Did the Jews acknowledge Jesus was the Messiah?

Did the Jews acknowledge Jesus was the Messiah?

4:156 And for their disbelief and their saying against Mary a great slander. 4:157 And for their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him nor did they crucify him; but it was made to appear so to them. And indeed, those who differ in it are surely in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And certainly they did not kill him.

(According to Verse 4:157, the Jews, at that time, knew that Jesus was the Messiah, because the Verse explicitly says that they said “we have killed the Messiah”. It was recorded, in the Gospel of John 3:1-2, and implicitly supports that the Jews knew that Jesus was the Messiah; whether the later generations of Jews agree or deny it, but it is a fact. John 3:1-2 says, “Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him”)(Allah knows best)

2:87 And indeed We gave Moses the Book and We followed him up with Messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear signs and supported him with the Holy Spirit. Is it not so, that whenever there came to you a Messenger with what yourselves did not desire, you acted arrogantly? So a party you denied and another party you killed.

(The Jews knew that Jesus was the Messiah because he came to them with clear proofs (2:87, 5:110). That’s also supported by the Gospel)(Jesus used parables; Matthew 13:13 and Luke 8:10 confirm that the purpose of the parables is that they may not understand. According to Matthew 13:34 “Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable”. On the other hand, according to Mark 4:34, Jesus explained everything in private to the (“Jewish”) disciples, and according to John 18:20, Jesus said nothing in secret in synagogues or at the temple (Jewish places), and according to Matthew 13:36, Jesus explain a parable in private to the (“Jewish”) disciples. So, one interpretation is that the parables were addressed to non-Jews/gentiles so that they may not understand. On the other hand, Jesus was sent to the Children of Israel (61:14, 43:59, 3:47-50, 5:72, 61:6), and everything was explained to them. Jesus came to the Children of Israel with clear evidences (61:6),and We gave him the Gospel, in it (was) Guidance and light(5:46); so the Gospel was Guidance and light, instead of confusion and unclearness)(Allah knows best)

5:110 When Allah said, "O Jesus, son of Mary, remember My Favor upon you and upon your mother when I strengthened you with the Holy Spirit, you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity. And when I taught you the Book and the wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you make from clay like the shape of the bird by My permission, then you breath into it, and it becomes a bird by My permission; and you heal those born blind and the leper by My permission; and when you bring forth the dead by My permission. And when I restrained the Children of Israel from you when you came to them with the clear proofs, then those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but clear magic."

61:14 O you who believe, be helpers of Allah, as said Jesus, son of Mary, to the disciples, "Who are my helpers for Allah?" The disciples said, "We are the helpers of Allah." Then a group of Children of Israel believed and a group disbelieved. So We supported those who believed against their enemy and they became dominant.

(The disciples were all “Jewish”/”Children of Israel” and believed, and became Muslims (aka submitted (to God))(3:52), so they acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah)(Mark 8:29 confirms that the “Jewish” disciples acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah: “then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah””)(None of the disciples were gentile because Jesus was only sent to the Children of Israel. Matthew 15:24 says, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel”)(Allah knows best)

3:52 Then when Jesus perceived disbelief from them, he said, "Who (will be) my helpers (of) Allah." The disciples said "We (will be the) helpers (of) Allah, we believe in Allah and bear witness that we are Muslims.

46:10 Say, "Do you see if it is from Allah, and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel testifies to the like thereof, then he believed, while you are arrogant?" Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

(In regard to why Jews reject Jesus as the Messiah at this time, it is because the Jews falsely attribute specific events to the coming of a Messiah)(According to the site “jewfaq”, the messianic concept comes from Isaiah 2, 11, 42, 59:20, Jeremiah 23, 30, 33, 48:47, 49:39, Ezekiel 38:16, Hosea 3:4-5, Micah 4, Zephaniah 3:9, Zechariah 14:9 and Daniel 10:14, but the specific expression “the Messiah” does not occur in the Tanakh (Torah, Nevi’im and Ketuvim), so the Jews falsely attributed specific events to the coming of a “Messiah”, other than Jesus (e.g. the return of Jews to their homeland and the rebuilding of the Temple, etc.). And since Jews believe that none of these events occurred during the lifetime of Jesus (nor have they occurred afterwards), he was not the Messiah. But, according to the context, for example, Ezekiel 38:21 mentions the word “sword”, and Ezekiel 38:15 mentions the words “riding on horses” (instead of “cars” or “airplanes”), so it suggests that the stories in Ezekiel refer to something that already happened, or to the past, not to a future event, so the Jews are nowadays wrongly attributing events to the coming of a “Messiah” other than Jesus. Likewise, Isaiah 30:16 speaks about riding horses, and there is no mention of the word “Messiah”, but someone is called “branch” in Isaiah 11:1-9. Jeremiah also used the name “branch” in Jer. 23:5-8, but there is no mention of the word “Messiah”)(The Jews say that the Messiah would be a human being, so they also use the Christian belief, that he was a god, as an excuse to reject him as the Messiah, but Jesus never claimed divinity. See the link below “Is Jesus God or the son of God?”)(Another point is that it is said that the Old Testament had multiple authors and that its composition took place over centuries, so it is not a reliable source, whether it were to explicitly say that the Messiah (other than Jesus) really was related to those specific events or not)(The New Testament is not a reliable source either. See the link below “Is the Bible corrupted?”)(Jesus came to them with clear proofs (43:63), that’s the evidence that he is the Messiah, and they actually knew it because of the proofs (Qur’an 4:157, John 3:1-2))(Allah knows best)

19:37 But the sects among them differed, so woe to those who disbelieve from (the) witnessing (of) a great Day.

(The Jews acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah, but Jews follow their desires, instead of God’s religion. If a Messenger does not come with that which they desire, then they reject him)(Rejecting Jesus does not imply that they did not acknowledge that he was the Messiah, but, according to Verses 27:13-14, someone might reject clear signs, though he was convinced with them)(Allah knows best)

27:13 But when Our visible Signs came to them, they said, "This is a manifest magic." 27:14 And they rejected them, though they themselves were convinced with them, (out of) injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.

61:6 And when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."

(Jesus is from the Children of Israel and announced them a gentile to come after him. And according to the article in wikipedia “Prophets in Judaism”, they do not include, for example, Noah, Salih and Ishmael. It indicates that they have rejection or prejudices against people who do not belong to their group)(See the link below: “Is Muhammad mentioned in the Bible?”)(Allah knows best)
