Do ants talk?

27:15 And verily, We gave David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise be to Allah the One Who has favored us over many of His believing servants." 27:16 And Solomon inherited David. And he said, "O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from everything. Indeed, this is surely an evident favor." 27:17 And were gathered for Solomon his hosts of jinn and men and birds, and they were set in rows. 27:18 Until, when they came to the valley of the ants, an ant said (qalat), "O ants, enter your dwellings so that Solomon and his hosts (may) not crush you while they do not perceive." 27:19 So he smiled, laughing at her speech, and said, "My Lord, grant me the power that I may thank You for Your Favor, which You have bestowed on me and on my parents and that I may do righteous (deeds), that will please You. And admit me by Your Mercy into Your righteous slaves."

(God made it as a favor to Solomon (27:15), over other people. The disbelievers wonder about the story of the ants, because it was an uncommon event, but God is All-Powerful over all “things” (57:2); and God created everything while everything was nothing before. So, everything is impossible, unless God permits it (34:12), whether the disbelievers find a certain event common or uncommon. Similarly, in Verses 36:65 and 41:21, everything is made to speak. The One Who created everything is Able to make everything speak)(Other messengers came with evidences, to be obeyed (3:50))(Notice that the Qur’an uses the word “qalat / said” (27:18) for females, instead of “qala” for males. All male ants have wings and it’s unlikely to see a male ant except on a special day. While all worker ants and wingless ants are females. So the option for female ants was to hide underground. 6:53 And thus We try some of them with others that they say, "Are these (whom) Allah has favored among us?" Is not Allah most knowing of those who are grateful?

34:12 And to Solomon, the wind - its morning course was that of a month and its afternoon course was that of a month, and We caused to flow a spring of molten copper for him. And among the jinn were those who worked for him by the permission of his Lord. And whoever deviated among them from Our Command, We will make him taste the punishment of the Blaze.

(Body parts or ants speaking could be as surprising or “impossible” as a human speaking with his mouth, because a human is made of water and dust. So, similarly, a human was a piece of lifeless “earth” who was made to live and speak, after being “nothing”)(Some disbelievers may think that the body is intelligent enough to witness the environment in order to evolve, then it should not be that surprising a body witnessing itself, which could seem easier (“their feet will bear witness” (36:65))(E.g. The flowers of some plant species track the sun across the sky from east to west, so something without a brain can be a witness of something, and can also speak about that which witnessed if God wills)(Another example, trees have no brain, but the ecologist Suzanne Simard discovered that trees communicate their needs and send each other nutrients via a network of latticed fungi in the soil, in other words, she found, they “talk” to each other. So, another interpretation of the Verses is that Solomon understood a non-human speech, so that the birds or ants did not talk the way humans do, but their own way, and Solomon understood or was made to understand it. This interpretation might be confirmed by Verse 17:44, “there is not a thing except glorifies His Praise, but you do not understand their glorification”. So, everything glorifies, including birds, but people do not understand their glorification. Verse 24:41 confirms that birds glorify: “Do you not see that Allah is glorified by whoever is in the heavens and the earth and the birds with wings outspread? Each one verily knows its prayer and its glorification”)(Allah knows best)

41:21 And they will say to their skins, "Why do you testify against us?" They will say, "Allah made us speak, the One Who makes everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you will be returned." 41:22 And you were not covering yourselves lest your hearing, and your sight, and your skins (should) testify against you, but you assumed that Allah does not know much of what you do. 41:23 And that was your assumption, which you assumed about your Lord. It has ruined you, and you have become of the losers.

14:11 Their Messengers said to them, "We are not but human like you, but Allah bestows His Grace on whom He wills of His slaves. And it is not for us that we bring you an authority except by the permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers put their trust.

19:9 He said, "Thus, your Lord said, 'It is easy for Me, and certainly I have created you before, while you were nothing.'"

3:189 And to Allah (is the) dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is All-Powerful over everything.

(God is All-Powerful over all things (57:2, 3:189); and God created everything while everything was nothing before (19:9), so God can make ants speak. Everything is impossible, unless God permits it)(Allah knows best)

6:37 And they said, "Why (is) not a Sign sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "Indeed, Allah (is) Able to send down a Sign, but most of them (do) not know."

19:10 He said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights, sound."

3:41 He said, "My Lord make for me a sign." He said, your sign is that you will not speak with people for three days except with gestures. And remember your Lord much, and glorify in the evening and in the morning."

3:50 And confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and so that I make lawful for you some of that which was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me.

13:38 And certainly, We sent Messengers before you and We made for them wives and offspring. And it was not for a Messenger to come with a sign except by the leave of Allah. For everything is a time prescribed.

17:101 And We had certainly given Moses nine clear Signs, so ask the Children of Israel when he came to them, then Pharaoh said to him, "O Moses, indeed, I think you are bewitched." 17:102 He said, "Verily, you know none has sent down these except the Lord of the heavens and the earth as evidence, and indeed, O Pharaoh, I surely think you are destroyed."

27:38 He said, "O chiefs, which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?" 27:39 A strong one of the jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place. And indeed, I am surely strong and trustworthy for it."

12:111 Verily, in their stories is a lesson for men of understanding. It is not an invented narration, but a confirmation of that which was before it and a detailed explanation of all things, and a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.

3:44 That is from the news of the unseen - We reveal it to you. And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them takes charge of Mary; nor were you with them when they were disputing.

25:5 And they say, "Tales of the former people which he has had written down, and they are dictated to him morning and evening." 25:6 Say, "He has sent it down, the One Who knows the secret in the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

18:105 Those are the ones who disbelieve in the Verses of their Lord, and in the meeting (with) Him. So their deeds are in vain, so We will not assign to them any weight on the Day of Resurrection. 18:106 That is their recompense - Hell - because they disbelieved, and took My Verses and My Messengers in ridicule.

(Some people said that humans started to develop speech around 100,000 years ago. Even if that was how it happened - “time”, “chaos” or “nature” are unable to do anything. God is the One Able to make everything speak, whether instantly or after a time)(Allah knows best)

41:11 Then He directed towards the heaven while it was smoke, and He said to it and to the earth, "Come both of you willingly or unwillingly." They both said, "We come willingly."

(Another example about each thing speaking in their own way: the heaven “said” is interpreted as the heaven having a voice. Voice means it emitted a sound wave (not a gravitational wave nor an electromagnetic wave). So, heaven gave a sound wave that lasted 380,000 years.
