Is Jesus God and/or the son of God?

Is Jesus God and/or the son of God?

2:163 And your God is one God; there is no god except Him, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

4:171 O People of the Book, do not commit excess in your religion and do not say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a spirit (ruhi) from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Glory be to Him, that He (should) have a son for Him. To Him whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.

(“Trinity” means “group of three,” so “three” in the Qur’an refers to the “trinity.” The word “trinity” is not in the Bible; regarding the Qur’an, Verse 4:171 explicitly says, “do not say, ‘Three’; desist – it is better for you,” so the concept of “trinity / three” is incorrect.)(Verse 4:171 explicitly mentions God, Jesus, and the Spirit; thus, the Qur’an mentions in this Verse who the “three” are (according to Christians), but the Verse does not say that Jesus and the Spirit are God. Instead, the Verse says,So believe in Allah and His messengers.” The root of “ruhi” (spirit) is “Ra-Waw-Ha,” which also means “inspiration, revelation, angel of revelation, etc.” “Inspiration / revelation” may imply “conveying knowledge or a message(42:51), which is a Messenger’s duty (16:35, 16:82, 24:54). The spirit is called “Messenger” in Verses 19:17-19. The “Spirit” is believed to be an Angel because Messengers are chosen from among the Angels (22:75), as well as from mankind (22:75).) (An interpretation of the sentence “and a spirit from Him” is that the spirit is a Messenger as well. The next sentence says, “So believe in Allah and His messengers” (“messengers” in the plural). Verses 19:17-19 also confirm that the Spirit is only a Messenger of God.) (Note: the word wa” (and), mentioned in the sentence “and a spirit from Him,” does not specify order or timing.) (Another interpretation is that the word “ruhun,” translated as “spirit,” also means “Inspiration / revelation,” so the Verse might imply that Jesus was created “of/from God/God’s revelation / inspiration.”) (Another sentence says, “and His word which He directed to Mary” (regarding Jesus); one interpretation is that Jesus is His word because God created Jesus by saying “Be,” and he was (3:59). The creation of Jesus is like the creation of Adam; there was no sexual relation between a man and a woman. In the case of Jesus, the word was directed to Mary (4:171). Another (less likely) interpretation of Verse 4:171 is that Jesus is “His Word” because he does not speak on his own but delivers God’s Message (38:8, 7:203).) (According to Verse 19:17, the Spirit “appeared to her in the likeness of a well-proportioned man,” and the Spirit says of himself that he is only a Messenger of God (“I am only a Messenger from your Lord”(19:19)). The Spirit or Holy Spirit is believed to be Gabriel. Verse 6:9 supports this, stating “if We had made him an Angel, certainly We would have made him a man.” So, the Angel does not appear to a human as an Angel, but as a human.) (On the other hand, God cannot become human. Humans are created weak (4:28), while God is All-Powerful/the Creator; only the weak/created ones are human.) (The Bible, in Numbers 23:19, confirms that God cannot become human: “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”)(Allah knows best)

15:29 So, when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of (min) My spirit (ruhi), then fall down to him prostrating."

(Notice that Verses 15:29 and 4:171 imply “of/from God/God’s (revelation / inspiration),” not “God Himself”; therefore, Adam (15:29) and Jesus (4:171) are not deities, but they have messages / knowledge “from” God.)(Allah knows best)

16:2 He sends down the Angels with the inspiration of His Command, upon whom He wills of His slaves, that "Warn that there is no god except Me, so fear Me."

(The Angels (Spirit) are sent down “with” the inspiration, so the Spirit is not God, but the Spirit is a Messenger who obeys/serves God. And the inspiration is “of/from His Command.”)(Allah knows best)

7:144 He said, "O Moses, indeed, I have chosen you over the people with My Messages and with My words. So take what I have given you and be among the grateful."

(Humans can have knowledge and can recite the Messages / words revealed by God; those Messages / words are “from” God)(See also the link below “Is the Qur'an created or uncreated (always existed)?”)(Allah knows best)

11:119 Except on whom your Lord has bestowed Mercy, and for that He created them. And the Word of your Lord will be fulfilled, "Surely I will fill Hell with Jinn and men all together."

(Verse 11:119 confirms that the Word of God are Words spoken by God. On the other hand, a Messenger recite what has been revealed to him (29:45).)(Allah knows best)

2:89 And when there came to them a Book from (min ‘indi) Allah confirming what was with them, though before that they used to pray for victory over those who disbelieved - then when there came to them that which they recognized, they disbelieved in it. So the curse of Allah is on the disbelievers.

(The Qur’an does not say that a Book is Allah, but says that it is “from Allah”; His words are “from” Him (2:37), and His Knowledge is “from” Him (2:255); a Messenger is also “from / (min)” Allah (7:61), which does not mean that the Messenger “is” Allah.)(Allah knows best)

69:40 Indeed, it is surely the Word of a noble Messenger. 69:41 And it is not a word (wama huwa biqawli) of a poet; little is what you believe 69:42 Nor it is the word of a soothsayer; little is what you take heed. 69:43 (It is) a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 69:44 And if he had fabricated against Us some sayings (l-aqawili), 69:45 We would certainly have seized him by the right hand;

(The Word of the Messenger is a Revelation from Allah (69:40-44). It is interpreted that “it” (Word) in Verses 69:40 and 69:41 refers to the Qur’an because Verses 69:41 and 81:25 use the same phrase “and it is not” (wama huwa biqawli), referring to the “Reminder” (81:27); and the “Reminder” refers to the Qur’an (7:2, 15:9, 20:2-3, 36:69).)(Allah knows best)

19:17 Then she took a screen from them. Then We sent to her Our Spirit, then he appeared to her in the likeness of a well-proportioned man. … 19:19 He said, "I am only a Messenger from your Lord, that I may bestow on you a pure son." 19:20 She said, "How can I have a son when no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?"

3:59 Indeed, the likeness of Jesus with Allah is like the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was.

(The miraculous birth of Jesus does not make him a deity, nor the son of God. Adam was created likewise (i.e., he had no father).) (God did not take a son, and Jesus had no father. If Jesus had had a father, Mary would not have been a virgin. Thus, the virginity of Mary actually opposes the Christian belief that Jesus was the son of God.)(Allah knows best)

5:72 They certainly disbelieve who say, "Indeed Allah - He is the Messiah, the son of Mary." While the Messiah said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates partners with Allah, then surely Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and his abode will be the Fire. And there will be no helpers for the wrongdoers.

(According to Verses 5:72-73 and 5:17, Trinitarians are disbelievers. And “he who associates partners with Allah, then surely Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and his abode will be the Fire.” In other words, one must not believe or say that Jesus is God; therefore, what Christians call “Heaven” is forbidden to them, and their abode is Hell.)(Allah knows best)

4:48 Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives other than that for whom He wills. And whoever associates partners with Allah, then has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin.

5:17 They have certainly disbelieved who said, "Indeed, Allah, He is the Messiah, the son of Mary." Say, "Then who has the power against Allah in anything if He intends to destroy the Messiah, the son of Mary, and his mother and everyone on the earth?" And for Allah is the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between both of them. He creates what He wills, and Allah is on everything All-Powerful.

2:116 And they said, "Allah has taken a son." Glory be to Him, nay, for Him is what is in the heavens and the earth. All are humbly obedient to Him. … 10:68 They say, "Allah has taken a son." Glory be to Him, He (is) the Self-sufficient. To Him (belongs) whatever (is) in the heavens and whatever (is) in the earth. You (do) not have any authority for this. Do you say about Allah what you (do) not know?

(Some Christians wrongly say that the sentence “Glory be to Him” in Verse 2:116 glorifies Jesus, while Verse 2:116 uses the word “Nay,” which cancels the previous statement (they said, “Allah has taken a son” (2:116)). Another refutation of “Glorifying Jesus” is that if we compare 2:116 (about a son) and 16:57 (about daughters), the sentence structure is identical. To understand why “Glory be to Him” in 2:116 refers to God and not a “son,” we simply look at the parallel construction in Verse 16:57. In 16:57, “Glory be to Him” immediately follows the mention of daughters. If the glory were meant for the children being mentioned, it would be “Glory be to them” in a feminine form. So, 2:116 and 16:57 use “Glory be to Him” to reject the idea of son and daughters, using the exact same phrase to reject such an idea.)(In addition, the entirety of the Qur’an denies that Jesus is God or son of God (19:35, 112:3, 5:73, 19:88-93, 43:59, 39:4).) (Verse 6:100 also confirms that glorification belongs to Allah, not to what they falsely attribute: “they falsely attribute sons and daughters to Him without knowledge. Glorified is He and Exalted above what they attribute.”)(Allah knows best)

16:57 And they assign daughters to Allah. Glory be to Him, and for them is what they desire.

6:100 And they make the jinn partners with Allah though He has created them, and they falsely attribute sons and daughters to Him without knowledge. Glorified is He and Exalted above what they attribute.

39:4 If Allah (had) intended to take a son, surely, He (could) have chosen from what He creates whatever He willed. Glory be to Him, He is Allah, the One, the Irresistible.

(Notice that Verse 39:4 says “take / chosen,” not “beget / begotten.” If God had intended to “take” a son, He could have “chosen” from what He “creates” (39:4), so the “son” would be a “creation,” not a deity. This confirms that God cannot have a son. Verses 19:88-93, 19:35, 2:116, 16:57, 17:111, 23:91, and 4:48 confirm that Verse 39:4 is hypothetical, because God has not “taken” a son.)(Allah knows best)

43:81 Say, "If the Most Gracious had a son. Then, I (would be the) first of the worshipers." 43:82 Glory be (to the) Lord (of) the heavens and the earth, (the) Lord (of) the Throne, above what they ascribe. 43:83 So leave them (to) converse vainly and play until they meet their Day which they are promised

(It is hypothetical.) (An hypothesis can refer to something possible or impossible in order to draw a conclusion.)(Allah knows best)

23:91 Allah has not taken any son, nor is there any god with Him. Then surely each god would have taken away what he created, and surely some of them would have overpowered others. Glory be to Allah above what they attribute.

(It is hypothetical.)(Allah knows best)

17:111 And say, "All Praise is for Allah, the One Who has not taken a son and Who has no partner in the dominion nor any protector out of weakness. And magnify Him with all magnificence."

43:59 He was not except a slave on whom We bestowed Our favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.

19:30 He said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah . He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet.

(Matthew 23:30-33 implicitly confirms that Jesus is a Prophet and confirms that the killing of prophets causes punishment rather than salvation. Matthew 23:30-33 says, “And you say, ‘if we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets’. So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started! ‘You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?”) (Allah knows best)

5:75 The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a Messenger, certainly Messengers had passed before him. And his mother was truthful. They both used to eat food. See how We make clear to them the Signs; then see how they are deluded.

(God is not sustained by His creation; rather, He is the Sustainer of existence (2:255 and 3:2). God does not have to create or eat food to keep Himself alive. On the other hand, Jesus used to eat food.) (God is Eternal. The food was created from nothing for creatures at a specific time and for a specific purpose. And God makes what is sown to grow (56:63-64).) (Allah knows best)

21:8 And We did not made them bodies not eating food, nor were they immortals.

6:14 Say, "Is it other than Allah I should take as a protector, Creator of the heavens and the earth, while it is He Who feeds and is not fed?" Say, "Indeed, I have been commanded to be the first who submit and ‘Do not be of the polytheists’."

5:73 They have certainly disbelieved, those who say, "Indeed, Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except the One God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, a painful punishment will surely afflict those who disbelieved among them. 5:74 So will they not turn to Allah and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(According to Christians, the trinity is “father, son, and Holy Spirit.” Notice that they say “father” instead of “God.” The Qur’an specifies many times that Jesus is the “son of Mary” and the Messiah (19:34, 61:6, 2:87, 4:171, 5:17, 5:72, 5:75, 3:45, 4:157); this opposes the concept of the “son of God.” There are two “Jesuses” in the Bible: the Aramaic name “Barabbas” literally means “son of the father”; ancient manuscripts of Matthew 27:16-17 contain the name “Jesus Barabbas,” not just “Barabbas” (See the translations more faithful to those ancient manuscripts: “New International Version,” “Contemporary English Version,” “Good News Translation,” or “Net Bible”). According to the Bible, Pilate, the governor of Judea, asked the crowd which prisoner was to be released: “Jesus Barabbas (son of the father),” or “Jesus who is called the Messiah?” (Matthew 27:17). Thus, the conclusion is that the New Testament explicitly says there were two characters bearing the same name (Jesus). It seems that Christians mixed the stories of the two characters; Jesus Barabbas blasphemed by bearing such a name-“the son of father (referring to God)”-because God does not beget. On the other hand, Jesus the Messiah never said he was the son of God, as the words “Barabbas / son of the father” and “Messiah / son of Mary” are used to distinguish one Jesus from the other.) (So, the Jesus who uses the word “father” (referring to God) is not Jesus the Messiah, but the so-called “Jesus, son of the father” (aka Barabbas in Aramaic).) (For example, the sentence in Matthew 28:19, “baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit,” was said by Barabbas, not by the Messiah.) (Historically, scribes and translators removed the name “Jesus” from Barabbas’s name in later manuscripts and translations, deluding the masses, while the earliest manuscripts contain the name “Jesus Barabbas.”)(Allah knows best)

112:1 Say, "He is Allah, the One. 112:2 Allah, the Eternal, the Absolute. 112:3 He neither begets nor is begotten. 112:4 And nor is there to Him any equivalent."

(In the Bible, in John 10:33-36, Jesus Barabbas (aka Jesus son of the father) is rightly accused of blasphemy by the Jews because he claimed to be God (John 10:33), and he claimed to be the son of God (John 10:36). He uses the term “father” in these verses, referring to God, so we know that he is Jesus Barabbas (aka “Jesus son of the father”), not Jesus the Messiah.) (The Jews knew that it was blasphemy, and Jesus Barabbas wrongly tried to justify it by quoting Psalm 82:6, in which the words “gods / Elohim” and “sons of the Most High” are used regarding people. However, Jews say this is a mistranslation of Psalm 82:6 because, according to the context, “Elohim” can refer to “judges and other people who hold positions of authority and rule.” The Hebrew word “Elohim” is translated as “judges” in Exodus 21:6, 22:8-9, and 28.) (Notice that John 10:33 says, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God,” and notice that, in John 10:36, Jesus Barabbas’ answer is “why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?”. So, according to this sentence, claiming to be the son of God is equivalent to claiming to be God.) (“gods” in Psalm 82:6 is interpreted as “judges”; on the other hand, “sons” in Psalm 82:6 is interpreted by Jews as “sons” in terms of adoption, not in terms of procreation, because “sons” in terms of procreation is not supported in the entire Old Testament.)(Allah knows best)

19:35 It is not for Allah to take a son. Glory be to Him, when He decrees a matter, then He only says to it, "Be" and it is.

(Another point is that someone who claims to be the “king of the Jews” is going to have to lead a rebellion against Rome. Jesus Barabbas is the one who rebelled against Rome. The punishment for rebellion is crucifixion; therefore, Jesus Barabbas was crucified, not Jesus the Messiah. Proof that Jesus Barabbas was the “king of the Jews,” while “Jesus the Messiah” held no such title, is that Matthew 2:1-2 says that Jesus, “the king of the Jews,” was born in Bethlehem in Judea, while the earliest Gospel says that Jesus came from Nazareth. These two accounts are contradictory because they actually refer to two different people bearing the same name (Jesus); one Jesus was born in Bethlehem, and another Jesus was born in Nazareth. The Qur’an confirms that Jesus the Messiah is from Nazareth because the word “Christian” is literally translated as “Nazarene” (follower of the Nazarene). Matthew 2:2 ask, “where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?”. So, Matthew 2:1-2 explicitly states that the one born in Bethlehem is the king of the Jews, rather than the one born in Nazareth.) (According to Matthew 27:11, the governor asked the one who was to be crucified: “Are you the king of the Jews? ‘You have said so,’ Jesus replied.” So, according to the context (Matthew 27:11-13), they took “the King of the Jews” (the one from Bethlehem); Matthew 27:37 confirms this: “above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is Jesus, the king of the Jews.” On the other hand, Acts 3:6, 4:10, and 10:38” confirm that “Jesus of Nazareth” is the Messiah (aka the anointed one), rather than the one from Bethlehem.) (The “Jesus” who uses the term “my father” and “father” in Matthew is Jesus Barabbas (aka Jesus son of the father).)(Allah knows best)

3:47 She said, "My Lord how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" He said, "Thus Allah creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, then He only says to it, "Be," and it becomes.

(Another point is that the Talmud mentions a “Yeshu” (a shortened form of Yeshua/Jesus), who is described as a “sorcerer” who “led Israel astray,” committed blasphemy, and was stoned and “hanged” (crucified) on the eve of Passover. Jesus Barabbas’ very name was a form of blasphemy, and he is described in the Bible as a “notorious prisoner” and a “rebel.” The Talmud’s description also concerns a revolutionary like Barabbas. The Talmud might be preserving the memory of the “wrong” Jesus-the one who actually claimed to be the “son of the father” (Barabbas)-among other Jesuses, wrongly attributed to the true Messiah.) (Regarding the Talmud’s use of the term “Yeshu ha-Notzri,” translated as “Jesus the Nazarene,” instead of “Jesus Barabbas,” many scholars argue that the title “Ha-Notzri” (the Nazarene) was not in the original oral traditions of the Talmud. When Christianity became the dominant religion of the Roman Empire, later Talmudic editors (Amoraim) added “The Nazarene” to those older stories to “claim” them as the history of the “Christian” Jesus. Thus, the identification with the Nazarene was a later theological “fix” once Christianity became a threat.) (Peter Schafer, a professor at Princeton, wrote the book Jesus in the Talmud. He argues that the Talmudic stories are “counter-narratives.” He suggests the Rabbis took older stories of heretics and “upgraded” them with details from the Gospels (like the name “Nazarene” or the Eve of Passover) specifically to mock Christian claims. Regarding Johann Maier, he argued that the identification with “the Nazarene” was a later development caused by both internal Jewish tradition and external Christian pressure.) (But another point is the anachronism: “Yeshu Ha-Notzri” (Jesus the Nazarene) is described as a student who lived around 100 BCE-roughly a century before Jesus of Nazareth was born-so it is not the same person. In fact, the Talmud contains several controversial passages referring to individuals named “Yeshu,” whom some scholars identify as a composite of different historical figures living in different eras (such as the Hasmonean or Tannaitic periods). Early manuscripts often lack the specific epithet “Ha-Notzri” (the Nazarene) or use varying terminology, leading to ongoing debate over whether these texts originally intended to reference the Jesus of the New Testament.) (Another point is that the earliest rabbinic source for “Yeshu” (alone) is The Tosefta (c. 200-300 CE), written centuries after the historical Jesus (the Nazarene). The rabbis likely conflated various individuals, later appending the title “Ha-Notzri” (the Nazarene) in the Babylonian Talmud (compiled 3rd-6th centuries CE), which is the earliest appearance of “Ha-Notzri” (the Nazarene), also written centuries after Jesus the Messiah/the Nazarene. Because this epithet is absent in many early manuscripts and consistent only in later, uncensored versions like the Munich 95 MS, it is argued that the Talmud is an unreliable historical source for the 1st-century Jesus.) (Such a distortion of history is not something new; I encountered several lies by Jews in different subjects while researching for my blog, and lying is a common practice among certain Jewish authors (though some non-Jewish groups do it too). Historically, Jews defamed Jesus, Mary, Solomon, Aaron, and the Samaritans, and also wrote historical errors about Dhul Qarnain, etc. (Search my blog for: “Was Aaron responsible for the golden calf?”, “Samaritans existing in ancient Egypt?”, “Is Dhul-Qarnain Alexander ‘the great’ or Cyrus ‘the great’?”, “Jesus vs. Paul”, “Is the Bible corrupted?”, “Does the Jewish Bible say that Palestine belongs to the Jews?”))(Allah knows best)

25:58 And put your trust in the Ever-Living, the One Who does not die, and glorify with His Praise. And sufficient is He regarding the sins of His slaves, All-Aware,

(Christians believe that Jesus died, while God does not die.)(God is Eternal and All-Powerful. Only the non-powerful ones “become” or are human, because man is created; man cannot create himself, and man has no the choice (28:68). And only the non-powerful die. Man cannot prevent death.)(Allah knows best)

5:116 And when Allah said, "O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to the people, "Take me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?" He said, "Glory be to You, it was not for me to say what I had no right. If I had said it, then surely You would have known it. You know what is in myself, and I do not know what is in Yourself. Indeed, You, You are All-Knower of the unseen. 5:117 I did not say to them except what You commanded me – that, "You worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." And I was over them a witness as long as I was among them, then when You raised me, You were the Watcher over them, and You are Witness over all things.

(Some Christians say that the Qur’an got the trinity wrong in Verse 5:116, but they are just inventing lies about the Qur’an because there is no mention of “trinity” (aka “three”) in Verse 5:116. Instead, it mentions a fact that still persists in some Christian sects; e.g., Catholics are devoted to the “virgin Mary” and ask her for things, thereby committing idolatry.) (The Qur’an refers to the “trinity” when “three” is explicitly mentioned. Actually, Verse 4:171 mentions “three,” and also mentions who the “three” are (“God,” “Jesus,” and “Spirit”), according to Christians. See the comment on Verse 4:171.) (Another point is that, in Verse 5:116, only Jesus is questioned, and only about himself and his mother, but not about the Spirit, because Angels do not disobey (16:49-50), and God speaks the Truth (33:4). Since Mary was not a Prophet, only Jesus is questioned regarding his duty (5:116).) (Another point is that the Verses of the Qur’an are diversified: Verse 16:51 says “do not take for yourselves two deities”; Verse 71:23 mentions people wrongly taking five deities... so the Verses are diversified (“We have diversified the Signs, that they may return” (46:27)). In the case of Verse 5:116, it seems that it particularly refers to catholic Christians’ idolatry.)(Allah knows best)

19:88 And they say, "The Most Gracious has taken a son." 19:89 Verily, you have put forth an atrocious thing. 19:90 The heavens are almost torn therefrom, and the earth splits asunder and the mountains collapse in devastation. 19:91 That they invoke to the Most Gracious a son. 19:92 And it is not appropriate for the Most Gracious that He should take a son. 19:93 There is none in the heavens and the earth but will come to the Most Gracious as a slave.

(It is said that Paul was a trinitarian, and trinitarians are disbelievers (5:72-73, 5:17). Paul persecuted early Christians who followed the Law, and as a “Christian,” he continued to oppose the religion through his fabrications.) (God does not guide wrongdoing people (46:10).) (See the link below “Jesus vs. Paul”) (Allah knows best)

4:132 And to Allah whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And Allah is sufficient as a Disposer of affairs.

3:45 When the Angels said, "O Mary, indeed, Allah gives you glad tidings of a word from Him, his name is Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, honored in this world and in the Hereafter and among those brought near.

(Christians mention, misinterpret, invented, or misquote John 1:1, which says “the word was god,” but John 1:1 does not even mention “Jesus.” Furthermore, John 1:1 is a sentence spoken by “John,” not by Jesus (e.g., John 1:1 does not say “and Jesus said that in the beginning was the Word, etc.”). The Qur’an confirms that Jesus is not God (5:72, 5:73, 5:116, 5:17), and words are “from” God (2:37).) (Another point is that it is said Jesus did not write the Gospel; it is anonymous and written in Greek instead of Aramaic (the language of Jesus). The current Bible has verses that are not in the oldest sources (e.g., Codex Vaticanus, Codex Sinaiticus, and papyrus), so it is not a reliable source.) (If John 1:1 were to say that Jesus is God, it would also contradict other parts of the Bible. For example, Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”) (Note: “Christ” (from Greek) means “Messiah” (Hebrew and Arabic).) (See the link below “Is the Bible corrupted?”) (Allah knows best)

3:49 And a Messenger to the Children of Israel, "Indeed, I have come to you with a sign from your Lord - that I design for you from clay like the form of the bird, then I breath into it and it becomes a bird by the permission of Allah. And I cure the blind, and the leper, and I give life to the dead by the permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed, in that is surely a sign for you, if you are believers.

(Verse 3:49 says regarding Jesus: “I cure,” “I design,” “I breath,” “I give life.” Thus, Jesus performed Signs as “a sign from your Lord” (3:49) and “by the permission of God” (3:49). If God had not granted this to Jesus, there would have been no Sign at all; if God did not give permission, there would have been no Sign. Therefore, the performer (Jesus) is “irrelevant” in the sense that Jesus cannot produce a sign by himself. Other messengers also came with Signs. Simply because a human performed these acts does not make him a deity.)(Allah knows best)

40:78 And certainly We have sent Messengers before you. Among them (are) who - We have related to you, and among them (are) who - We have not related to you. And it is not for any Messenger that he brings a Sign except by the permission of Allah. So when the Command of Allah comes, it will be decided in truth, and the falsifiers will lose.

21:92 Indeed, this is your religion – one religion, and I Am your Lord, so worship Me.

(Jesus does not say in the Gospel, “I’m God, worship me.” Thus, Christians make false assumptions.) (Likewise, Christians make the false assumption that Jesus was sent to all of mankind, while the Gospel and the Qur’an say otherwise. See the link below: “To whom was Jesus sent? Was Jesus sent to the gentiles?”) (Allah knows best)

9:30 And the Jews said, "Uzair is son of Allah." And the Christians said, "Messiah is son of Allah." That is their saying with their mouths, they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before. (May) Allah destroy them. How deluded are they.

(According to Verse 9:30, the concept of the “son of God” is not from God, but from those who disbelieved before.)(Allah knows best)

5:18 And the Jews and the Christians said "We are the children of Allah and His beloved." Say, "Then why does He punish you for your sins?" Nay, you are human beings from among those He created. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And for Allah is the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and to Him is the final return.

19:36 "And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path."

6:101 Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have a son while He does not have a companion, and He created everything? And He is All-Knower of everything.

(God does not have a companion (6:101) because God is One; there is no deity except Him. Thus, there are no other deities; “everything” other than Him is creation.) (See the link below “Is it possible to have a son without a consort?”)(Allah knows best)

10:37 And it was not that this Qur’an could be produced by other than Allah, but (it is) a confirmation of that which was before it and a detailed explanation of the Book, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

(The Qur’an confirms the Bible: a human cannot be God (Numbers 23:19). The Christian concept of the trinity is an innovation that is supported neither by the Bible nor by the Qur’an.)(Allah knows best)

4:46 Among the Jews are those who distort words from their places and they say, "We hear and disobey" and "Hear but be not heard” and "Raina", twisting their tongues and defaming the religion. And if they had said, "We hear and obey" and "Hear and look at us”, it would surely have been better for them and more suitable. [And] but Allah cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.

(According to Dr. Shabir Ally, “when we compare the gospels one to another we can see how the stories about Jesus were changed to reflect a higher view of Jesus.” “When we compare Mark to Matthew, we can see how the later gospel changed individual reports to raise the view of Jesus in the following ways: On the occasion when Jesus was transfigured, in Mark, Peter called him ‘Rabbi’; in Matthew, Peter called him ‘Lord’ (Mark 9:5 cf. Matthew 17:4). When Jesus directed his disciples to wait and watch for his imminent return, in Mark, Jesus called himself ‘the master of the house’; in Matthew, he called himself ‘your Lord’ (Mark 13:35 cf. Matthew 24:42). At a place called Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asked Peter who he thought Jesus was. In Mark, Peter replied: ‘You are the Messiah.’ But in Matthew, Peter replied: ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.’ Matthew added the title ‘the Son of the Living God’ (Mark 8:27-29 cf. Matthew 16:13-16). When Jesus’s mother and siblings came looking for him, in Mark he said: ‘Whoever does the will of God is my mother and brother and sister.’ But in Matthew he said: ‘Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my mother and brother and sister.’ In Mark, he called God ‘God.’ But in Matthew, he called God his ‘father’ (Mark 3:35 cf. Matthew 12:50). While Jesus was asleep in a boat, a storm rocked the boat. In Mark, the disciples awoke Jesus with this mild rebuke: ‘Teacher, do you not care if we drown?’ But in Matthew, they pray to him: ‘Lord, save us’ We are perishing.’ The rebuke was changed to a prayer (Mark 6:51-52 cf. 14:32-33). The difference is further pronounced as we go from Mark, the first gospel, to John, the last gospel. The image of Jesus in John is much larger than in Mark. Here, Jesus takes on cosmic dimensions. In John’s gospel, Jesus makes the most significant and far-reaching claims about himself. There are many statements in this Gospel where Jesus asserts his own identity. He says: ‘I am the light of the world,’ ‘I am the resurrection and the life’, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life,’ ‘I and the Father are one,’ and whoever has seen me has seen the Father.’ If Jesus had said these things, the other gospels would have surely recorded them. But they did not, because he did not say these things. John recorded them because this was part of the later evolved story about Jesus. According to Dr. Shabir Ally, later Christians would focus more on the Gospel of John and less on the Gospel of Mark. It is often the Gospel of John that is quoted as proof of Jesus’s divine sonship. Although Mark also calls Jesus the son of God, the title here can be understood as meaning a righteous servant. But in John, Jesus is the “only-begotten son” (John 3:16).) (According to Dr. Shabir Ally, the manner in which Jesus approaches death has also been reworked in John. In Mark, Jesus begs God to save him from the cross, though he submits to God’s decision. In John, Jesus declares that he will not pray to be saved (12:27). On the contrary, he asks God to go ahead according to the plan. Jesus in John obviously came to die for the sins of the world. Hence, he declares that no one can take his life away from him since he has authority to lay down his own life and take it up again (10:18). Jesus declared in John that no one can take his life from him. Since he gives it up of his own accord, even the scene of his arrest has been modified to reflect this. In Mark, Judas the betrayer had arranged to mark Jesus out with a kiss. But in John, Judas dares not draw close to Jesus. Unless Jesus gives himself up, he cannot be arrested (John 18:3-12). We can, in this way, multiply the examples of how one after another the gospels went about modifying the image of Jesus for later readers. The writers did not intend for us to make these comparisons. Each gospel was initially circulated independently. Eventually, however, they were collected together and passed down to us in a single book, the Holy Bible. Today, in studying the gospels, we can notice the trend to represent him as Lord and Savior. To find the real historical Jesus, we have to retrace the trend from John back to Mark. But what about beyond Mark? When we compare Mark with the later gospels, we notice the modifications in the later ones. If we could compare Mark with its predecessors, we would find that Mark has also modified his story.) (Source: Dr. Shabir Ally) (My personal opinion is that the stories of “Jesus Barabbas” influenced and/or were mixed with the stories of “Jesus the Messiah” over time, with the Gospel of John (the latest one) probably being the most blasphemous.) (Allah knows best)

21:26 And they say, "The Most Gracious has taken a son." Glorified is He! Nay, (they are) honored slaves. 21:27 They (can)not precede Him in word, and they act by His command. 21:28 He knows what (is) before them, and what (is) behind them, and they (can)not intercede except for (one) whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, stand in awe. 21:29 And whoever of them says, "Indeed, I am a god besides Him." Then that We will recompense (with) Hell. Thus We recompense the wrongdoers.

21:91 And she who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her of Our Spirit (ruhina), and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.

(The word “ruhi”, interpreted by the translator as “Spirit,” also means “inspiration.”) (Jesus is not God or the son of God, but was created inside Mary’s womb from God’s inspiration.)(Allah knows best)

66:12 And Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We blew into it of (min) Our Spirit (ruhina), and she believed in the Words of her Lord and His Books and was of the devoutly obedient.
