Is pornography allowed?

24:30 Say to the believing men to lower (yaghuddu) their gaze and they should guard their chastity/modesty (furujahum). That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what they do. 24:31 And say to the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity/modesty, and not display their adornment except what is apparent of it. And let them draw their head covers over their bosoms, and not display their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husbands’ fathers, or their sons, or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or that which their right hands possess, or the attendants having no physical desire among men, or children who are not aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah altogether O believers, so that you may succeed.

(Pornography is the literature or pictures of sexual acts intended to cause sexual arousal)(Adultery / fornication is forbidden (25:68), then having relations with other than your wife are forbidden, so you cannot make porn movies. If you make the movie with your wife, and you want to show or sell it to other people, then it is also wrong, because women cannot display their body that way (24:31), and the purpose is to avoid physical desire among men (24:31))(Allah knows best)

24:19 Indeed, those who like that immorality (l-fahishatu) (should) spread among those who believe, for them is a painful punishment in the world and the Hereafter. And Allah knows, while you do not know.

(If you buy or watch pornography on the internet, they earn money from you, so you contribute to the making of more and more movies or photos. Cartoons are also other than your wives, and might depict immoral situations)(The Qur’an protects women. Pornography would go against women, and against their obligation of not displaying themselves, except to their men)(Some sources say that pornography harms the brain almost exactly the same as drug addiction. On the contrary, other sources say that neuroscience research fails to support claims that excessive pornography consumption causes brain damage. Nevertheless, it is a fact that pornography is addictive for many people)(Allah knows best)

23:5 And those who are guardians of their modesty 23:6 Except from their spouses or what they rightfully possess, then indeed, they are not blameworthy.

(Pornography is usually used for masturbation. See also the link below “Is masturbation allowed?”)(In regard to “what they rightfully possess”, you might have women’s videos and/or pictures, but it does not make them lawful, because, in regard to relations, “what they rightfully possess” (believers among them) are in the context of marriage, in the entire Qur’an. And it is in the context of possessing them in real life, rather than just having their pictures or videos)(The distinction between “spouses or what they rightfully possess” is a matter of preference or order, first (free) women, but if you cannot find marriage, then you “marry” what you rightfully possess (4:3))(Disbelievers are not lawful for believers (60:10))(Allah knows best)
