“Dark
matter” in the Qur’an?
81:15
But nay, I swear by those
that retreat, 81:16 Those
that run (and) disappear,
(Astronomers
have confirmed the existence of dark matter. Dark matter is an
invisible, essentially collisionless component of matter; the
gravitational effect of all that matter holds together galaxies and
galaxy clusters (not the regular matter that forms stars and
planets). Simply put: we cannot see dark matter nor collide with it
but we can detect its gravity)(It is interpreted that Verses 81:15-16
refer to celestial bodies that are invisible, that move, that sweep.
Dark matter is invisible, moves and sweeps our hydrogen)(See:
“miracles-of-quran(dot)com”; “Dark Matter, Dark Energy: The
Dark Side of the Universe” by Professor Sean Carroll from
California Institute of Technology; “Dark Matter: What role does it
play?” By Carolyn Collins Petersen)(Allah knows best)
55:31
We will attend to you, O you two weights
(It
is interpreted that the two classes (literally “two weights”) are
man and jinn; we cannot see nor collide with Jinn but they have
weight. The Jinn have weight means that we can detect their gravity
and they can detect our gravity. “Jinn” means “hidden /
invisible”. We cannot see the Jinn nor collide with them but we can
detect their gravity)(Source: “miracles-of-quran(dot)com”)(Allah

41:12
Then He completed them as seven heavens in two periods and He
revealed in each heaven its affair. And We adorned the
nearest heaven with lamps and to guard. That is the Decree
of the All-Mighty, the All-Knower.
(There
are six other Heavens that we cannot see nor collide with either but
we can detect their gravity, superimposed above the visible one.
Verse 41:12 only mentions the nearest / lowest heaven having visible
light. This could mean that this dark matter exists in the six
Heavens superimposed above the lowest one. And each of these
remaining six Heavens is of a different type (41:12) and each has its
own planets like Earth (65:12))(Source:

65:12
Allah is He Who created seven heavens, and of the earth, the like
of them. The command descends between them that you may know that
Allah is All-Powerful over everything. And that Allah, indeed,
encompasses all things in knowledge.
67:3
The One Who created seven heavens one above another. You do
not see any fault in the creation of the Most Gracious. So return
the vision, can you see any flaw (futurin)? 67:4
Then return the vision twice (again). The vision will return
to you humbled while it is fatigued.
(The
root of “futurin” (flaw) is “Fa-Tay-Ra”, and it means “to
create out of nothing, begin to create, crack / flaw, etc.”. So,
according to the context of Verse 67:3, it can be interpreted as “do
you see any creation out of nothing?”; the initial answer could be
“no”. But in Verse 67:4, when you are supposed to redirect your
sight, your answer may change to “yes”, with defeat. Why should
you redirect your sight when you observe dark matter? Why should you
look away and then back? The gravity of a massive object makes you
see the background stars in another direction. This is how we detect
dark matter today, the background images are lensed at a certain
angle. Since dark matter does not emit any light then we have to
trace the light from the background galaxies. From distances and the
angle of lensing we estimate the mass of the dark matter. So when
detecting the superimposed seven heavens you have to look away and
then back in order to measure the angle. No angle no dark
matter)(Source: “miracles-of-quran(dot)com”)(Allah knows best)
51:7
By the heaven full of pathways.
(One
interpretation is that those seven heavens (multiverse) are parallel
universes “woven” together)(Source:
“miracles-of-quran(dot)com”)(Allah knows best)
84:19
You will surely embark (to) stage (tabaqan)
from stage (tabaqin).
(The
root of “tabaqan / tabaqin” (stage) is used in Verse 67:3 as
well, in the context of the seven heavens, “seven heavens one above
another (tibaqan)” (67:3). So, Verse 84:19 could be interpreted as
a prediction about traveling to those extra dimensions. The
superimposed heavens in the Qur’an are interpreted as the extra
spatial dimensions in modern physics. Today it is known that we are
not living in a “universe” but rather in a “multiverse”)(Source:
