some stories might oppose Islam, while the reader think that the narrator is saying something good (e.g. the story of disbelievers watching the naked body of a Prophet in order to prove that they were wrong by thinking that the Prophet had not high physical qualities, while, whether showing the body on purpose or unintentionally, is not a good example for proving disbelievers wrong, but the Qur’an tells about leaving them in their discourse (6:112, 6:91, 6:110, 6:137, 43:83, 70:42, 4:140), rather than showing your private parts. The Prophets are an example to the people, so they were modest people, and the stories in the Qur’an are lesson for people (12:111). That story in the hadith does not seem a good example for dealing with disbelievers. As a result, many Sunnis themselves do not believe in that hadith, and many non-Muslims use that story against Islam)(Allah knows best)

2:79 So woe to those who write the book with their hands, then they say, "This is from Allah," to exchange it for a little price. So woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn.

(Writing a book and saying that it is from God, was also done at the time of the Prophet, so the Verse warns about it)(Allah knows best)

16:35 And said those who associate partners (with Allah), "If Allah (had) willed, neither we nor our forefathers (would) have worshiped anything other than Him, and nor we (would) have forbidden anything other than Him." Thus did those who (were) before them. Then is (there) on the messengers except the clear conveyance?

13:1 Alif Laam Mim Ra. These (are) the Verses (of) the Book. And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord (is) the truth, but most (of) the mankind (do) not believe.

(Verse 13:1 does not mention the hadith, in order to be a believer, but the Verse suggests that those who do not believe in the Verses of the Qur’an are disbelievers)(Allah knows best)

9:6 And if anyone of the polytheists seek your protection then grant him protection until he hears the Words of Allah. Then escort him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know.

(Verse 9:6 is addressed to one person (i.e. the Prophet), and tells about hearing the Words of God; Verse 18:27 suggests that the Words of Allah may refer to the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

29:27 And We gave to him Isaac and Jacob and We placed in his descendants Prophethood and the Book. And We gave him his reward in the world. And indeed, he is in the Hereafter, surely, among the righteous.

(“Prophet” / “Prophethood” implies a Book (e.g. Torah, Gospel, Qur’an), while a Messenger confirms it; so a Messenger’s duty is not bringing a new book (e.g. book of hadith), but only the Book revealed by God is to be inherited (7:169))(See the link below “Is there any difference between a Messenger and a Prophet?”)(Allah knows best)

56:10 And the foremost are the foremost, 56:11 Those are the ones nearest. 56:12 In Gardens of Pleasure, 56:13 A company of the former (l-awalina), 56:14 And a few of the later,

(Verse 56:13 says the word “l-awalina” (the former); in that sense, the Qur’an says “the first (awwala) of the believers” (26:51); which is interpreted as those who lived at the time of the Prophets, because “first” is in the context of those who witnessed a specific sign. On the other hand, the last (later) ones would be Muslims / Believers who did not witness it, but believe in it as well. According to Verse 56:14, in regard to the “foremost”, there will be “a few of the later”, as if there were something “later” that might prevent people from being among the foremost. The former had a Prophet with them, so they could ask him about anything, while the later ones, despite they have the hadith with them, only a few are the foremost)(Almost all Muslims believe in the hadith. So, world population is higher than before, and there are millions and millions of Muslims after the Prophet, but there are only “a few of the later” among the foremost (aka “first in rank”))(Allah knows best)

61:6 And when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."

(“Ahmad / Muhammad” occurs 5 times in the Qur’an, in Verses 61:6, 3:144, 33:40, 47:2 and 48:29. On the other hand, the root “shin ra ‘ayn” (to ordain) also occurs 5 times in the Qur’an, in Verses 42:13, 42:21, 7:163, 5:48 and 45:18)(It does not imply that the Messenger made rules. In the Qur’an, words occurring the same number of times can imply connection or contrast. See the articles “Contrast words in the Qur’an”, “Similar words in the Qur’an” and “Connected Words in the Qur’an”, in the link below “The Qur’an and Mathematics”)(Allah knows best)

4:34 Men are protectors of the women because Allah (has) bestowed some of them over others and because they spend from their wealth. So the righteous women are obedient, guarding in the unseen that which Allah (orders) them to guard. And those (from) whom you fear their ill-conduct, then advise them (fa’izuhunna), and forsake them in bed, and set forth them. Then if they obey you, then do not seek a way against them. Indeed, Allah is Most High, Most Great. … 4:46 Among the Jews are those who distort words from their places and they say, "We hear and disobey" and "Hear but be not heard” and "Raina", twisting their tongues (bi-alsinatihim) and defaming the religion. And if they had said, "We hear and obey" and "Hear and look at us”, it would surely have been better for them and more suitable. [And] but Allah cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.

(The root “waw ‘ayn za” (instruct / advise / preach) occurs 25 times in the Qur’an. And the root “lam sin nun” (tongue) occurs 25 times in the Qur’an)(This could suggest that “instructing / advising / preaching” is not to be written, but is/was oral (using the tongue))(Allah knows best)

6:48 And We (do) not send the Messengers except (as) bearer of glad tidings and (as) warners. So whoever believed and reformed, then no fear upon them [and] nor will they grieve.

11:12 Then you (may) possibly give up a part (of) what is revealed to you, and your breast (is) straitened by it because they say, "Why a treasure is not sent down for him or an Angel has come with him?" You (are) only a warner. And Allah (is) a Guardian on everything. 11:13 Or they say, "He has fabricated it." Say, "Then bring ten Surahs like it that have been fabricated, and call whoever you can besides Allah if you are truthful."

(“What is revealed to you” (11:12), according to the context, refers to the Qur’an, because Verse 11:13 mentions “Surahs / Chapters” in regard to what is revealed. In addition, Verse 11:12 says “give up a part”, which implies that if you give up a part of the Qur’an, you are giving up a part of that which is revealed)(On the other hand, revelations other than the Scriptures (e.g. Torah, Gospel, Qur’an) are not mentioned in any Verse as books. That which is mentioned in the Book, is mentioned in order to be remembered)(Allah knows best)

9:37 Indeed, the postponing is an increase in disbelief by which are led astray those who disbelieve. They make it lawful one year and make it unlawful (another) year, to adjust the number which Allah has made unlawful and making lawful what Allah has made unlawful. The evil of their deeds is made fair-seeming to them. And Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.

(An information contradicting the Qur’an might be made fair-seeming to people)(Allah knows best)

9:30 And the Jews said, "Uzair is son of Allah." And the Christians said, "Messiah is son of Allah." That is their saying with their mouths, they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before. (May) Allah destroy them. How deluded are they.

(Those who are deluded by people suffer the consequences, so they have no excuse)(Allah knows best)

24:46 Verily, We have sent down clear Verses. And Allah guides whom He wills to a straight path. 24:47 And they say, "We have believed in Allah and in the Messenger, and we obey"; then a party of them turns away after that. And those are not believers. 24:48 And when they are called to Allah and His Messenger, to judge between them, behold, a party of them (is) averse.

(Verse 24:48 says, “when they are called to Allah and His Messenger, to judge between them”. So, it suggests that the Messenger judges with the Qur’an, because they are also called to Allah, to judge between them. And, in addition, a previous Verse mentions “Verses” of the Qur’an: “We have sent down clear Verses” (24:46), and another previous Verse is in the context of obeying, “We have believed in Allah and in the Messenger, and we obey” (24:47))(Allah knows best)

25:1 Blessed is He Who sent down the Criterion upon His slave that he may be a warner to the worlds -

(“Criterion” refers to the Qur’an, it is confirmed by Verse 2:185, “The month of Ramadhan is that in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs of guidance and criterion”)(So, according to Verse 25:1, the Prophet warns with the Qur’an (“… the Criterion upon His slave that he may be a warner …” (25:1). And he is only a warner (11:12, 13:7, 38:65))(Allah knows best)

9:43 (May) Allah forgive you, why (did) you grant [to] them leave until (became) evident to you those who were truthful, and you knew the liars?

(It is interpreted that the liars, who invented false excuses to stay behind, should have remained behind without getting an exemption from the Prophet, so the disbelievers would have been exposed. The Prophet did not fail in his duty of being a warner (warning with the Qur’an). On the other hand, he might say or do something which requires forgiveness (9:43), then it suggests that certain matters might not be followed or collected as a hadith in order to be followed. Some hadith are observations (e.g. I heard the Messenger say”, “I saw the Messenger...”), rather than direct orders to the believers in order to be followed. This interpretation is confirmed by Verse 7:188, It says, “I have no power for myself to benefit and nor harm, except what Allah wills. And if I would know of the unseen, surely I could have multiplied of the good and no evil would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bearer of good tidings to a people who believe”)(Allah knows best)

24:62 The believers (are) only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, and when they are with him for a matter (of) collective action, [they] (do) not go until they (have) asked his permission. Indeed, those who ask your permission, those [those] (are the ones) who believe in Allah and His Messenger. So when they ask your permission for some affair of theirs/(their affair), then give permission to whom you will among them, and ask for them forgiveness (of) Allah/(Allah’s forgiveness). Indeed, Allah (is) Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 24:63 (Do) not make (the) calling (of) the Messenger among you(rselves) as (the) call (of) some of you (to) others. Verily, Allah knows those who slip away among you under shelter. So let those beware who oppose his orders lest befalls them a trial or befalls them a painful punishment.

(If it is not evident that they are lying, then the Messenger can give permission to whom he wills among them. You cannot disobey the Messenger in the matter of giving you or denying permission. That’s a judgment, rather than making new rules)(And the sentence “when they are with him” suggest that he is to be obeyed in the Messenger’s lifetime in this world, and it is in the matter of giving or denying permission, and for a matter of collective action)(Allah knows best)

9:107 And those who take a mosque (for) harm and disbelief and division among the believers, and as a station for whoever warred against Allah and His Messenger before. And they will surely swear, "we wish only the good." And Allah bears witness that indeed they are liars.

(All Muslims have to be united. According to Verse 42:13, “not to be divided” is difficult for the polytheists. Obeying people implies polytheism (6:121, 30:31-32). If someone openly speaks in a Mosque, against other Muslims (Sunnis vs. Shias vs. etc.), you do not have to support such a speech)(Verse 28:87 says, “And (let) not avert you from (the) Verses (of) Allah after they have been revealed to you. And invite to your Lord. And do not be of the polytheists.”. So, the Verse suggests that you have to invite to your Lord, if a party differs from the Verses of Allah, in addition it says “And do not be of the polytheists”, so other than the Verses (e.g. obeying people) would imply polytheism)(Allah knows best)

60:12 O Prophet, when the believing women come to you pledging to you [on] that they will not associate anything with Allah, and not/(nor) will they steal, and not/(nor) will they commit adultery, and not/(nor) will they kill their children, and not/(nor will) they bring (forth) slander they invent [it] between their hands and their feet, and not/(nor) will they disobey you in (the/what is) right (ma’rufin), then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them (from) Allah. Indeed, Allah (is) Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(The word “ma’rufin” (right) also implies discerning, recognizing, knowledge of right and wrong. So, it implies knowing if a certain deed is good or bad, rather than making new rules)(Allah knows best)

4:165 Messengers (are) bearers of glad tidings and warners, so that [for the] mankind there is not/(will have no) [any] argument against Allah after the Messengers. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

38:70 (It) has not been revealed to me except that I am only a clear warner."

17:9 Indeed, this, the Quran, guides to that which (is) most straight and gives glad tidings to the believers - those who do [the] righteous deeds, that for them/(they will have) a great reward,

17:60 And when We said to you, "Indeed, your Lord has encompassed [the] mankind." And We (did) not make the vision (l-ru’ya) which We showed you except (as) a trial for mankind, and/(as was) the accursed [the] tree in the Quran. And We threaten them, but it (does) not increases them except (in) great transgression.

(The word “ru’ya” (vision) refers to seeing with physical eyes. That’s also supported by the context of the Chapter (17:59, 17:1))(Allah knows best)

17:73 And indeed, they were about (to) tempt you away from that which We revealed to you (so) that you invent about Us other (than) it. And then they would surely take you (as) a friend. 17:74 And if [that] We (had) not strengthened you, certainly, you (would) have almost inclined to them a little (in) something. 17:75 Then, We (would) have made you taste double (in) the life, and double (after) [the] death. Then you (would) not have found any helper [for you] against Us. … 17:82 And We reveal from the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.

(Verses 17:73-82 suggest that you cannot invent other than the Qur’an (That which God revealed to him (mentioned in Verse 17:73) is called “the Qur’an” in Verse 17:82))(Allah knows best)

18:1 All Praise (is) for Allah, the One Who (has) revealed the Book to His slave, and (has) not made in it/(therein) any crookedness. … 18:6 Then perhaps you would (be) the one who kills yourself (in) grief over their footsteps, if they (do) not believe in this [the] narration.

20:99 Thus, We relate to you from (the) news (of) what has preceded. And We have certainly given you a Reminder from Us. 20:100 Whoever turns away from it, then indeed, he will bear a burden (on the) Day (of) Resurrection.

(The Verses mention about believing in the Qur’an (18:1-6), and not turning away from it (20:99-100). There is no mention of sources other than that)(Allah knows best)

21:109 But if they turn away then say, "I (have) announced to you equally. And I (do) not know whether what you are promised is near or far. 21:110 Indeed, He knows the declared [of] [the] speech and He knows what you conceal. 21:111 And I (do) not know, perhaps it may be a trial for you, and an enjoyment for a time."

(The Prophet is commanded to say “I (do) not know, perhaps it may be a trial for you”, in regard to declared and concealed speech)(Allah knows best)

26:52 And We inspired (wa-awhayna) [to] Musa/(Moses), [that] "Travel by night with My slaves, indeed, you (will be) followed."

26:63 Then We inspired (fa-awhayna) [to] Musa/(Moses), [that] "Strike the sea with your staff." So it parted and each part became like the/(a) great [the] mountain.

(The root of “awhay” (inspired) is “Waw-Ha-Ya”, and it means “to indicate / reveal / suggest, point out, put a thing into (the mind), inspire, speak secretly, make sign; wahyun: revelation, inspiration, etc.”)(Verses 26:52 and 26:63 confirm that there are revelations other than the Scriptures Themselves. The context is not about making new rules or explaining the Torah. On the other hand, these stories of traveling and striking the sea are explicitly related / confirmed in the Scripture Itself, rather than contradicting it)(Allah knows best)

29:45 Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book, and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prevents from immorality and evil deeds, and surely the remembrance of Allah is greatest. And Allah knows what you do.

(The Messenger recites that which has been revealed to him of the Book)(According to Verse 39:23, the remembrance of Allah refers to the Book)(Allah knows best)

29:46 And do not argue with the People of the Book except by which is best, except those who do wrong among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and to you. And our God and your God is One, and we submit to Him."

(You have to argue with the people by which is best. According to Verse 39:23, the Qur’an is the “best statement”)(Allah knows best)

29:47 And thus We have revealed to you the Book. So those to whom We gave the Book believe in it. And among these are some who believe in it. And none reject Our Verses except the disbelievers. 29:48 And you (did) not recite before it, any Book, and not/(nor) (did) you write it with your right hand, in that case the falsifiers (would) have surely doubted. 29:49 Nay, it is clear Verses within the breasts of those who are given knowledge. And none reject Our Verses except the wrongdoers.

(No mention of sources other than the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

33:36 And (it) is not for a believing man and not/(or) (for) a believing woman, when Allah has decided, and His Messenger, a matter, that (there) should be for them/(they should have) (any) choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, certainly he (has) strayed (into) clear error.

38:20 And We strengthened his kingdom and We gave him [the] wisdom and decisive speech.

38:22 When they entered upon Dawood/(David) and he was afraid of them, they said, "(Do) not fear. (We are) two litigants, one of us has wronged to/(the) another/(other), so judge between us in truth and (do) not be unjust and guide us to an even [the] path.

47:20 And those who believe say, "Why has a Surah/(Chapter) not been revealed?" But when a precise Surah/(Chapter) is revealed and [the] fighting is mentioned in it/(therein), you see those [who] in their/(whose) hearts (is) a disease looking at you (with) a look (of) one fainting from [the] death. But more appropriate for them … 47:24 Then do they not ponder over the Qur’an or are there locks upon (their) hearts?

(Believers expect revelations to be revealed as a Chapter of the Qur’an (47:20), rather than as a “saying”)(Allah knows best)

53:59 Then (do) you wonder of/(at) this statement?

55:1 The Most Gracious 55:2 He taught the Qur’an.

56:77 Indeed, it is surely a Noble Qur’an, 56:81 Then is it to this statement that you (are) indifferent?

58:13 Are you afraid to offer/(of offering) charities before your private consultation? Then when you do not (do it) and Allah has forgiven you, then establish [the] prayer and give [the] zakah/(charity), and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah (is) All-Aware of what you do.

(A private consultation is private, and from the time of the Messenger, because he was the one to be consulted)(The word “private” may imply that consultations should not be disclosed to the public)(Allah knows best)

65:8 And how many of a town rebelled against (the) Command (of) its Lord and His Messengers, so We took it to account - a severe account; and We punished it (with) a terrible punishment. ... 65:11 A Messenger reciting to you (the) clear Verses (of) Allah, (so) that he may bring out those who believe and do righteous deeds from [the] darkness[es] towards/(to) [the] light. And whoever believes in Allah and does righteous deeds, He will admit him (into) Gardens [from] underneath it/(which) [the] rivers flow, abiding therein forever. Indeed, Allah has (granted a) good provision for him.

12:1 Alif Laam Ra. These are the Verses of the clear Book. 12:2 Indeed, We have sent it down as a Qur’an in Arabic so that you may understand. 12:3 We relate to you the best of the narrations in what We have revealed to you of this Qur’an, although you were, before it, surely among the unaware.

(Verse 12:3 suggests that outside/before the Qur’an, he was unaware. And the best of the narrations are in the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

10:94 So if you are in doubt of what We have revealed to you, then ask those who (have been) reading the Book before you. Verily, the truth has come to you from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters.

(Verse 10:94 speaks about a specific matter mentioned in the previous sentences: the story of Moses (10:90-93), which Jews and Christians are familiarized with)(“New” stories other than that which is related in the Qur’an and the Bible could not be confirmed by Jews and Christians)(Allah knows best)

79:42 They ask you about the Hour, when (is) its arrival? 79:43 In what (are) you [of] (to) mention it? 79:44 To your Lord (is) its finality. 79:45 You (are) only a warner (for him) who fears it.

88:21 So remind, you (are) only a reminder. 88:22 You are not a controller over them,

92:12 Indeed, upon Us (is) the guidance. … 92:14 So I warn you (of) a blazing Fire,

94:4 And We raised high for you your reputation

(God raised high the Messenger’s reputation (e.g. by that which is said in the Qur’an, about the Prophet). Many people attribute the hadith to God, so some hadith might be in direct contradiction with Verse 94:4 (Bad reputation, according to non-Muslims, even according to some Sunnis))(Allah knows best)

98:1 Those who disbelieved from (the) People of the Book and the polytheists were not (going) to be abandoned until (there) comes to them [the] clear evidence, 98:2 A Messenger from Allah, reciting purified pages, 98:3 Wherein (are) correct writings. 98:4 And those who were given the Book (did) not become divided until [from] after [the] clear evidence [what] came (to) them.

87:9 So remind, if the reminder benefits. 87:10 He will pay heed - (one) who fears (Allah).

25:41 And when they see you, they take you not except (in) mockery, "Is this the one whom Allah has sent (as) a Messenger?

(This Verse confirms mockery at the time of the Messenger. A narration from the time of the Messenger may not be reliable in itself, just because it is from the time of the Messenger)(Allah knows best)

4:97 Indeed, those whom the Angels take (while) they were wronging themselves - they say, "In what (condition) were you?" They said, "We were oppressed in the earth.” They said, "Was not the earth of Allah spacious (enough) so that you (could) emigrate in it?" Then those (will have) their abode in Hell – and it is an evil destination.

(There is freedom of religion in Islam, whether you consider that you are obeying the Messenger by following the hadith, or you consider that you are going astray by following other than the Qur’an, you cannot be oppressed by Muslims, or by non-Muslims (16:90))(Oppression is forbidden (16:90, 7:33, 2:191, 4:3))(Allah knows best)

13:1 Alif Laam Mim Ra. These (are) the Verses (of) the Book. And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord (is) the truth, but most (of) the mankind (do) not believe. ... 13:30 Thus We have sent you to a nation before which verily nations have passed away, so that you might recite to them what We revealed to you, while they disbelieve in the Most Gracious. Say, "He (is) my Lord, (there is) no god except Him. Upon Him I put my trust and to Him (is) my return." 13:31 And if there was any Qur’an by which mountains could be moved, or the earth could be cloven asunder, or the dead could be made to speak. Nay, with Allah is all the command. Then do not those who believe know that if Allah had willed, surely He would have guided all of the mankind? And those who disbelieve will not cease to be struck for what they did, by a disaster, or it settles close to their homes until comes the Promise of Allah. Indeed, Allah (will) not fail in the Promise. … 13:33 Is then He Who (is) a Maintainer of every soul [for] what it has earned? Yet they ascribe partners to Allah. Say, "Name them. Or (do) you inform Him of what/(that which) He (does) not know in the earth or of the/(what is) apparent of the words?" Nay, to those who disbelieve, their plotting (is) made fair-seeming, and they are hindered from the Path. And whoever Allah lets go astray, then for him (there is) not/(no) [any] guide. ... 13:36 And those to whom We have given them the Book, rejoice at what has been revealed to you, but among the groups (are those) who deny a part of it. Say, "I have only been commanded to worship Allah, and not associate partners with Him. To Him I call, and to Him is my return." 13:37 And thus We have revealed it (to be) a judgment of authority (in) Arabic. And if you (were to) follow their desires after what came/(has come) to you of the knowledge, not for you/(you would not have) against Allah any protector and not/(or any) defender.

7:67 He said, "O my people, there is no foolishness in me but I am a Messenger from the Lord of the worlds. ... 7:70 They said, "Have you come to us that we (should) worship Allah Alone and [we] forsake what our forefathers used to worship? Then bring (to) us [of] what you promise us, if you are [of the] truthful." 7:71 He said, "Verily, punishment and anger have fallen upon you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me concerning names which you have named - you and your forefathers, for which Allah has not sent down any authority? Then wait, indeed, I am with you of those who wait. 7:72 So We saved him and those with him by Mercy from Us. And We cut off the roots of those who denied Our Signs, and they were not believers.

(Notice that the Messenger came to them with the message “worship Allah Alone”, but they worship “names” named by themselves. Obeying people (in that which differs from the Qur’an) implies worshiping people)(Allah knows best)

6:118 So eat of that on which the name of Allah is mentioned, if you are believers in His Verses.

19:12 "O John, take the Scripture with strength." And We gave him judgment (as) a child

51:55 And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.

(“Reminder” may refer to the Qur’an (7:2, 15:9, 20:2-3, 36:69, 80:11))(Allah knows best)

25:27 And the Day the wrongdoer will bite his hands, he will say, "O I wish, I had taken with the Messenger a way. 25:28 O woe to me, I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. 25:29 Verily, he led me astray from the Reminder after it (had) come to me. And is Satan, to man, a deserter."

(Verse 25:27 says about the wrongdoer, “O I wish, I had taken with the Messenger a way”, then Verse 25:29 says about the wrongdoer that a friend “led me astray from the Reminder”)(It implicitly suggests that the way with the Messenger is according to the Reminder, lest “people” let you astray from it)(Allah knows best)

2:252 These are the Verses of Allah, We recite them to you in truth. And indeed, you are surely of the Messengers.

68:44 So/(then) leave Me and whoever denies this Statement, We will progressively lead them from where they (do) not know.

4:116 Indeed, Allah does not forgive to associate partners with Him, but He forgives other than that for whom He wills. And whoever associates partners with Allah, then surely he lost the way, straying far away.

30:58 And verily, We (have) set forth for mankind in this Qur’an every (kulli) example. But if you bring to them a sign, surely those who disbelieve will say, "You are not except falsifiers."

(The word “kulli” (every) also means “all”, so in the Qur’an there is “all” example)(Allah knows best)

34:46 Say, "I only advise you for/(to) one (thing), that you stand for Allah (in) pairs and (as) individuals, then reflect." (There is) not/(no) [any] madness (in) your companion. He (is) not except a warner for/(to) you before a severe punishment."

53:23 They are not except names which you have named, you and your forefathers, for which Allah has not sent down any authority. They do not follow except assumption and what their souls desire. And certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord.

(According to Verse 53:23, God is the One Who sends down authority, lest you follow people’s assumptions, and what their souls desire. And “guidance” (which might refer to the Scriptures) has come to them from God)(Allah knows best)

57:19 And those who believe in Allah and His Messengers, they (are) the truthful, and the martyrs (are) with their Lord. For them (is) their reward and their light. But those who disbelieve and deny Our Verses, those (are the) companions (of) the Hellfire. ... 57:21 Race towards the forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden whose width is like the width of the heaven and the earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His Messengers. That is the Bounty of Allah, He gives it to whom He wills. And Allah is the Possessor of Great Bounty.

(Verses 57:19 and 57:21 mention “those who believe in Allah and His Messengers”, for them is their reward and their light, then it mentions “but those who disbelieve and deny Our Verses”. It is interpreted that “Our Verses” are the Scriptures)(Allah knows best)

35:31 And (that) which We have revealed to you of the Book, it (is) the truth confirming what/(that which) (was) before it. Indeed, Allah (is) surely All-Aware, All-Seer of His slaves. 35:32 Then We caused to inherit the Book those We have chosen of Our slaves; and among them (is he) who wrongs himself, and among them (is he who is) moderate, and among them (is he who is) foremost in good deeds by Allah’s permission. That is the great Bounty.

(Scriptures confirm the previous ones. And the Books are inherited. These Verses do not mention “sayings” to be inherited)(Allah knows best)

76:23 Indeed, We revealed to you the Qur’an progressively. 76:24 So be patient for (the) Command (of) your Lord and (do) not obey any sinner or disbeliever from (among) them.

(Verses 76:23-24 suggest that the Qur’an was revealed to Muhammad, and it contains the Command, and “do not obey” what opposes the Command)(Allah knows best)

3:99 Say, "O People of the Book, why do you hinder those who believe from the way of Allah, seeking to make it (seem) crooked, while you are witnesses? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

(Christians and Jews, at the time of the Prophet, falsely invented about the religion (3:99))(Allah knows best)

33:46 And as one who invites to Allah by His permission, and (as) an illuminating lamp.

(The Book is called “Enlightening Book” (3:184), you may illuminate by reciting it)(Allah knows best)

3:23 Have you not seen [to] those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to (the) Book (of) Allah that (it should) arbitrate between them, then a party of them turns away and they (are) those who are averse.

(The Prophet judges / arbitrates among people with the Scripture (3:23, 4:105))(Allah knows best)

2:165 And among [the] mankind (are) who take[s] [from] besides Allah (as) equals. They love them as (they should) love Allah. And/(But) those who believe[d] (are) stronger (in) love for Allah. And if those who wronged would/(could) see, when they will see the punishment, that all the power (belongs) to Allah and [that] Allah (is) severe (in) [the] punishment.

(People took the hadith and Qur’an as equals in status)(Allah knows best)

21:8 And We did not make them bodies not eating food, nor were they immortals.

(What does “Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Hadith Number 6” have to do with worshiping God? (It contains alleged sexual matters about the Prophet). It is useless, irrelevant, and maybe even sinful to say it. They were conjecturing or digging in his private life)(Allah knows best)

24:2 The adulteress/fornicatress and the adulterer/fornicator, flog each of them with hundred lashes. And (let) not withhold you pity for them concerning the religion of Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a group of the believers witness their punishment.

(The punishment of adultery is one hundred lashes (24:2), but “Sahih Muslim Book 17, Hadith Number 4192” says that, after one hundred lashes, in addition “stoning (to death)” for married persons, and “exile for one year” to unmarried persons)(The Qur’an does not support that the Prophet made new rules. So, in such hadith, “someone” invented new rules, other that what the Qur’an says, as if Verse 24:2 were incomplete or unfinished, or as if you were not able to obey God, using the Qur’an, unless such hadith was revealed. But the Qur’an is Guidance and “Mercy”, while Hadith is “exceeding”. Verse 5:77 says, “do not exceed in your religion other than the truth, and do not follow the desires of a people who certainly went astray before, and they misled many, and they have strayed from the right way”)(Allah knows best)

38:18 Indeed, We subjected the mountains, with him, glorifying in the evening and (at) sunrise.

(According to “Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 26, Hadith Number 695”, someone said “heard the Prophet forbidding the offering of prayers at the time of sunrise and sunset”. While, Verse 17:78 says, “ Establish the prayer at the decline (liduluki) (of) the sun till/to (ila) (the) darkness (of) the night and Qur’an at dawn, indeed, the Qur’an (at) the dawn is ever witnessed”. This Verse is allowing prayer at sunrise and sunset. In addition, in Verse 38:18, there is no objection on glorifying at sunrise, and Verse 11:114 says, “establish the prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night”)(Allah knows best)

4:43 O you who believe, (do) not go near the prayer while you (are) intoxicated until you know what you are saying and not (when you are) impure, except (when) passing (through) a way, until you have bathed. And if you are ill or on a journey or one of you came from the toilet, or you have touched the women and you (do) not find water, then do tayammum (with) clean earth and wipe (over) your faces and your hands. Indeed, Allah is Oft-Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving.

(According to “Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Hadith Number 93” the Verse regarding Tayammum was revealed right after some companions complained to the Prophet that because they were sent by the Prophet in search of a necklace, then, because of this, in the stated time for prayer, they had to offer prayer without ablution, while Verse 4:43 is clear that you do tayammum if you are ill or on a journey or one of you came from the toilet, or you have touched the women and you do not find water. So, it does not mention that you do it when you are searching something)(Allah knows best)

4:98 Except the oppressed among the men and the women and the children who are not able to plan [and] nor are they directed (to) a way.

(“Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Hadith Number 64” is in direct contradiction with the Qur’an. Islam does not support pedophilia or child marriages. There is no such hadith among Shiites, and many Sunnis do not believe in such hadith. See the link below, “Does Islam support pedophilia or child marriages? Did Prophet Muhammad marry a 6 year old?”)(Allah knows best)

9:71 And the believing men and the believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and they establish prayer and give zakah, and they obey Allah and His Messenger. Those, Allah will have mercy on them. Indeed, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. 98:7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds, those [they] (are the) best (of) [the] creatures.

(The best creatures are those who believe and do righteous deeds (98:7). But, according to “Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Hadith Number 19”, someone said that “the best women are the riders of the camels”. What is the purpose of this hadith? Riding of the camels is a righteous deed, or you obey the Messenger by doing it? There was a divine purpose of collecting this hadith, follow it and attribute it to the Prophet? That’s obviously not a criterion for evaluating women at all. If we check information about the narrator of this hadith, Abu Hurayra, we read that Caliph Umar bin Khattab is recorded to repeatedly threaten Abu Hurayrah, noted at the time as a blatant self-promoter, with serious consequences due to his frequent misquote of the Prophet’s words” (Source: Saeed, Abdullah (2013) “Reading the Qur’an in the Twenty-First Century: A Contextualist Approach”)(Allah knows best)

24:33 And let those who do not find marriage be chaste/refrain until Allah enriches them of His Bounty. And those who seek the writing from among whom your right hands possess, give them the writing if you know any good in them, and give them from the wealth of Allah, which He has given you. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, to seek temporary gain of the life of the world. And whoever compels them, then indeed, Allah is, after their compulsion, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(According to “Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Hadith Number 52”, “Mut’a (temporary marriage) was allowed, while it is in direct contradiction with the Qur’an, because prostitution is not allowed in Islam (24:33). The obligation of having the permission of the family to get married is also against prostitution (4:25)(rather than just if a man and a woman agree (stated by the hadith). Another point against such hadith is that you have to know about her (that she is a good woman), ”give them the writing if you know any good in them” (24:33). And the hadith states that “their marriage should last for three nights”, while the Qur’an does not encourage divorce (4:128), but in case of divorce, there is a waiting period, and you cannot expel them from their houses (65:1). Secret lovers are forbidden (4:25))(Allah knows best)

7:187 They ask you about the Hour, when will be its appointed time? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None can reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come to you but suddenly." They ask you as if you were well informed about it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know." 7:188 Say, "I have no power for myself to benefit and nor harm, except what Allah wills. And if I would know of the unseen, surely I could have multiplied of the good and no evil would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bearer of good tidings to a people who believe."

(The Prophet says that he does not know of the unseen (7:188), but in “Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Book 78, Hadith Number 654” someone narrated about God doing something in Hell, while Verse 4:171 says “Do not say about Allah except the truth”. And “Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith Number 349” says that God would laugh at a human, while it might be in direct contradiction with Verses 21:16-17)(Other allegedly false, irrelevant or useless hadith, which might contradict the Qur’an or themself: “Sahih Muslim, Book 23, Number 5017” (“do not drink while standing up”), “Sahih Bukhari, Vol 3, Book 43, Number 651” (“messenger urinated while standing”), “Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol 1, Book 1, Number 308” (“do not urinate standing up”), “Sahih Muslim, Book 40, Number 6809” (“God created Adam in His own image” (while the Qur’an says, “nor is there to Him any equivalent” (112:4)), “Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Number 1032” (“a prayer is void if an ass, woman or black dog passes in front of the one praying” (while superstition is forbidden in Islam (4:51)), “Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 30” (“bad omen is in the woman, the horse and the home” (while superstition is forbidden in Islam (4:51), and bad omen is with Allah (27:47)), “Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 55, Number 608” (“no one should say that I am better than Younus (Jonah) Ibn Matta” (while according to other hadith, Muhammad is more superior to all the other Prophets and human beings, but the Qur’an says “We make no distinction between any of His Messengers” (2:285))(Allah knows best)

(The purpose of this article is to, objectively and impartially, know if the Qur’an supports the hadith. We know that hadith supports hadiths, and also, even a hadith does not support other hadiths. Muslims are commanded to be united, the different opinions about the hadith is not an excuse to become a sect or fighting each other, which would only benefit the enemies of Islam, who attack Muslims. The Qur’an does not say that those who do not believe in the hadith are disbelievers or apostates, sentenced to death, but, on the contrary, there is freedom of religion. According to the Qur’an fighting is in self-defense and against oppression. Those who force the religion might become oppressors. And if a hadith were wrong, following “people” is polytheism (6:121))(Allah knows best)
