The Qur’an on “rocks”
2:74 Then, after that, your hearts hardened like [the] stones or stronger (in) hardness. And indeed, certainly (there are)/[from the] stones (l-hijarati) from which/it [the] rivers gush forth, and indeed, certainly (there are some of them)/[from them] which split, so [the] water comes out from it, and indeed, certainly (there are some)/[from them] which fall down because of/[from] fear (of) Allah. And Allah (is) not unaware of what you do.
(The Qur’an mentions stones from which rivers gush forth, and water comes out from it. According to the article “reservoir” in aapg(dot)org, “Reservoir rocks are rocks that have the ability to store fluids inside their pores, so that the fluids (water, oil, and gas) can be accumulated”)(The root of “hijarati” (stones) is “Ha-Jiim-Ra”, and it means, “to prevent / hinder / debar / withhold / restrain from a person or thing, to make boundary or enclose a thing; hajar – a rock/stone or mass of rock, etc.”)(Allah knows best)
