Is the crescent moon a symbol of Islam?
6:96 (He is the) Cleaver of the daybreak and He (has) made the night for rest and the sun and the moon for reckoning. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.
(The moon is not a symbol of Islam, and such use is not confirmed in the Qur’an. It is said that the early Muslim community did not have a symbol, and that they had simple solid-colored flags (generally black, green, or white) with no markings, writing, or symbolism on it. And it was used for identification purposes)(Allah knows best)
10:5 He is the One Who made the sun a shining light, and the moon a (reflected) light and determined for it phases, that you may know the number of years and the count (of time). Allah has not created that except in truth. He explains the Signs for a people who know.
41:37 And of His Signs are the night and the day and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun and nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah , Who created them, if it should be Him alone that you worship.
(Some Christians discuss about the moon to discredit Islam, as if Muslims were to worship the moon, but Muslims do not worship the moon, and it is explicitly forbidden in Verse 41:37. And some Christians say that Muslims worship Baal, or a moon god, or wrongly say that Allah is Baal, while such a claim is denied in Verses 37:125-126)(“Allah” and “ilah” in the Qur’an use the same Semitic root word than “eloah”, “elah”, “el” and “elohim” in the Bible)(Christians are the pagan ones, because they worship the creation (Jesus), and some of them worship carved images made by themselves, while the Bible, in Exodus 20:4, says “you shall not make for yourself a carved image”)(Allah knows best)
37:125 Do you call upon Baal and leave the best of creators – 37:126 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?"
