What is the origin of calamity? Does evil come from Allah?
38:41 And remember Our slave Job, when he called to his Lord, "That, Satan has touched me with distress and suffering."
4:78 Wherever you (may) be, death will overtake you even if you are in lofty towers. And if any good befalls them, they say, "This is from Allah," And if any evil befalls them, they say, "This is from you." Say, "All is from Allah." So what (is wrong) (with) these people, they do not seem to understand any statement. 4:79 What(ever) good befalls you is from Allah, and whatever evil befalls you is from yourself. And We have sent you for the people as a Messenger, and Allah is sufficient as a Witness.
(Everything happens by Allah’s permission (58:10), that’s why “all is from Allah” (4:78). On the other hand, evil befalls people because of themselves (4:79)(e.g. they follow the footsteps of Satan (2:168)). Another point is that people is tested with bad (21:35, 2:155). See the link below: “How do you know if you are being tested or punished?”)(The Verses of the Qur’an are not mutually exclusive but complement each other)(Allah knows best)
14:22 And Satan will say, when the matter has been decided, "Indeed, Allah promised you a promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no any authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me, but blame yourselves. I (can)not be your helper, nor (can) you be my helper. Indeed, I deny your association of me before. Indeed, the wrongdoers, for them is a painful punishment."
2:155 And surely We will test you with something of fear, and hunger, and loss of wealth, and lives and fruits, but give good news to the patient ones.
9:51 Say, "Never will befall us except what Allah has decreed for us, He is our Protector." And on Allah let the believers put (their) trust.
13:11 For him are successive before and behind him who protect him by the Command of Allah. Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah intends for a people misfortune, there is no turning away of it. And there is not for them besides Him any protector.
(Someone’s condition can be changed, this confirms that jinn and men were created to willingly worship God. There is a prediction of filling Hell because there is free will; if there were no free will, there would not be hell, because mankind could not be blamed. But there is free will, so many people wrong themselves)(Allah knows best)
64:11 No disaster strikes except by the permission of Allah. And whoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart. And Allah is All-Knowing of everything.
22:53 That He may make that which Satan throws a trial for those in whose hearts is a disease, and those whose hearts are hardened. And indeed, the wrongdoers are surely in a schism far.
(God makes that which Satan throws a trial for bad people. So, God permits it to happen, but Satan is the one who throws it)(Allah knows best)
41:29 And those who disbelieve (will) say, "Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the jinn and men, (so) we may put them under our feet, that they be of the lowest."
(Those jinn and men who follow Satan (2:168, 2:208) may mislead and be an enemy to the people as well)(Allah knows best)
113:1 Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn, 113:2 From the evil of what He created,
22:10 That is for what your hands have sent forth, and that Allah is not unjust to His slaves.
41:46 Whoever does righteous deeds, then it is for his soul; and whoever does evil, then it is against it. And your Lord is not unjust to His slaves.
(There are people wronging themselves because mankind was created to “willingly” worship God, so they are able to make mistakes)(Allah knows best)
17:41 And verily, We have explained in this Qur’an, that they may take heed, but it does not increase them except in aversion.
(The Qur’an is explained to benefit people “that they may take heed” (17:41), but many people freely do otherwise, so they have no excuse)(Allah knows best)
6:148 Those who associate partners will say, "If Allah had willed, we (would) not have associated partners and neither our forefathers, nor we (would) have forbidden anything." Likewise denied those before them until they tasted Our wrath. Say, "Do you have any knowledge, then produce it for us? You do not follow except assumption, and you do nothing but guess." 6:149 Say, "With Allah is the conclusive argument. And if He (had) willed, surely He (would) have guided you all."
(On one hand, disbelievers’ sentence may imply that they did wrong because God willed. But, they did wrong because of themselves. On the other hand, even so, God is Able to guide them all; but God does not guide the wrongdoing people (5:51))(Allah knows best)
32:13 And if We had willed, surely We would have given every soul its guidance, but the Word from Me will come true, "I will fill Hell with jinn and men all together.
10:44 Indeed, Allah does not wrong the people (in) anything, but the people wrong themselves.
3:182 That is because of what your hands sent forth and that Allah is not unjust to slaves.
4:62 So how when disaster befalls them because of what their hands sent forth. Then they come to you swearing by Allah, "We did not intend except good and reconciliation."
42:30 And whatever misfortune befalls you, (it is because) of what your hands have earned. But He pardons much.
16:34 Then they were struck by the evil of what they did, and they were surrounded by what they used to mock.
29:2 Do the people think that they will be left because they say, "We believe" and they will not be tested? 29:3 And indeed, We tested those before them. And Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars. … 29:10 And of the people are those who say, "We believe in Allah." But when he is harmed in (the Way of) Allah , he considers the trial of the people as the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they surely say, "Indeed, we were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is in the breasts of the worlds? 29:11 And Allah will surely make evident those who believe, And He will surely make evident the hypocrites.
(There is a distinction between “trial” and “punishment”. Wrongdoers may be punished, while “trial” may be any hardship in this life to test someone’s patience, faith, etc.)(Allah knows best)
21:35 Every soul will taste death. And We test you with bad and good as a trial; and to Us you will be returned.
3:128 Not for you is the decision of anything whether He turns to them or punishes them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers.
3:165 Or when disaster struck you, surely you (had) struck (them with) twice of it, you said, "From where (is) this?" Say, "It (is) from yourselves." Indeed, Allah (is) on everything All-Powerful.
3:155 Indeed, those who turned back among you on the day (when) the two hosts met – only Satan made them slip for some of what they had earned. And surely Allah forgave them, indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, All-Forbearing.
(You must ask forgiveness for your sins, in order to obtain forgiveness (71:10, 2:199, etc.))(Allah knows best)
3:117 (The) example (of) what they spend in this [the] life (of) the world (is) like (the) example (of) a wind, in it (is) frost, it struck (the) harvest (of) a people who wronged themselves, then destroyed it. And Allah (has) not wronged them, [and] but they wronged themselves.
