Palindromes in the Qur'an

36:40 It is not permitted for the sun to overtake (tud’rika) the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day, but all are floating in an orbit.

74:3 And magnify your Lord,

2:255 Allah - there is no God except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and the guarding of both of them does not tire Him. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

(It is not a palindrome, but there is symmetry in Verse 2:255. This Verse begins and ends with two names of God, “the Ever-Living, the Sustainer” and “the Most High, the Most Great”. After this beginning, and before this end, there is connection between tiredness, slumber and sleep: “Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep” and “the guarding of both of them does not tire Him”. And after that second sentence and before the other second one, it is about kingship and ownership over the heavens and the earth: “To Him whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth” and “His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth”. And after that third sentence and before the other third one, there are exceptions: “Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?” and “they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills”. And then we reach the middle of Verse 2:255, which refers to “before” and “after”: “He knows what is before them and what will be after them”.
